Terms and conditions

Upgrade fees are on a flight leg segment basis and are non-refundable.

Basic fares are not eligible to purchase an upgrade.

Your original fare rules do not change with an upgraded flight. This includes any rules relating to changes or cancellations. Upgrade fees paid do not count towards your qualifying spend to achieve WestJet Rewards tier status.

An upgrade to Premium does not change your baggage allowance from your original booking.

An upgrade to Business entitles you to the baggage allowance of the cabin, for a maximum of two checked bags. Overweight, excess and oversized bag fees may apply.

Seat space varies by aircraft type. Seats in Premium on flights operated by WestJet Encore and WestJet Link do not have extra legroom or space.

Food and beverages vary depending on aircraft type, flight length, time of day and availability.

Priority check-in, priority airport screening and lounge access are only available at applicable airports.

On-demand dining and turndown service in Business is only applicable on international flights.

If you were carried on your scheduled flight (or on an alternative flight if your scheduled flight was cancelled) in the same cabin that you booked as part of your original booking, and not in a higher cabin, please fill out this form and our Guest Support team will help you with your refund for your upgrade payment.
