A great family vacation with amazing staff in a beautiful place!

This was the ultimate family vacation experience for our family. We stayed for a week over the Thanksgiving holiday. We just happened to be there during a big conference which was great for us because during the days the conference goers were in sessions and not at the pools. The variety of pools and slides, restaurants, shops, and bars was really top notch. The rooms were clean and well stocked with goods. The shower is like an entire room. We had a balcony room and loved looking out onto the ocean each day. We paid extra to have the Diamond Club which I would say was worth it. You get a private pool and butler to check on things throughout your stay. The vibe team made it fun throughout the day and we had a blast with pool volleyball, water aerobics, and blackjack. The foam party was one of the most fun times we have had in a long time. The silent disco was also super fun. We danced for a solid two and a half hours. By far, the most outstanding employee was Omar on the vibe team. He brought the fun and laughs all day at the Diamond Club pool. He has a great attitude and made it fun for both the kids and adults. We had a wonderful time hanging out with him each day. Hugo at the Diamond Club pool provided us with amazing service all with a great attitude. Merdo at the buffet actually carried our plates for us and was one of the best servers we have had anywhere ever. He was just great. Maria cooking the eggs was so nice and friendly. She was such a pleasure to see every morning. All in all we had a great time and dream of going back. The only negatives I would say are the people trying to sell you things from time to time. You do need to know that the beach is murky and isn’t good for swimming. We knew that going into it so not a big deal. If you are looking for a great family vacation with plenty to do for everyone and also the freedom to relax and rest, stay here.

Terrible and would not recommend

Limore Z on Jan 03, 2026

We paid a ton of money for what turned out to be an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. It is honestly shocking that Royalton Splash is associated with Marriott, because this resort does not come close to Marriott standards. No matter where or what we ate — buffet or sit-down restaurant — the food was absolutely terrible. Every single meal had issues: bland, overcooked, cold, undercooked, or just poorly prepared. At an all-inclusive resort, food is a huge part of the experience, and here it was consistently awful. Service was another major problem. In an international, all-inclusive resort you expect staff to speak at least basic English. That was not the case here. Simple requests could not be understood, and waiters and hotel staff struggled to communicate back in English, which made dining, room issues, and even basic interactions frustrating and time-consuming. Allergy accommodations were extremely poor. Staff did not seem knowledgeable or confident about food allergies, and it felt genuinely unsafe eating there. Every meal came with anxiety instead of relaxation. While the rooms were a nice size, even that came with problems. Our room lost hot water for three of the seven days we stayed, and one evening the entire hotel lost hot water. Completely unacceptable at this price point. The beach was dirty and unappealing. Paying extra for Diamond Club was basically a scam — no real benefits, no enforcement of exclusive areas, and if you didn’t wake up at 6:30 AM to reserve pool chairs, you had nowhere to sit because everyone ignored the rules. The entertainment in the evenings and shows were all geared towards much younger families with young kids and far from entertaining. The only redeeming factors were the spacious rooms and the hibachi restaurant, which was the only decent meal we had all week. Overall, this was a very expensive mistake. We left feeling ripped off, stressed, and disappointed. I would not return and would absolutely not recommend this resort to anyone, especially families, people with food allergies, or anyone expecting a Marriott-level experience.
