Absolutely stellar!

tytusm2022 on Jul 06, 2022

We went on a family vacation and comparing this to Sandals, Beaches, and a cruise this has been the most fun out of all of them. So much to do so plan for no days off if you want to do it all. There is so much adventure to be had.

Amazing Trip

Alrighty folks! Now that I’m home, I’m going going give my review. I hope it helps at least 1 person. We were there for 6 days/5 nights with a 12 year old boy. Room. We had a swim out room (in Viento) at the octopus pool. Honestly, I was concerned but it turned out to be the best pool. There’s lots of shade and “raining” water, making the water the coolest of all the pools. They don’t automatically supply pool towels to the swim up rooms and I found that to be disappointing. We had to do the same towel hunt as everyone else. Room service was eh. We had to call a few times for wash cloths and there was no consistency at all to when they’d be in your room (they come in multiple times per day). As a result, we found ourselves dodging them several times during our stay. The rooms are beautiful and have most everything you need, so you can leave a lot of things at home. Also, the menu for room service food is very limited. It works in a pinch but was eh. Late night and early morning we did hear folks in the hall. Not sure why they weren’t considerate of fellow guests, but they were not and we were awoken several times during our stay by slamming doors, talking, and laughing. People start moving at around 0630 and you will hear them. Food. We didn’t have a bad meal there. Everything we ate was delicious and fresh. None of us got sick and we ate all kinds of stuff. I highly recommend the brunch. It costs extra but is well worth it. Also, try dinner at Las Cuevas. Starve yourself before you go because they just keep bringing food. Lol. Don’t forget to hit some of the carts throughout the resort. DO NOT pass up the train whistle cart with the plaintains and sweet potatoes. Holy cow are they good. Activities/itineraries. I’ve seen completely insane and aggressive itineraries posted on various FB groups. We did Xavage, Xplore (staying over for Fuego), and Xenses, building in downtime at the resort. Xavage was our favorite for adventure activities but we just LOVED Xenses. Xavage is a long day and you will need some recovery time. Other than the zip lines, we were indifferent about Xplore. There is a lot of walking no matter which parks you choose to go to. Don’t buy watershoes for how they look. Get at least 2 pairs of super comfortable quick dry, closed toe water shoes. Pack lots of bandaids and neosporin for your feet. You will probably get blisters. Bring a waterproof phone bag you can hang around your neck. It makes getting personal pics easier. Don’t rely on the Xelfies. They didn’t capture some key things like our ziplining. Make sure you plan some downtime. More than you think you want/need. The resort is amazing and some of the parks are so close that if you get bored, you can jet right over to a park. Xelfies. Super cool. If you’ve never been to the resort, get one of the resort maps and take time your first day or two to hit the Xelfie stations. It gets you familiar with the resort and allows you to find some of the hidden gems. Downside of Xelfies is as I mentioned above. Some of the automatic ones did not work during some of our activities and this was a HUGE bummer. I’m terrified of heights and summoned up the courage to zip line. No pic of it. I emailed to see if they could find a copy of it with no luck. So, be aware that some of your moments may not get captured. My overall thoughts on this resort is that this place is amazing. We have already decided that we will go back.

Ate spoiled food from x carette en Diego and was sick for 2 days. Worst experience of my life and paid $1000 per night. No compensation from hotel. Stay away. Beware

Membership make not sense.

weirdmornings on Jul 05, 2022

Membership It is very difficult to have a review that is approved by TripAdvisor because you cannot tell the whole truth about experiences based on many corporate rules and economic interests. The only thing I can say about my review of the hotel is that the only thing that is not worth it is the membership because their contracts are very rare and that in one way or another they do not give you the promised discounts in the 20 years of the membership. Every year the prices go up and you only have a minimal discount thinking that you only pay for the hotel and then you have to pay for your transportation. There are many companies that in one way or another offer a great discount. Just look for promotions without spending thousands on memberships.

The best food and service at Excaret: La Cantina Los Faroles

W5892ZDjordanb on Jul 04, 2022

Saul provided the greatest service for our dinner. He was friendly, kind and provided the best level of service. If you’re looking for authentic Oaxacan food, go to Los Faroles and be sure to request Saul. We can’t wait to see him again.
