Awful experience January 2026

Sidney R on Jan 08, 2026

Awful pool deck experience, treated like second class citizens. Kicked off our cabana. Reception desk at the pool deck were not friendly or helpful. Glad I “tried” it through Resort pass to see if we would like to stay here in the future. Save your money and your points it’s not worthy the horrible experience from the employees with expectation of our server Helen and Gregg at the pool deck. Called management before 5 pm and Jaime was not aware of the time availability on website. She offered no solution and basically said tough luck. WOW…now I know why all here employees are horrible that support the pool deck. I paid for my family to be here plus the cabana…NEVER AGAIN. I will be staying elsewhere in my future travels…be ware they don’t care about the customer. I spend plenty of money with Hyatt all over US and elsewhere and will never again. Don’t stay here, also many guest within the hotel stated they hated their stay here… not worth the money.

Such a wonderful place

What an experience! Just pulling up to the entrance with the trees decorated with lights. Gorgeous lobby, very nice rooms. The tiered pool system provided a feeling of private settings. Shout out to Steve at breakfast and Don at Tidepools.

From the welcome that Victor extended to the midnight champagne toast my NYE staycation at the Hyatt was an exceptional treat.

Nice property

Stayed at the Hyatt over Christmas. Really nice hotel with several swimming pools. They have an adult pool with the Capt's Bar which was very nice. The rooms are a good size with a big bathroom. There are two wings, shipwreck wing which is by the pools, and the Poipu wing, which is quieter but a quite a hike from the front desk and lobby. Tide Pools is there main restaurant. We were unable to eat there over Christmas because they were completely booked two months in advance, so we had Christmas dinner somewhere else. You will need a car rental from the airport since the Hyatt is a half an hour drive away. also, the better beach is Poipu beach which is a short drive from there. There are several eating options not to far away. There is a hotel shuttle that will take you there if it's not to far away.

Wonderful

What a stunning and beautiful resort! The pools are excellent, the room was beautiful with a wonderful ocean and pool view. The pools are awesome btw, but I didn't fly all the way from Boston to use a swimming pool. My only issue is that Shipwreck Beach isn't really swimmable or at least not recommended. Tidepools Restaurant was really great and the hotel staff are very nice. There are some better beaches a short walk away at Poipu and on the Heritage Trail. Overall I think this was the most beautiful resort hotel that I have ever stayed at and highly recommend it. Kauai is stunning and the people are very kind. I hope that they don't ruin it with overdevelopment and maintain the open farmland.
