Not the Dream I expected

I have been to other dreams resorts...this one is really old. Small pools, can't find chairs outside. Don't buy into the hype of upgrades. The picture of the beach, not there. Was taken out by a storm last year. Was though, nice water once you got in, around the large rocks. Rooms are average, kept clean Buffet really small. Speciality restaurants were very good. Wait staff were really good.
Great staff, excellent service

We had an incredible experience at Dreams Sands. The service was quick and the staff was always looking at the small details. They had everything perfected. We loved the Explorers Club for our 4 year old son. He loved teacher Itzel who was so incredibly kind and welcoming. He never wanted to be picked up from the kids club because he was having so much fun! Great staff!
We didn’t want to leave!!!!

We love everything about this resort! It’s beautiful and most of all, the service is amazing! We were well taken care of by Gercon and Misael.
A beautifully transformed resort with outstanding service!

We had visited this property a few years ago and were truly IMPRESSED by how much it has been enhanced! It is now an absolutely beautiful resort from top to bottom. The beach is outstanding crystal clear turquoise water and exactly what you imagine when you think of Cancún. We found ourselves spending most of our time there because it’s so relaxing. Even so, the resort itself remains impeccably clean — it’s amazing how you can enjoy the beach and still not find sand once you step back inside. The restaurants are impeccable, offering great quality and variety, and housekeeping does a phenomenal job keeping everything spotless throughout the stay. TIP: I highly recommend upgrading to the Preferred Club. The lounge offers beautiful views and is a wonderful place to relax, find some peace, and feel truly pampered. What really elevates this property is the team and leadership, plus you have access to the "Patio" restaurant in the mornings that is away from the bustle of the main buffet with menu plated options. Shoutout to José, the General Manager, does an incredible job and is very present throughout the resort, always attentive to details and ensuring everything runs smoothly! We also appreciated Paul, the Entertainment Manager and his team that bring great energy and fun to the guest experience! My 3 year old daughter adored the kids club, which also allowed myself and her Dad to relax, child free, and relaxed knowing that she was content! This resort delivers a truly high-quality experience, and we would absolutely return and recommend it to anyone visiting Cancún.
Awesome ocean & service!

First of all, thank you to Abraham the beach server, Manuela the beach server, and Laura the lounge server. Find them!! We travelled with a group of families with 24 people in total, including young kids. They will take care of you, but take care of them too! They worked their butts off bringing us food and drinks despite copious amounts of blended drinks and duplicate food requests for the kids…and many, many drinks for the adults too ;) Thanks for all the Diet Cokes and waters, from Carly from Calgary! Shout out to Angie and the entertainment crew who kept the vibes and energy high all day a night. Hola Angie!!! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the elevators were painfully slow at times (though when one of them was out of order it seemed like they had maintenance on it immediately and it was fixed quickly). Some of the buttons were broken or labelled incorrectly, but oh well, just kind of funny. We were on the 5th floor, and our kids are 4 and 8 so stairs are tough, lol. And the air freshener in the bathrooms...over the top. Our group agreed that it’s not a bad idea to have air fresheners in the bathrooms but they could tone it down a notch. The machines that dispensed it would go off multiple times during a trip to the bathroom. But these things are not the end of the world or deal breakers in my opinion. We used private transportation but the location is perfect for wanting to get to a resort quickly from the airport (about 30 mins). I'm not sure it's worth upgrading to preferred, we didn't use the pool or preferred facilities. There is a nice big bathroom on the 1st floor which is accessible to everyone. We changed here before our later afternoon pickup/departure. They were ALWAYS cleaning at this resort. They met my hopes & expectations here. Thank you to the housekeeping staff - I think they're often missed here because we don't interact with them, but ours was appreciated and I hope they know that! There was a wedding one night which had a live band and sounded like they were right in our room, but it ended promptly just before 10pm. It might help to communicate this (maybe on the app) that there's an event and when it will conclude so people have an idea what to expect there. The food was decent, though I only eat nachos and the odd taco, lol. My family was content with it. Lots of options and not having to reserve restaurants ahead of time (except if you want to book the hibachi table at the Japanese restaurant) was nice. They give you a buzzer so you're not tied down. We started the day with donuts (for the kids) and lattes (for mom & dad) and often ended with ice cream for the kids at the cafe. Thank you to the staff there too!!
