We are just back from our Second Couples Sans Souci Christmas & New Year Holiday, having enjoyed being there last year and like many guests were a little unsure of what to expect after the devastion of Hurricane Mellisa. However, I am pleased to report, ALLs GOOD there, in fact very little damage was noticeable, nor too in the selection , and quality of food offerings or availability, the Staff were pleased to see you back, so is JAMAICA too, as it needs a lot of support to help the Country rebuild. The same amount of effort went into Christmas and the New Years Eve festivities too, as was last years. This year the Party was held on the main lawn, as is the weekly gala. The theme of this years New Years party was , Echoes of Dandyism, and Staff went all out again in Costumes and a themed presentation, You will have the pleasure of meeting other nice couples here too at the Galas, As returning Guests we had the " Returners Dinner " invitation too, which was held in the Palazzina reataurant, as so many people return year after year, The room we had was very much the same as previous year, and kept well by the housekeeper, mini bar stocked daily too, The only downside this year was a few day windy and showers, some days torrential rain, but climate changes around the world are unpredictable everywhere now. Free watersports are still fully available too, with a friendly Crew to assist you, same Guys from last years, and PADI Course is still FREE too!, so make the most of them, If you want to STEP UP your Holiday, this is the place to go, theres plenty of Steps for you too, but if you can survive the flight and journey from Montego Bay, you'll be fine, we are in our 70's now and we coped!! LoL, just about! The Hotel even provides a Complimentary cool bag, with water a Cereal Bars for the return Airport Run! All in all, good quality value, fun Staff, see you again soon! Thank you Sans Souci!

Honestly, just really tired and disappointed. 40th anniversary, a full year of saving and planning, 14 hour travel day, and arrived to a downgraded room. I hate the room game. Wish I’d booked elsewhere. At least I’m with my favorite person. Hoping for a better tomorrow.
Not terrible, but not great

I hate to write a review like this, but these are all things I wish I would have known before coming to this resort. This was our tenth trip to Jamaica and our first time visiting a Couples resort. We love this island, the people, and all it has to offer. Given Couples is a bit more affordable than our usual brand, we decided to give it a try hoping we would love it. We were really looking forward to our five night stay. I'll start with the positives. Check in was a breeze. We are beach people, so when we were put into building B, third floor, we were happy. Short walk to the water! The room was very spacious, and we appreciated the double vanity in the bathroom. The people who work there are so incredibly kind, for the most part. We only had one issue, which I'll address later. But overall, the staff there is fantastic! Although we were close to the main beach, we didn't end up hanging out there. We preferred the AN beach, which was MUCH larger. We always got to the AN beach around 8:30 and they always had plenty of chairs available on both the beach and around the pool. No chair game! Another plus-each chair had its own floatie! Towels-they give them to you in your room, or if you go to the AN beach they will just give them to you there. No waiting for towel towers to be stocked each morning! Big plus! The food was great! We ordered room service for breakfast each day, had lunch at the buffet at the AN each day, then had dinner at Palazzina, Bella Vista, and Casanova. No complaints there! Now for the bad, which I hate to write. Dinner-we only got to eat at a restaurant three out of the five nights. One night they only provide dinner on the lawn. The other night you had to have dinner at the NYE party they threw. My husband and I go on these vacations to be together, not eat at a table with everyone else. During the day we are all about having a good time, chatting with others, and playing games (like BINGO at the pool for example) but dinners we like to have to ourselves. It would be nice if they kept at least one restaurant open, even if it's the buffet, for those of us who would like quieter nights. We ordered room service and ate in our room. There were no robes, but there were hangers that said something like, "Keep it and we will charge you $, or leave it." I went to the front desk and told them we had no robes, just for them to tell us they aren't available for our room. When I told them about the hanger they said someone put it there by mistake. When I pushed more, they finally called housekeeping and had them deliver a couple. I know it's small, but these small things add up. In room liquor-they provided Smirnoff and rum. When we went to request Grey Goose they wanted $102 and $30-something for Appleton Signature. Just something to note if you like those brands. The main beach was incredibly crowded, imo. The sand there was nicer than the AN beach, but we would take the rocky sand over the crowds any day. The sand at the AN beach needs a good raking. We found glass on more than one occasion, so be careful. Also, this isn't a complaint, but the AN beach doesn't have beach service, really. We were asked twice at our chairs if we wanted anything. The pool bar stays busy so the bartenders can't really get away to provide it. It was never an issue for us though-it gave us a chance to get up and be social. We were there over NYE. The staff there worked incredibly hard putting this party together, which was great. However, again, I wish they would have left something open for guests who didn't want to join in. They closed down ALL the bars and restaurants-you could only eat or drink if you went to the party. We ordered our food from a lunch restaurant and had an early dinner that night, so we made the best of it. However, that particular day our room wasn't restocked with bottles of water. We asked FOUR TIMES for water, and even went down to the front desk to get some. They never brought us water. To us, that's ridiculous. Know that if you stay in the B building it will be loud at night. I tried uploading a video of how loud it was even with the door closed but I'm unable to. The sound was making our room vibrate. We asked to be moved but were told they were at full capacity. The front desk person didn't even look at her screen so we figured she just didn't want to deal with it. We also spoke with someone who had checked in that day who was told they were only at 90% capacity. Unfortunately I think the Couples brand is a one and done for us. Other resorts we have stayed seem to go above and beyond to make their guests happy and comfortable and Couples simply didn't seem make their guests a priority. It felt like we were more of a number for them. I've seen many say they are repeat guests time and time again, which is great for them. I'm happy they're making you happy. But for us, there were just too many things missing for us to want to return.
Couples San Souci is beautiful

Couples Sans Souci is a gorgeous resort with a lush, tropical feel that immediately puts you at ease. The striking blue sea mixed with vibrant green foliage creates a picture-perfect setting throughout the property. From many locations around the resort and from numerous room balconies there are sweeping ocean views that are truly breathtaking. The food is consistently excellent, offering a variety of well-prepared, flavorful options that make every meal something to look forward to. One standout feature is the amazing martini bar, which provides a stylish, relaxed atmosphere and expertly crafted cocktails and it is perfect for unwinding in the evening. For those who enjoy activities, the resort offers sailing and snorkeling, and you can even get scuba certified if you’d like. If you enjoy walking, this resort is especially appealing because there are quite a few stairs and oop that allows you to walk around the property and up a very large hill. Couples Sans Souci is also an ideal place to relax, with peaceful spaces designed for comfort and tranquility. The facilities are clean and well maintained, adding to the overall sense of quality and care that makes this resort such a special getaway.
Poor senior management

I thought long and hard about writing this review. On the positive side the staff that you meet day to day are superb; waiting staff, bar staff, reception etc. The room (Premier Ocean Suite) was lovely but this is where the wheels started to fall off. I reported that our aircon was defective at 3:00pm on Friday after much messing around we were finally moved to a new room on Sunday afternoon. I appreciate that things break but nearly 48 hours to get a new room is unacceptable. Our recompense for 48 hours without aircon was a plate of fruit. The holiday continued until our last night when we had paid $275 for a private beach dinner. This turned into a farce, the table wasn’t set up, water/wine not chilled and the final straw was that the menu wasn’t as we had ordered. There had been no communication from management about any issues and they appeared surprised when I complained when checking out the next day. I tend to judge an organisation by how they deal with problems and Couples Sans Souci fell well short. Apart from a fruit plate we received no formal communication from management apologising for our loss of aircon. For the fiasco of our $275 dinner we were offered a bottle of champagne, remember this is an all inclusive resort with champagne on tap and we were packed and checking out for a flight to London. This was our second visit as the first one was excellent but we have absolutely no wish to return again.
