Starting October 31, 2019, Platinum, Gold and Silver members may be eligible to receive a last-minute upgrade at the boarding gate when seats in the next higher cabin remain open.

  • Gate upgrades from Economy to Premium is an extension of the current benefit which provides upgrades prior to check-in with the purchase of an eligible fare. A second round of upgrades closer to departure provides even more opportunities for a Premium experience.
  • Those who purchase a Premium fare on flights between Calgary and Toronto on our state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner may also be eligible for an upgrade to a spacious pod in the Business cabin.

Didn’t receive an upgrade prior to check-in? You may still be eligible to receive a last-minute upgrade at the boarding gate when seats in a higher cabin remain open. When available, upgrades will be automatically allocated to Platinum, Gold and Silver members in priority order by tier, starting with Platinum, and then by eligible fare. The only action required of you is to have an eligible booking, check in a minimum of 75 minutes prior to departure (either online or at the airport) to ensure your booking is captured on the priority list, and to listen for your name to be called by the Customer Service Agent when you arrive at the gate. There's no need to ask the Agent, in fact, approaching the desk may hinder efforts for an on-time departure.

  • Valid on single-guest reservations only where guest is a Platinum, Gold or Silver member; not available on reservations with two or more guests on the itinerary, regardless of tier status of other guests.
  • Upgrades will be from the cabin purchased to the next higher available cabin (i.e. Economy to Premium, or Premium to Business). Upgrades from the Economy cabin directly to the Business cabin are not available.

  • All complimentary upgrades at the gate will be facilitated through the above process; requests for upgrades outside of the above criteria or priority order, either at the airport or on board the aircraft, are not available.
  • Members who receive an upgrade to a higher cabin will enjoy the same inflight service as all other guests, however, dining options may be limited when a complimentary upgrade has been provided.
  • If a member wishes to be excluded from receiving all future complimentary upgrades (both prior to check-in and at the gate) they must contact us by email to make the request. Please allow up to 30 days for your member information to be removed from our automated processes.
