First Time in Huatulco

We had a great experience at this resort. It has two pools, an adult pool and a family pool. We were a large group with two children. We were too big a group to be comfortable in the family pool with the children, and they would not allow our children with us in the adult pool. I understand the reason. Our children are older and did not want to be in the "kid" pool without us. Mentioning this in case you are traveling with a large group of mixed ages. Overall, the resort is beautiful. Food options were plenty. Two buffets were delicious. We had dinner at La Fontana and Agave; both were amazing. The location is not far from the airport or from the town. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. Great place to visit!

They need to learn and get knowledge on how to speak to their guest at this resort . I did not like how they handle a situation at all. & wasted of vacation trying to resolve it

My overall experience was OK. It was not wonderful. The best part was the pool activities very fun and entertaining!! Jocelyn was amazing!! The shows need a lot of work. It’s the same show dancing every night just different music, mostly English, crowd looked bored. a little bit of acting would have been nice, and more Spanish music. The worst part was being ripped off by the travel agency inside the hotel. One of the tour guides charged us $1800 pesos For Some digital pictures. They take advantage of you because you’re American. Please be Beware.

Make sure you bring the credit card you paid with because I didn't get an email saying to do so. The jewelry shop has poor service, I don't recommend it. The regular gift shop is good and priced fair. We purchased two outfits for my teen son to wear to the dinner reservation and they had great prices. The rooms are spacious and kept clean. You get daily room serviced, toiletries, and stocked mini bar with water, soda, corona, and coffee. The rooms do not get very cool but I always bring a portable room fan. There is only two plug sockets other than the bathroom so I recommend an extension powerstrip. They give you towel cards because they are very strict on the pool towels. Your room has a safe, blow dryer, mini fridge, toiletries, 3 waters, 3 sodas, 3 beers, nice big soft bath towels, dresser, table and two chairs, two bath robes, closet, two patio chairs and table, and drying rack in the balcony. Restaurant options are dona Rosa and tortuga(outside by pool) for daily buffet. Private restaurant are by reservation and you get three options: mexican, Italian, and sushi. Taxis are about $5 a car ride just about any where with 10-15min range. Swimsuits are allowed in the buffet areas. Long pants are required for males in the private reservation only restaurants. You are greeted at check in with watermelon drink that is delicious!

I would highly recommend Barcelo Huatulco. Our visit to the resort was to celebrate our daughter's fifteenth birthday. Ximena with guest services coordinated, a special and private dinner event at their outdoor location. The night events provided amazing live entertainment.
