Family quick get away from snowy Alberta

Robyn H on Mar 28, 2026

We were looking for a resort that had a ton of onsite and off site included activities for our teen sons. This place was wonderful! We never were bored. The food was diverse, fresh and abundant. Xcentral was our go to as our one son who is celiac found lots of choice there. Jose (the one wearing glasses) was the best waiter there as he was helpful went out of his way to make our boys laugh and try new things. Thanks Xcaret we will recommend you to all our friends back in Canada and hopefully will return again one day.

Dangerously Stranded with Absolutely No Help

NikB06 (Fishers, Indiana) on Mar 28, 2026

Our first trip to Arte was amazing and we wanted to take our kiddo and family with us on the next stay - to Hotel Mexico. The hotel was undergoing renovations and I asked before booking if there would be a lot of noise and interruptions and was told “no - check our reviews”. To say our stay was underwhelming is an utter understatement. In the kid pool area - the main slide was down for repairs 90% of the time we were there, when my mom and I went to the spa - the entire experience was ruined by the sound of constant jackhammers and construction machines. The most awful part of our trip was when we did the Isla Mujeres day trip. We paid attention to our guide and thought we were exactly where we had to be for pick up back to the hotel. We still have no idea how we missed the pick up spot - but Xcaret basically tells you too bad - find a way back. We’re not helping you at all. We were stranded with older parents, a 7 year old and I was 5 months pregnant in Mexico with no direction how to get back. We tried to use the Xcaret hotel transport bus from the airport - they said no, we can’t use it even if we paid. They literally gave us absolutely no help. We had to hail a taxi in a completely unknown area which is known for gang activity and dangerous - and on our way back we tried to stop to get our driver a tip in another unknown area - where we were almost jumped and assaulted. It was absolutely terrifying and a very very dangerous position to be in as a visitor to another country known for gang violence towards out of town travelers. Xcaret - do better. Charge people a fee and send a driver - which I know from personal experience that you do - or charge us to use the airport shuttle. I’m not looking for something for free - but I do expect to not be put in harms way by your complete lack of a safe plan for passengers who - for whatever reason - miss the ferry back. Horrible and awful experience!

Xcaret is our number one family vacation destination hands down!

April J on Mar 28, 2026

I can’t say enough good things about Hotel Xcaret. It has become our first choice for winter family vacations—we’ve returned three times since our very first visit in 2022. During our most recent trip this past February, we were amazed by how much the hotel has expanded since our last visit in 2024. The new water features, restaurants, arcade, and Xicuit Inn for kids are all beautifully designed and incredibly well thought out. We kept saying to each other, “It’s like they thought of everything we could possibly want.” As much as we loved the new additions, we were equally relieved to see that the original parts of the hotel—the ones we fell in love with—remain just as beautiful and impeccably maintained. We have a seven-year-old daughter, and one of the main reasons we return each year is the Xiquillos Kids Club. The staff go above and beyond to ensure the children are not only well cared for, but genuinely engaged and having fun. They’re not just supervising—they’re actively playing, teaching, and connecting with the kids. It meant so much to us that they even remembered our daughter from previous visits. Whether she’s playing tennis, doing crafts, or joining games, our daughter always comes away with glowing stories—and I’m consistently blown away by the creativity and quality of the art projects she brings back with her after each visit to the kids club. As a parent, there’s a real sense of comfort in knowing she’s in the hands of such attentive and caring educators (because that’s truly what they are). A heartfelt thank you to Lupita, Alba, Maggi, Yael, and Lety for being so warm, welcoming, and kind to our daughter, Ava. And the fact that you can access all the Xcaret parks and excursions as well, is icing on the cake. Our favourites are Xplore, Xelha and Xochimilco! Whether you want to spend your vacation just sitting by the pool and stuffing your face, or making the most of every minute with activities, Xcaret has it all.

Average experience.

This is the fourth time we visited the hotel. Apart from the high number of guests there was a high number of visitors to be sold the time share program, which was o overwhelming. The two restaurants with more food variety had lines all the time. The room service waiting time was very long, the pools were crowded, impossible to get a chair even at 8am, because guests were reserving chairs from the night before. The only great experience was our concierge, Eder. Very thoughtful, helpful and extremely polite. His service reminded us what Xcaret used to be.

The best vacation destination in Mexico!

Alicia C on Mar 27, 2026

We loved our experience in Xcaret. It’s a paradise! The parks, staff and rooms are top of the line. This is our 2nd time at Xcaret and it seemed bigger with lots more options to dine in. If you’re into adventure we recommend all Xcaret parks, theres soo much to do and see. We look forward to coming back again with the family in the next year.
