This is a nice hotel but it’s not a 10 out of 10 in my opinion. The rooms are small, ours had a considerable amount of dust in some areas, no convenient place to store luggage, the towels are scratchy, the a/c unit is loud (we had to turn it off to sleep), the beds are very firm while the pillows and blankets are thin. Our beds didn’t have fitted sheets. For privacy, we kept the curtains drawn at night. It can be a five minute wait for the elevators and the staircases are equipped with a fire alarm if you open the door — so you’re forced to wait for the elevator. And don’t be surprised if it’s too full or you have to stop at every floor on the way down. I agree with other reviews that the hotel staff are pleasant and helpful, the hallways were clean and never smelled bad, the location is convenient, Bar 17 has the best view of all the hotels, the pool was big and warm, the Starbucks was fast even when there was a line and the food at Urban Pantry was relatively decent — although the scrambled eggs weren’t really scrambled, more of a toddler’s attempt at making an omelette.

I would describe Adventura hotel as a very mid level hotel that is lacking in very key areas you would expect from a Universal resort property. Don’t let the “sleek and modern design” fool you, this is a very mid tier hotel. First, the amenities are very sub par. The quality of the food served at the Urban Pantry is essential cafeteria food charged at resort level prices. Think $15.99 for powdered eggs and cardboard toast. The only quality food they offer is the fresh oven pizza which is very good. The cleaning service is also very porous. They only clean rooms once every two nights and if you leave a single personal item on your bed they will disregard it entirely. The front desk will not inform you of this. In a five night stay I did not get my room completely cleaned one time. The pool is very drab and not impressive whatsoever. You’re better off paying more to stay somewhere else. Considering most people vacationing to Universal expect a resort level experience you will not get that here so be warned: yes the location is convenient and yes the price is reasonable, but keep in mind you get what you pay for and you will be disappointed by Adventura if you choose to stay here.

Nice environment, clean rooms, the hotel’s design makes the pool area feel like you’re in a wind tunnel. A few food options on site. We tried the pizza, which was not bad, but it was a bit greasy. Starbucks is on-site as well.

Usually we stay in Royal Pacific or the Hard Rock hotel two of Universal’s “premium” hotels but for some reason the prices were coming in ridiculously high, literally twice the price of previous years so we had to drop down a level, with some trepidation. So glad I did, we had a wonderful stay, walking distance (if you’re relatively active) to the parks which we did a number of times but also free transportation if you wish, a lovely room, they kindly honoured my request for a certain level & view which really made the experience better. The pool was great, staff excellent, more slightly adult related so far more relaxing at night and around the pool. We bought Express passes separately and even with this we saved hundreds staying here compared to the other hotels, that impressed that I’ll probably opt to stay here in the future over the premium hotels.

We transferred to Universal Aventura for 5 nights after 9 nights at Disney. Following the manic, busy atmosphere of the Disney Hotel (which was fab), Aventura was like an oasis of calm and tranquility! There’s obviously going to be children everywhere, but Aventura is designed to appeal more to the older clientele, there was no real Universal overkill, just the shop and everything so tastefully designed and airy. The lifts were central and the wings all had their own colour so finding which direction you needed to go in was easy. Receptionist on check in was lovely. In fact everyone was that we met. Bar 17 at the top, views are amazing. Rooms were lovely, clean, beds comfy and all the gadgets appealed to a couple of big kids! Only negative was that the sink was very ‘gluggy’ and made loud gurgling noises throughout the night. I wouldn’t hesitate coming back again, it was absolutely fabulous ??
