Even a medical emergency couldn’t stop us from having an exceptional time!

We stayed at CRT from November 29th to December 5th, and without hesitation, this was one of the best resort experiences we’ve ever had. From start to finish, the staff were nothing short of phenomenal. Their warmth, kindness, and genuine care for guests is truly exceptional and unlike anything we’ve experienced elsewhere. Every interaction felt personal, sincere, and driven by a real desire to make our stay perfect. The resort itself is absolutely stunning. The grounds are immaculately maintained, the beach is breathtaking with calm waves and the most beautiful turquoise water, and the overall atmosphere is pure paradise. The food exceeded our expectations - consistently delicious, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully prepared. Evening entertainment was outstanding and easily among the best we’ve ever seen at an all-inclusive resort. While the rooms are slightly dated, they are very spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, we experienced a medical emergency during our stay, and this is where the resort truly shined. The staff’s response was immediate, calm, and incredibly professional. Lifeguards arrived right away, the resort doctor was contacted instantly, and an ambulance was on site within 20–25 minutes. Beyond the logistics, the compassion, reassurance, and genuine concern shown by the staff was deeply moving. In a very stressful situation, they made us feel safe, supported, and truly cared for. We will forever be grateful to them. A quick word of advice to travelers in general: always ensure you have proper insurance coverage. One night at the hospital was $10K USD, although the care we received there was absolutely exceptional - far beyond anything we’ve experienced in Canada or the U.S. Despite this unexpected situation, our vacation was nothing short of incredible. We would return to this magical resort in a heartbeat and recommend it without hesitation to anyone considering a stay. This was my third Catalonia property and my husband’s first, and by far, this location is our absolute favorite. This resort and its remarkable staff have left a lasting impression on us, and we cannot wait to return.

The resort is stunning and very relaxing. Staff is amazing and so is the food. Rooms were very nice. Would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for an adults only resort that is small.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The buildings are large, concrete, and unattractive, with a very outdated and depressing atmosphere. While the reception looks fairly modern, the rest of the property feels poorly maintained. The rooms are described as renovated, but the design is basic and lacks any charm. The hotel name is misleading, as it is located about 45 km from Tulum. Reaching Tulum by taxi is extremely expensive (around €130 one way), which makes it difficult to explore the area and leaves guests largely confined to the resort. The beachfront location could have been a highlight, but the beach is public and often crowded. The surrounding area is messy and does not match the hotel’s promotional photos. The pool area looks nice, but loud music plays throughout the day, and the surface around the pool is uneven and slippery. Food was the biggest disappointment. The menu is very limited and repetitive, and the overall quality is poor. The à la carte restaurants did not meet expectations, especially the Asian restaurant, where the dishes were simply not enjoyable. One positive aspect was the hotel staff, particularly at the buffet. They were friendly, helpful, and professional despite the overall issues. During my stay, I became seriously ill with stomach problems. Although the hotel arranged a doctor, all costs were my responsibility, and no further support or follow-up was offered. Overall, this hotel does not live up to its advertised standard. There are many better options in Mexico for a similar price. I would not recommend staying here.
