OK hotel, but with a lack of attention to detail

Richard O (London, United Kingdom) on May 10, 2025

Overall the stay was ok. Summary of pros and cons below. Pros: The room was generally comfortable. The location & transport options were good. It’s easy to walk or take a bus to CityWalk or take the water taxi there from Sapphire Falls. The path to Volcano Bay is also very convenient. Urban Pantry had a reasonable range of food. Cons: Room lights - at check in I was told that all the room lights were controlled from the tablet on the desk. This would have been ok if it was true. But out of the 6 lights in the room, only 3 were controlled from the tablet; the others had physical switches. There was a switch by the door labelled “All Off” which would have been great if it turned all the lights off. In fact, it only turned 1 out of the 6 lights off. Bathroom light - there is just a single spotlight in the centre of the bathroom so the shower is quite dark. Tablet cameras - putting a tablet in a hotel room with cameras on the front and back of it is unacceptable. Who thinks installing cameras in hotel rooms is a good idea…? Shower gel / body wash - there was none provided; only a bar of soap which was pretty bad (and no soap tray for it in the shower). There were empty holders on the shower wall though, indicating that this used to be provided but just isn’t any more. Desk space - the desk space is pretty limited due to placement of the drawers (so you can’t sit at most of it on the chair provided). Urban Pantry tipping - asking people to tip at a checkout when there is no table service is disgusting. Even if you’re just buying a chocolate bar (which you take off the shelf yourself), when you go to the checkout you’re asked if you would like to add a tip. This preys on unsuspecting tourists who don’t understand that tipping is not required or expected in this situation. Checking out - the front desk gave me a checkout time of 12pm. So why did staff try to enter my room twice in the morning, the first time at 9:15am?! Overall, it feels like there is a lack of attention to detail at the hotel. Do the hotel management regularly stay in the rooms to see what the guest experience is actually like? I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Third time, of many to come.

Jake L on May 05, 2025

My third time staying here. It has by far the best value of a Resort hotel, largely due to the proximity and access to the park. The hotel is clean, has a nice pool, and not overrun with children. These combined elevate the atmosphere without having to pay a lot for a premium resort. While I haven’t stayed at the lower tiered value hotels, this one being directly across from Sapphire Falls makes it a premium experience at a fair price. Yarelys at the front desk was especially kind and accommodating!!

Amazing ??

This hotel is a modern style hotel. We loved everything about this hotel. The staff was sk kind to us and hell us whenever we needed help. My son is a huge universal geek and loves anything universal. Only downside is that to get a water taxi you needed to wa on into a whole different hotel.

Mother, Daughter trip!

Getaway80048 (Toronto, Canada) on May 05, 2025

Universal's Aventura Hotel offers a stylish, modern stay with incredible views of Universal Orlando. From the moment you step inside, you're met with a sleek, minimalist design that feels fresh and inviting. The rooms are smartly designed, featuring an in-room iPad for controlling everything from the TV to the room temperature—perfect for tech-savvy travelers. The absolute highlight of my stay was the stunning view of Universal right from my room. Watching the parks come to life in the morning and glow beautifully at night made the experience even more magical. It felt like having a front-row seat to the adventure before even stepping outside. Another unexpected treat was the boat ride from Sapphire Falls to CityWalk. Gliding along the water, surrounded by lush scenery, made the journey feel relaxing and scenic—a perfect way to ease into the excitement of the parks. It added an extra layer of charm to the experience, making transportation feel less like a necessity and more like an enjoyable part of the trip. Though I didn’t visit the rooftop bar or pool, the hotel’s prime location made exploring effortless. Its proximity to Volcano Bay is a major plus, and the food hall offers a nice variety of options. Overall, Aventura is a hidden gem for those seeking a chic, budget-friendly stay with breathtaking views. If you’re looking for a comfortable, tech-forward hotel with Universal right at your window, this is the place.

Great hotel but don’t expect to get a coffee after 6pm!

Lisa B on May 04, 2025

This was our first visit to this hotel, having stayed at other universal hotels previously we thought we would give this place a try. Pro’s Decent price Very close to sapphire falls to use their boat to Universal parks and city walk Volcano bay is literally at the bottom of the complex Room is nice and the view was insane, we could see Disney fireworks from our 8th floor room The food from urban pantry is really nice Cons The length of stay mug (we had for 2 weeks) was $30 plus tax, we thought this was good until we went to sapphire falls and saw theirs was $19, so felt a little ripped off there If you want a coffee after 6pm you are screwed cos Starbucks closed at 6pm and they empty the coffee machines too. Other resorts we stayed at Starbucks was open til 8 or 9 and coffee was always available with the free refillable mug Would we stay here again, yes, but based on what suits us best, surfside is a better choice simply because of access to I drive and coffee!!
