This is a great Resort not just for the amenities or the shows every night to entertain you, it’s the service they provide to you starting with your personal Concierge and Personal Butler that make sure your needs are met while you are there, this time my concierge’s was Enrique Mota and my Butler Aristy both together make a great team they made sure my Birthday vacation was special that’s why I gave them 5 stars, well deserved

Long, but Honest!

Latasha H on Jul 19, 2024

????Long, but honest review ???? Dates of stay: July 9-14, 2024 Room: 8204 Comparison: Royalton Negril Overall rating: 2.5/5 Travel reason: 1st Marriage Anniversary First off, let me say this is not a PARTY resort. If you are looking for somewhere to TURN UP, this is not where you want to be. This resort is more for rest and relaxation, with a hint of lit! Service: 4.5/5 When we got to the resort we were greeted with tons of smiling faces, grabbing our bags and presented us with a beetroot based non-alcoholic drink to cool off. The wait for check-in was quiet a bit, but it was a lot of people coming in at the time. There is no air conditioning (not unusual for a beach resort), but it was HOT and they didn't have fans, either. Nonetheless checking in was pretty seamless. However, my room was not ready so they sent us to eat lunch and when we returned a half hour later, it was ready. When we arrived to our room, housekeeping was literally walking out of the door, perfect timing. The room smelled of cleaning products with a hint of mildew (also not super uncommon). The fan in our room didn't work so we told the concierge and they got the mechanical team directly out there, unfortunately the fan was busted and they were unable to fix it. Luckily we didn't end up needing it due to our A/C working more than perfectly. Room: 3/5 It's a room. Previous stay at Royalton Negril, we had DC and a swim-up room, so that was what we were comparing it to, but baby it was NOT what I was expecting. My husband called it a "High-class Motel"??. The bathroom was very small: toliet room had a door, but if your a bigger person, it's not comfortable, so we opted to keep the door open for a more comfortable fit. The shower was decent, and able to fit us both inside fairly comfortable, no issue. Our closet door was off track and broken so I couldn't open it, but my husband could. In the hallway leading to the rooms there was a nice breeze. There can definitely be some.updates to the hallways, which has chipped paint, some missing wall tiles and a stinch of mildew. (I do know due to humidity and rain, this sometimes happens, but it should be addressed.) Food/Drink: 2.5/5 We are vegetarian and as such there were not many options for us. When we stayed in Negril, they had tons of vegetables and veggie substitutes, here we had to make due with sides. My husband's best friend and wife, who eat meat, came with us, they enjoyed 50% of their food. I will say that the veggie burgers were great!(you can ask the cooks for it and they'll cook them.) We were disappointed that when ordering room service the veggie burger was never them same. Second night we ordered and it was like a chickpea mush burger 0/10. They need to be consistent with what they provide in room service. Snack bar- had wraps that were good, but you had to eat them right away because they would get SOGGY 2 minutes after being sent to the table (both veggie and chicken). On the plus side, they had fried cheese that was phenomenal! Alcohol: 3/5 Depending on which bar you went to and who was bartending, depended on whether or not your drink would be juice or drank! The inside/lobby bar seemed to mostly have good drinks. Luckily we bought liquor from duty free in the airport and added to our drinks, otherwise we didn't even get a buzz. Parties/Music: 2/5 Foam party was LIT! 4/5 but it was soooo much foam, it got a bit hard to breathe at times. This was more 90s R&B and rap, which was cool and set the vibe, but then it was back to.... The same music was played EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!! The Vibe Team did a good job of trying to get the crowd involved, but after day 2 hearing the same music and seeing the same dance moves from the team was annoying. The activities and games were fun and we won a bottle of something that was NASTY, others won wine, and our friends win a 29 minute massage. Parties end at 10pm.on the dot. The music entertainer was okay, but the choice of songs was ONLY 80s rock, which don't get me wrong is cool, but it was not catered to the crowd and again it was the same every night, just a different outfit. We did realize last night that there was a sports bar (right in the lobby) where the music doesn't stop til 1am, but we didn't realize it, so I have no information on that, besides it was quiet on the outside, so I can't imagine too much was happening on the inside. Beach: 4/5 I LIVE FOR THE BEACH! It's my happy place. The beach did not disappoint. We utilized the beach everyday! Sitting under the cabanas enjoying the waves! The water was rough 3 days but just watching was fine. There was a lot of seaweed washed up on shore, but once you got in the water it mostly cleared up. Beware! There were tons of holes in the sea bottom that you could trip on, so I'd say just be careful. But we had a great time! The flags were yellow the entire time we were there and at one point RED but it's hurricane season, so that was expected. The lifeguards made sure to kick folks out of the water for safety and I loved that because sometimes I didn't think they were paying attention, but that showed they were! There were, as expected, hagglers on the beach, but the took no for an answer. Except the guy with the damn iguana whi was obnoxious as hell! Pool: should be cleaned more often as it was a lot of hair at the bottom that would get wrapped in ya toes, we didn't like that AT ALL! We did a tour of the Diamond Club side and the rooms were fabulous! There lobby was extremely small compared to the Negril location. Other than that I don't think there was anything different between regular and DC (obviously the butlers!). My husband and I got sick on night 2 of our trip. Not sure what it was. Yes, we were drinking. Yes, we had our own alcohol. Yes, we had swam in the ocean and pool. But none of that us abnormal for us. When I say we were sick, I mean he was throwing up, I had bubble guts, then we swapped. We ended up having to cancel our charter fishing trip and stayed in bed the entire day 3. The only thing we can chuck our sickness up to is brushing our teeth day 1 with the sink water! DO NOT USE SINK WATER! My husband's wife got sick the last night, again we don't know why. Quick Important Recommendation from our travel team: 1- Do not Drink Tap Water as it's not filtered, use bottles of water to brush your teeth however the water they serve at the hotel including the ice is all filtered and good for consumption. 2- Only use your credit cards safely at the hotel reception and through your Amstar Rep. Avoid Beach vendors as you can be scammed. 3- Only take 2 or 3 drinks of any beverages that has coconut cream in it (Pinacolada, Banana mama's, coco loco and others, coconut cream is a natural laxative and could make you stomach sick if you take too many. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel for partying, its more chill and relaxation. However, for an adults only resort I expected so much more. I will not be returning. But as always check it out for yourself, it maybe your speed, but it wasn't ours. Happy traveling!!!

AMAZING STAY at Royalton Chic Punta Cana!!!

Meander61364304908 on Jul 16, 2024

My cousin and I just got back from a 9-day trip at this resort and we had a blast! Here are the highlights from the trip: 1. Vibe Team: The entertainment team at the hotel (aka Vibe Team) was amazing!!!! They definitely made our trip. They were always energized and got the crowd participating, and by the end of the trip they were talking to us like family! We were sad to leave them!!! Special Shoutout to Justin, Francesco, Pedro, Angel, Andy, Panda, Jean Luis, DJ La Felfa and more!!! 2. Staff: Similar to the vibe team, the hotel staff was excellent. From day one we were greeted with a smile and everyone was very accommodating to any and all requests. The service by the pool bar was excellent even though we didn’t have diamond club status (shoutout to Meybi for taking care of us)!!! 3. Activities/Entertainment: Overall the entertainment was great!! There were themed parties every night and different activities throughout the day by the pool (competitions, fitness classes, dance classes, etc). The entertainment is really what you make of it. If you want to chill, then there are definitely places/times where you can do that. But if you want more games, music/dancing and activities, then there is time for that as well. 4. Food: We initially read mixed reviews about the food, but we thought it was great (although I will preface that we are not foodies by any means so opinions may vary depending on who you talk to). My cousin and I have been to other all-inclusive resorts and the buffet was not nearly as good as this one. And the specialty restaurants were delicious (hunter steakhouse and Vespa were ones that we tried). The Cloud 9 specialty restaurant costs extra but is worth it- they treat you to a multi-course meal and the service is amazing. 5. Crowd: Since we stayed for 9 days, we got to see a lot of different groups coming through the hotel. Most of the people were either in large groups or couples, but everyone was very open to socializing/making friends outside of their group if that interests you. Also, depending on the crowd that is there that week then there may be more or less participation than usual, but if you get a good crowd then everyone gets really into the activities! 6. Property: The property itself has a smaller footprint than other all-inclusive resorts (the beach is small and the property itself is very walkable) so if you’re looking for huge buildings and enormous expansive beaches then other resorts may be able to provide more of that. But for the size of this resort I thought it was beautiful. There was a main pool where people would hang out everyday, but there were a couple of other pools as well (2 smaller ones and a rooftop pool for diamond club members). The rooms are also on the smaller side but they were very nice and clean (shoutout to the cleaning crew who did a great job)!

Very Bad Hotel

Chantal M on Jul 12, 2024

This hotel is nothing of what they show on the web site anyone that would tell you it is good they are not normal,we got there on July 6 2024 for 1 week Honeymoon, first when we got there to the hotel at 3h30 pm are room was not ready, they sent us to eat then we got the key to our room, first the room not even on the resort, the room mirror was missing pieces, the beer cans in the fridge were all rusty and sticky, also no air conditioning, television not working, shower head leaking everywhere except where it is supposed to,so we went and spoke to front desk manager no Help what so ever we even ask to upgrade and they wanted $300 US dollars a night more and nothing before the following Tuesday,so we spend the night in a very hot and sticky room, morning after made it to buffet well forget Buffet it is so hot in that place no AC,and staff rude to women,we made it to the pool and in the bottom of the pool there is pieces of ceramic tiles falling also the bar area all ceramic falling also, this place is from the 1970 that is not a CHIC hotel or not even a 1 STAR , i am sure a cheap motel would have been better. The hotel room was only missing the 25 cent vibrating bed,do not ever go to that Hotel, and they should rename the hotel to Royalton CHIT Punta Cana . Me and my husband and another couple ended up getting another hotel we left on the Sunday 7 July and we all end up at the Majestic Elegance Punta Cana it is an amazing and unbelievable hotel. The staff and everything is good . When they heard our story they upgraded us to the Elegance club. They gave us a honeymoon we will never forget.
