The place is located in a wonderful area, the beach is gorgeous and almost all to ourselves, lots of great options to eat, food is delicious, spacious rooms, even the souvenir shop had very nice things at reasonable prices! - But the service and friendliness of the personnel is what won us over, from the bar tenders to the waiters/waitresses, the kitchen staff, the cleaners... they were always asking and providing to make us feel at home. We will make this a yearly trip for sure!
Cdns first visit to México

Nice small, clean resort but caters more to Mexican tourists even though there are a ton of Cdns there. Only 1 elevator working. Ala cartes were excellent but hard to book for a big group of 15 and then they were only half full. We didn’t even find out about the seafood ala carte that is only during the peak season until the last day. Buffets had variety but a lot of traditional cuisine that looked similar. Not a lot for teens to do, boogie boards for the beach and a dance club or hours where they could be in the bar would’ve been nice. Could still find loungers near the pool before 9 when resort was full so there are good amenities. If you have long hair bring conditioner as there is none in the room. A little more information/content in English would be nice for the amount of Cdns there. Update Facebook page or app for what’s coming up instead of watching the screen in the lobby. Dancers, singers, musicians were excellent, but some shows there’s no English. Weather is excellent in this area 29-31 every day. Double beds were very firm. Tip for everything. It was a good vacation but we likely wouldn’t return to that resort.
Great vacation!

Loved our stay, we are beach people and the sun and sand were wonderful. The resort is smaller and comfortable and clean. We were Premium guests and enjoyed the extra perks would recommend the upgrade. This is the place for rest and relaxation it does not have the Cancún party vibe. We will be back thank you Barcelo!
Barceló Huatulco pre covid vs post covid

Our stay at Barceló Huatulco in 2015 was one of our best travel experiences. Unfortunately, upon returning after a decade, we were disappointed to find that the overall hotel atmosphere has significantly declined.

We were here for Christmas and New Year’s, and the NYE event was interesting…… The entertainment was good but it was so hot & hard to walk around as there was tree roots everywhere & very humid out we ended up watching the fireworks from our balcony… plus when we arrived the food was cold. The premium level is not that good to be honest. Yes you get a sea view & mini fridge but the lounge could be better with better cell service, and no blender for blended drinks & service can be very slow or no service at all. The à la carte restaurants are a hit or miss…… the only really excellent one was the Italian. Seafood was very odd. Buffets don’t change very much and we got so sick of the same food almost every single day. Bring your own pillow from home as the hotel ones are flat as cakes….. & have bug bite relief as I got bites galore from sand fleas on the beach. We did do the spa one day and found the employees were extremely friendly & amazing especially on our massages except the gym was right underneath OPENLY so you could easily hear that music during your services and sauna use…… pools are okay with an adult separated area from the children’s except the kids area is too small….. One elevator has been out of service the entire time we’re here and it’s been annoying and no stairwell close to us. We ended up doing a couple tours with a fellow named Oscar Velásquez (Huatulco) and he is the best tour guide in the area and always has water in the back!
