The food was absolutely terrible. I survived on cold hot dogs and apples. All meats were so fatty they had to be spit out. Beautiful location but thats all they got going for them. Rooms were dated and falling apart.

The staff is not knowledgeable of the property, the food was gross at the buffets, it was hard to get reservations at any other restaurants, the rooms were dated and worn out, there was not enough space to unload 4 peoples clothes, they ran out of food at some buffets, pool bar at the Riviera Maya was so slow and they could not understand the drinks.

We had a family reunion at the Barcelo Maya Beach. We have been going to the Barcelo since 2003 and have never been disappointed. It truly is a very special resort and a wonderful place for all age groups. I would highly recommend the Barcelo to anyone traveling to the area.
An excellent conclusion to our tour discovering the Mayan ruins.

We stayed at the Barcelo Maya Resot at the end of a tiring tour of the Mayan ruins and really enjoyed being able to relax on the beach or by the pool. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Highly recommended.

This is our fourth trip to this Hotel. We always enjoy the customer friendly service, amenities and attitude of the staff. This is a nice hotel to visit for a short trip.
