THE FIVES RESORT

Ninie J (Toronto, Canada) on Feb 28, 2026

Our trip to The Fives beach and residences was very enjoyable. We found the resort quite big and surrounded by a jungle like setting and the presence of fauna like monkeys and coatis very gratifying. The resort itself has much to offer with regards to restaurants. All of which are first come first serve. So many restaurants in fact we didn’t get to try all of them. The resort has several pools to use and nightly entertainment geared for kids first and then adults. Shuttle service is also provided to get around. Overall, we found The Fives staff very friendly and extremely helpful.

Family vacation 2026

sbunce2021 (Buffalo, New York) on Feb 28, 2026

The rooms are very spacious and private. We had a 3 bedroom penthouse which was amazing. Housekeeping was in 2 times a day. Food was amazing and the service was incredible. Plenty of bars throughout the property. The evening entertainment in the plaza was a nice touch. This place is first class all around

doverscott (Port Dover, Canada) on Feb 28, 2026

We just returned from our vacation from The Fives Residence Feb18-26. Our stay was absolutely wonderful as usual. Our ambassadors Liz and Andrea were are great help kept everything organized for us. My wife and I also want to give and big thank you to Mocca for all your help. And to Rosie who was always going out of her way to help us. The rooms here are beautiful and large. The resort is nestled around a small cenote with beautiful scenery throughout!! This makes it an amazing resort. We must also compliment the great service and food here. This keeps us coming back!! We look forward to our next visit. We had have brought many family and friends and they now to are hooked on this resort. Until next time:)

Mediocre

I5992LVfionab on Feb 26, 2026

We booked a penthouse suite for my husband’s 60th birthday, along with a delux room for our two older children. The rooftop terrace was nice, but quite dated. The furniture on the rooftop needed repairing and the hot tub was old and took forever to fill up and then the water disappeared overnight ! The hotel was nice, but very large, you had to get a buggy to the beach, or it was quite a walk. The pools were nice, but lunchtime places to eat were restricted to one vegan restaurant, or you had to go down to the beach ! The restaurants were nice, but many were booked up with “members”, so you could only get a table if you waited for a couple of hours. The buffet restaurant was ok, but we would have liked to have tried all the other restaurants. Luis from the help centre was great and helped us a lot with trips and taxi’s etc………very charismatic and took the time to find us for a chat. Another shout out to Ferdinand, who cleaned our room daily, a lovely chap who always took the time to speak to us, a credit to the hotel. Overall a nice hotel, but expected slightly more for the money we paid for it.

Fabulous Winter Getaway

mitalinisha (London, United Kingdom) on Feb 26, 2026

My mother and I stayed at The Fives last month and had a lovely experience. The resort is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with a natural flow that prevents overcrowding. Key amenities are centrally located, minimising unnecessary walking and the multiple pools mean the beach area didn’t feel overwhelmed. Service was consistently warm and attentive and we appreciated how sensitively the property has integrated the surrounding rainforest, respecting the wildlife and natural environment. Areas for Improvement The designated sea swimming area is quite small and engineered, presumably for safety. However, it would have been nice to swim further out more seamlessly, without navigating around the marked boundaries. The Italian restaurant by the beach was oversubscribed each evening. When we tried to dine there, the wait exceeded an hour and other guests said this was typical unless you arrived at opening time. As other restaurants did not have this issue, a booking system here might help. Vegetarian options were available, though not on the same scale or variety as the meat offerings. There was also a somewhat casual approach to vegetarian catering e.g. shared utensils between meat and vegetarian dishes and limited choices at certain venues, such as the Thai restaurant. That said, breakfast was exceptional and the freshly made tacos and nachos available throughout the day were excellent. In order to more thoughtfully consider different diets, we suggest introducing a discreet system, such as colour-coded wristbands for guests with specific requirements, to help staff more easily recognise and accommodate individual needs and expectations. We also recommend that chefs use different utensils for meat and vegetarian, especially when making omelettes at breakfast. The on-site shop was very expensive for basic medicine and snacks, though a pharmacy 10 minutes away offered much better prices. Spa treatments were also costly, so we chose to have manicures and pedicures in town instead. While alternatives were available, it would have been more convenient to use the resort facilities at more accessible rates. Whilst the cleanliness and hygiene were excellent, we experienced a foul smell coming from our bathroom sink drains. I’m not sure what the underlying cause was or how easily it can be addressed but it was quite noticeable. Fortunately, our suite had multiple sinks, so it didn’t significantly affect us; however, it could be more problematic in a smaller room with fewer facilities. Highlights The staff were consistently wonderful - attentive, friendly and professional. Despite being a resort stay, we still experienced authentic Mexican culture through the food, drinks and entertainment. We were generously upgraded from a standard room to a spacious suite with multiple balconies and a rooftop terrace featuring a daybed and hot tub. We spent a great deal of time enjoying the private rooftop space and the upgrade made our stay especially memorable. The Casa De Rosa evening was a highlight. Hosted by Fatima and Wendy, it was warm, engaging and beautifully executed. The mezcal and tequila tasting, hands-on cooking and shared meal with other guests created a genuinely special, intimate and familial experience. Fatima and Wendy thoughtfully accommodated our vegetarian requirements in advance and the entire evening felt authentic, welcoming and memorable. I would highly recommend it for anyone seeking a meaningful cultural immersion, especially if you are unlikely to leave the resort. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return.
