Had a great time! Would definitely go back!

This is such a beautiful resort. Is there growing pains, yes. But overall just beautiful. Food was excellent, rooms were beautiful, the view was breathtaking. We watched dolphins and whales from our balcony. Housekeeping needs a bit more work. We didn’t always have towels or something was missed. Sweeping or vacuuming should be done daily too which it wasn’t. Our mini fridge was only refilled once and then we had to ask for it to be filled again which was really disappointing. Especially with water. Didn’t leave enough for us. Loved the restaurants. No complaints there. Maybe a bit short staffed again but hopefully that changes. Quieter resort. Great family resort. Felt super safe here. There were shows on the weekend but not during the week. They had karaoke one night and bingo a few nights. They set up a few casino tables too. We were here during a quiet week so maybe it changes when it’s busy. Ocean is not swimmable. Beautiful but not swimmable.
Good but not amazing

The resort is good but not amazing. It’s quiet, laid back, with lots of food and relaxation. It’s just lacking extras, the special little touches, and staff engagement. The resort is clean but a little drab lacking colour. This place is for those who want to have peace and quiet and stay at the resort full time. The good: - food (lamb at the Italian place was amazing) - quiet - clean - lots of chairs and umbrellas The average: - drink service is slow. Only one waiter per bar at most times. - we have a strong suspicion that the liquour is watered down. It’s fine but you can tell it’s not full strength. - rooms are fine. We were in the premium section and it was ok but not special. I’m not really sure what extras we were supposed to get. - the evening shows are average The bad: - you will never go in the ocean. There is a permanent no swimming sigh and the red flags are always out. - some servers don’t really care - lack of signs , instructions, activities. There were some situations where a sign would have explained a lot. - too remote. It’s too costly to get into town.

Mazatlan 2026 family vacation

Hi Tina, got home safe thanks! Pros: Food was good for an AI (we have stayed at 2 other Dreams, Karisma, Planet Hollywood and Palace resorts and well as RIU Palace) I would compare it to food on a celebrity cruise. Maybe a notch better. Not all the restaurants were good but Oceana and Portofino were decent as well as anything made fresh in the Buffet (fish and meat were grilled fresh to order and good quality) we ate mahi mahi and salmon most days. Steak was decent as well. Not AAA beef but good for an AI. Coffees and pastries at the coffee shop were very good. The food here was about what I would have rated for Karisma resorts back when we went years ago. Drinks were good and wine was Chilean and decent. Good enough red that I drank it everyday with dinner. Room service was also good. Ice cream bar was terrible. Beach and pool/lazy river I would rate as excellent. Water slides were fun and lifeguards were always on duty, fun entertainment team in terms of pool activities Cons: some people might not like the location. We were close to airport but far from everything else. This didn’t bother me cause I knew when I booked. It cost 500 peso to go to stone island by cab and we also did a city tour that included drop off and pick up at our hotel for 45USD per person. I would say both were worth it Spa: My massage was great. Daughters facial was mid at best. Very expensive pricing but beautiful spa. Golf: expensive but good. Balls are super expensive $20 USD for 3 balls so tell your customers to bring their own Nexus tours: good on the way in. Flight time changed and they would NOT take us later. Cabbed back to airport for 550 peso Staff: This seemed to bother some guests but it didn’t bother us. Worst English out of any resort we have been to so may be difficult to communicate if you aren’t tech savvy and can Google Translate. No welcome drink (a Canadian couple we met complained about this to us but we didn’t care about this either, it would have been nice but it seemed like consistency with things like missing welcome drink/some missed days for housekeeping did bother some people) Housekeeping: hit or miss. They did miss 2 days but when I requested it on the app they came right away. Most days they also came for turn down service. Night Entertainment: this really sucked so might bother some guests. They had dancers most nights but they weren’t very good Bottom line: great resort for older people, families but not good if you want to party. It was not busy or a party atmosphere at all. Maybe 30 percent occupancy at most. Very quiet. We would definately go back here if there was another great deal. Staff: some of the standouts in terms of great service and hospitality Sandra and Guillermo-omelette chef and crepe chef Florentino-World Cafe Pedro-host (go see him in the lobby if you are interested at all in doing the Vacation Club presentation in exchange for golf/spa)
