Nice place but stay was disappointing

Spent a lot of times wandering around… The staff was too busy to help you, which is understandable considering the size… Restaurants were full and prices were outrageous… I think you could probably stay somewhere in the surrounding area and maybe visit Opryland with someone who’s been there who could safely guide you around… I had people asking me where their room was and wandering in circles… They need to have staff on hand to assist people in navigating this facility
Lovely holiday experience

We just departed from a December 30-January 2 stay with our family of 5. We had a great time! The rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the atriums and indoor grounds were breathtaking, and the water park was more enjoyable than expected. We would give out stay 5/5…except for the food options and prices, and the prices for the Christmas activities. The restaurants all had 2 hour waits unless you booked reservations days, if not weeks, in advance, and the alternative options were pizza and burgers, also with long lines and high prices. We only located one place where we could get a salad, sandwiches, fruit or yogurt, and the selections were quite limited and pricey. We did walk over to Opry Mills mall which had options, also with exceptionally long lines. Our visit was during a peak time, so the food issues are not entirely the fault of the resort. The paid Christmas activities were fun, but expensive. The price does keep the crowds at a minimum, so there’s that! There are plenty of Christmas-themed things to see that are free, and the decorations are everything we expected and more. The New Year’s Eve event was free and a fun time. The water park is smaller than the Kalaharis, but clean, well planned and enjoyable. The adults-only swim and bar area was great! The boat ride is a must-do, and we all enjoyed exploring the paths, bridges, waterfalls, plants, fish and fountains - - truly breathtaking. I did trip on an uneven sidewalk outside, fell and scraped myself up pretty well. I am notoriously clumsy, so I say this not as a complaint but as an advisory to the less-than-graceful like myself. Overall a beautiful hotel and great experience for us all. I would highly recommend anyone to come visit at least once, even if just to walk around the nine acres of botanical beauty.
