The people are the worst!!

The people are horrible. The service very mediocre!! And birds with breakfast and lunch no good!! The bartender at the swim up bar threw the drink at me … Dirty linen!!! Wake up one morning to 10 cats just lounging around .. I have more but ….. the workers all need customer service training!
Disappointing Substitution

This was a last minute substitute since our booking in Jamaica was canceled due to hurricane damage. We found the resort dated. The food was okay at best. The steakhouse we waited for an hour between the appetizers and steak. It arrived cold and almost all gristle. On our dinner at the beach they confirmed the menu but at the dinner they pulled the main was not available. They missed one of the courses. The three bathrooms around the pool were constantly closed so you had to trek to the lobby bathrooms. All in all I can say is very disappointed overall.
Trapped!

Just arrived today to the property. After three hours, we definitely know this is not what we expected. We climbed three floors to get to a smelly, moldy room. For this to be a Marriott property it was aligned with a Fairfield Hotel and not the all inclusive with a casino onsite the marketing implied. Tried to get past that by going to lunch. More disappointment. Burger half cooked and mostly local cuisine. I booked through Marriott who said it was up to the local property after you have checked in. After speaking to the manager of Guest Services, I began to get a strong feeling of being trapped. After all they make you pay in total at check in. She said fill out the papers, and after 21 days we will let you know if you get any portion of a refund back and how much that will be. This was meant to be a special trip, Birthday, Anniversary and Retirement. I could suck it up and be miserable but, who does that!? Part II November 23, 2025 Went through Marriott to mediate. The agreed to only charge one night and would refund the difference. To date, no refund! This has been the worst experience ever! Told Marriott what would ever possess you to attach your brand to this property! I am Marriott Vacation Club since 2011, Platinum Elite and a loyal customer. This was definitely not the Marriott way! More to come!

Spent Nov 9 to 16 with 10 friends in the Diamond club. Very good resort and experience. Would rate it a 4* and could be a 5* if food and ala carte service was improved Pros: -Staff are excellent -Spa (pic of outside attached) (massage, hydrotherapy and relaxation rooms) is excellent. You can likely book the "daily specials" cheaper than the 20% Diamond experience. You get one hydrotherapy hour with Diamond, and also one with any spa treatment, so we enjoyed it twice. -Fitness classes are great. Daily yoga at 9am (pic attached), TRx or boot camp at 10, aquafit at 11.30 and aquacycle at 2.30. Juan Carlos and Mr Chely are fantastic. -beach is beautiful and wave surfing very fun. There is some seaweed at times but doesn't detract from the vacation. Ample beach loungers and shade in the Diamond section. -Diamond lounge is great (8am to 11 pm) for drinks, coffee and tea, snacks and washroom, nicely air-conditioned. -Diamond (open air) beach bar and lunch spot has the best food on the property Loved having our lunch there (sushi, calamari, wings, salads, fish and chips, steak sandwiches with such great fresh foccacia). Servers are wonderful and Carlos is the BEST bartender. He made us surprise special drinks on our last day. -foam party was SO FUN! The most foam snd balloons I've ever seen at a foam party. REY (Gin Tonic) and his team do a great job with the entertainment. -room ocean view (building 1, floor 3 - pic attached) was fantastic, balcony great to sun on and watch the pool action, and room was comfortable with lots of storage. Room cleaners work hard, and bed, towels & mini bar were refreshed daily. - Diamond champagne in room was nice champagne. - grounds very clean. Not a lot of trees or flowers but that didn't detract from the setting. Some maintenance going on as well that didn't detract and they need to continue to upgrade areas. - this smaller resort was very walkable, with everything closeby. CONS: - food could be better in the buffet. The buffet is open air and very hot (and dark at night) and some tables (the round ones) are falling apart. But lots of salad, meat and cheese options for me being a pre-diabetic. And great seafood and salmon as well. - ala carte service could also be better. Food was often lukewarm or even cold, and servers seemed overworked and unorganized. They were trying their best but it just wasn't the level of service we've received at other 18+ resorts. Service in the sushi/seafood ala carte was the exception. He was wonderful. - lighting in the room building stairwells and on stairs near Diamond club lounge should be improved/installed for safety. We arrived when it was dark and almost tripped several times while making our way around the resort.

We had an incredible stay at Royalton CHIC Punta Cana! The beach was gorgeous, clean, and perfect for relaxing, and the entertainment kept the energy high every day and night. The service was excellent across the entire resort, but a special shoutout goes to our butler, Super G, who truly went above and beyond. He made the entire trip even more amazing with his attention to detail and warm, friendly personality. Highly recommend this resort—can’t wait to come back!
