Ways to upgrade
There are more ways than ever to upgrade to Premium or Business and enjoy an elevated travel experience.
Before check-in
Submit an offer for Premium or Business cabin between the time of booking and 75 hours before departure. Or lock in your Premium or Business cabin seat with an instant upgrade purchase, available 10 days before your flight.
At check-in
Find Business or Premium cabin seats for purchase when you check in for your flight starting 24 hours before departure (subject to availability).
Terms and conditions
Upgrade fees are on a flight leg segment basis and are non-refundable.
UltraBasic fares are not eligible to purchase an upgrade.
Your original fare rules do not change with an upgraded flight. This includes any rules relating to changes or cancellations.
You can earn WestJet points on upgrade fees, in addition to tier and milestone qualifying spend, on upgrades purchased up to 75 hours prior to departure or at check-in. Any fees paid with WestJet points will not count towards these benefits. Note: At this time, WestJet points and qualifying spend are not awarded on bid upgrades purchased within 24 hours of departure.

Baggage allowance for an upgrade to Premium is the same as your original booking.
An upgrade to Business entitles you to the baggage allowance of the cabin, for a maximum of two checked bags. Overweight, excess and oversized bag fees may apply.
Seat space varies by aircraft type. Seats in Premium on flights operated by WestJet Encore and WestJet Link do not have extra legroom or space.
Food and beverages vary depending on aircraft type, flight length, time of day and availability.
Priority check-in, priority airport screening and lounge access are only available at applicable airports.
On-demand dining in Business is only applicable on international flights.
Upgrade offer or upgrade bid was accepted
If your flight is rescheduled, we’ll do our best to honour your upgrade. If we can’t, you’ll receive a full refund to your original form of payment.
If your flight was cancelled due to an interruption, the amount of your accepted offer will be refunded to your original form of payment.
