Our WestJet Rewards program is continually evolving, and there is always something new to share. Whether it’s a new feature for a portion of members, or a broader program change applicable to all, you’ll find all the latest program news below.

Starting March 18, 2021, WestJet Rewards Platinum, Gold and Silver members will enjoy top-tier member benefits like preferred seating, complimentary baggage allowance, priority services and lounge access to Delta Sky Club® when flying with Delta. Starting February 10, 2021, WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard primary cardholders can exchange a valid annual World Elite companion voucher for four (4) one-time use lounge access vouchers at WestJet partner lounges. Learn more 

Starting February 10, 2021, a milestone award earned at $6,000 or higher can be exchanged for two Gift of Gold vouchers, allowing Platinum and Gold members to gift Gold status and benefits to friends or family members for use on a round-trip flight, even when not travelling with them. Learn more

As of November 6, 2020, you’ll start to see Member Exclusive fares when you sign in and book your flight online. WestJet Rewards members can now sign in to see savings on more seats on most flights in Economy, Premium and Business cabins. All you require for these great savings is full payment of the base fare in WestJet dollars.

Limited lounge access is beginning to return in select airports. As of May 10, 2021, lounge access is available at the following locations. Please use the links below to confirm operating hours and service adjustments that may be in effect.

As of September 4, 2020, we are making the following changes to provide greater certainty and time for our members:

  1. We’re extending Platinum, Gold and Silver status and tier benefits to December 31, 2021
    • includes lounge and seat selection vouchers issued with the tier
    • changes will be reflected in your account by September 30, 2020
  2. We’re extending current qualifying periods for all members, including those in the Teal tier, to December 31, 2021 to align to the calendar year and provide more time to achieve or retain status
    • all accounts to be updated by October 31, 2020
    • qualifying spend earned in your current period will stay with you so you’ll have a head start to build your spend over the next 16 months

In response to ongoing COVID-19 travel restrictions, the validity period on companion vouchers issued to cardholders of a WestJet RBC® credit card will be extended to June 30, 2021, and vouchers issued to Platinum, Gold and Silver members as a milestone award with a current expiry date between January and June 2021 will be extended to December 31, 2021. All extensions to vouchers will take place by January 31, 2021.

  • Unredeemed WestJet RBC credit card companion vouchers expiring between January 2021 and June 2021 will be extended to June 30, 2021.
  • Unredeemed vouchers issued to Platinum, Gold and Silver members as a milestone award expiring between January 2021 and December 2021 will be extended to December 31, 2021

WestJet’s flexible change and cancellation policy, introduced in response to COVID-19, is applicable to all fare types, including Member Exclusive fares offered to WestJet Rewards members. These special redemption fares, which require the full payment of the base fare with WestJet dollars, must be changed or cancelled through our Contact Centre at 1-888-WESTJET (1-888-937-8538); they cannot be changed online.
