Overrated at a big cost!

First, let’s start by saying I have never received worse service from any resort I have ever stayed at before. I, along with my family, stay at all inclusive resorts several times a year, this was the worst in many areas. They expanded the property but clearly not the number of restaurants, I stayed for 5 days and they didn’t give my family a single reservation for a restaurant. I had two birthdays that we were celebrating as well and nothing. The food is mediocre at best, bars serve you drinks out of plastic cups, I’m not taking about at the pool I’m saying at 90% of the bars. The sports bar only has TVs and no ESPN, also no food. This place is dead with no real entertainment after 10pm. All the restaurants shut down. The kitchens close at 9:45 so it’s only a buffet after that until 11pm. Furthermore, there is no dessert available after 10pm either. A huge disappointment from start to finish. I came with my adult teenagers and they were underwhelmed with night activities and food. When you pay over 10K you expect way more. This was my first visit here but definitely my last!. We usually stay at resorts in the Dominican Republic. They may not have the number of activities that are here, but every guest is made to feel special. You can’t put a price on that.

Stunning property. Shockingly poor service.

Jetsetter0418 (Walnut Creek, California) on Dec 20, 2025

This hotel markets itself as a luxury, concierge-driven experience. In reality, the concierge was rude, inflexible, and unhelpful. When room service arrived over an hour late—causing us to risk missing a dinner reservation—the concierge focused on charging extra fees instead of helping fix the problem. Zero ownership. Zero empathy. When we reported an air-conditioning failure, the hotel sent two staff members to our room at 1:30 a.m., knocking and ringing the doorbell. That’s not service—that’s a complete lack of common sense. One more warning: do not visit during peak season. Restaurants, tastings, and experiences were fully booked, leaving us unable to access many of the amenities heavily advertised. Once you’re there, flexibility disappears. Beautiful on Instagram. Disappointing in reality. Luxury is about how you’re treated—and this missed the mark.

Family Fun Resort Highly recommended

Darin K (Sylvan Lake, Canada) on Dec 18, 2025

It’s a resort that has to be seen, from hidden pools and beaches, waterslides into the lazy river it’s a very unique place that needs to be experienced. The concierge Alan was great to deal with get what’s app and the number of one of these guys for bookings! Rooms were great I do recommend a swim out or river jump they are just that special. They are the cleanest rooms we have ever experienced. Housekeeping ect was every day and top notch. As we were with kids 98% of food was buffets and room service. When we did book a restaurant it was as good as it gets “Arriba Baja” The access to the parks is all included and was seamless Xplor, Xenses and Xcaret are all onsite and 5-10 min bus rides no pre booking just come and go as you please all day. You have to book Xel Ha, Xnotes, Myan tours ect they are full day tours. Now what would I change? Restaurant booking is still through concierge and so is the tours. At palace resorts restaurants can be booked through the resort app this is a major thing missing here. The ability to pre order breakfast room service before heading out for activities not a thing here that exists at other places. The only other thing to change is the resort app it might be the most unfriendly app I’ve ever seen. You can know where you want to go and the name of a restaurant and still have trouble finding it they can do way better with that.
