Had an amazing time!! Great staff and the beach is gorgeous! Clean rooms and i was pleasantly surprised with the food i have to say i would for sure return to the Royalton

We have been coming to this resort for now, a few years. Each year gets better and better. I would like to thank many of the staff that made our Vacation, memorable and so enjoyable. Our Butler Yainen, the Service reps Anna and Elaine. Thais, Abel the bell person, Luis, Claudia, Marcelo, Damaiky, Pubito, Barbord, Frank David, Emmanuel, Reglita, David, Tania, Hermes, Daysi, Sabatar, Yanira, Lazarita, Tania, YuYo, Lisette, Leo, Lazaro, Gladys, Josiel, Aniel, Elizandet, Adela, Ania, Alberto, Tatiana, Dana, Yuniel, Yudelkys, Mercedes, Yordanka, Sayli, Sergio, Carlos ... and, not to forget, Recardo, the Manager. Without all of you, whom made us feel like family, our stay would not have been so enchanting. Family is what each and every staff that we came to know, helpful, a smile, and making us feel "Special" Thank you so very much.

Spent a week at the Royalton Hicacos with friends and had a great time. We upgraded to the renovated rooms and Diamond Club and it was well worth it. Decor and furnishing are nice. The room is spacious and the lights, A/C, fan, window shade in the washroom are controlled by a touch panel on the wall. Very modern. The DC access gives you access to a separate (less crowded) side of the beach. We also had additional breakfast and lunch a la carte options and a discount at the spa. The resort is lovely and well-maintained and the food was good. Lots of options between several a la carte restaurants. I only went to the buffet a couple times, as we preferred the restaurants. The beach is amazing, with super clear water. We were able to swim each day, with only one day having slightly bigger waves. I definitely recommend the Royalton Hicacos resort.

Despite two days of rain, we had an excellent stay at the Royalton Hicacos Resort & Spa. The resort is wonderful with lots of trees, gardens and waterways. The beach is beautiful with lots of Palapas. The swimming Pool is great. As for food, we had everything we needed; there was a wide variety of choices at the buffet. The à la carte restaurants were very good (The Pearl, Armadillo, Caribe). We were fortunate enough to participate in a new event, The Cuban Dinner, which will become a permanent event on Fridays, during Cuban Day. The employees are very professional and extremely kind. It was a wonderful week.

Just returned from a wonderful two weeks at the Royalton Hicacos. We have been to Cuba 26 times, we would have to rate this one at the top of our list. Next would be Melia Las Americas. We booked a diamond club junior suite. Rooms were a little dated but the beds and pillows were very comfortable! The perks of Diamond Club were totally worth it, especially the caribe restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was great, eggs cooked perfectly no matter which way they were prepared. Lunch was the real treat. We didn't realize until a week in that they change the menu for lunch everyday. One day Cuban, next day Tex Mex, Italian, Asian, international. Got to experience most before going home. I believe it was the same chef for breakfast and lunch and have to say, he knows what he is doing! Everything was prepared beautifully and had flavor and good spice! our favorite two meals of the day! We also tried the Pearl, Tex Mex and beach Grill for dinner. All were very good. Tried Italian as well, didn't care for that one to much, plus that restaurant was too bright. Beach is probably on the best strip of beach in varadero. We NEVER worried about finding a lounger or shade on the beach or by the pool at any time of day. This is a big plus for us! The entertainment was also great. Stuff happening everywhere! The live bands, duets, etc. all great. Even dinners outside in the royal garden on different nights. Always something to do! The layout of the resort is lovely, quite mature. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! Only one thing to be careful with, nothing to do with the resort but the airport in Varadero. This is the first time we have experienced theft in our luggage. I pack everything carefully in packing cubes and bags. Two of our suitcases were a total mess when we opened them this morning. I had a little lug jewelry pouch with several pockets that held quite a big of jewelry, mostly costume but a couple of swarowski pieces. Unfortunately, the whole pouch was empty, everything taken out of it, one earring left in the bottom of my suitcase. Learned my lesson, it will go in my carry on from now on. Please be careful with what you pack!
