High-Cost Low-Quality Experience

Tricia C on Jan 10, 2026

We stayed at the Melia after a last-minute flight cancellation on New Year's Eve 2025. All that was left was an expensive "Level" room. We found out it came with an outdoor hot tub, which we were excited to use after a long day waiting at the airport and sitting on the tarmac. We were disappointed to find the hot tub in an unusable condition upon arrival. The jets and tub itself were filthy. Also, there were no slippers or robes in the room. Level rooms are supposed to get a special Level check-in experience as well. After standing in the regular check-in line for about 45 minutes, we were told to go to the Level check-in space, where we would receive an enhanced check-in experience. It would have been nice to go directly to the Level check-in vs. standing in line at the regular check-in first. It was a very "basic" hotel experience at a very high price. After contacting the hotel, they offered no compensation or reimbursement.

We had a Great family trip. We stayed from the 28th until January 4. We enjoyed all of the food and the entertainment at night. The kids enjoyed playing any of the activities.

Melia All Inclusive Cozumel

Bruno D on Jan 06, 2026

This was our second stay at the Melia all inclusive in Cozumel. We were here last year and enjoyed it so much we came back. We loved the beautiful beach which felt almost private. No crowds. No trouble getting chairs and umbrellas. The beach was clean, raked every day, seaweed removed every day. The beach bar at the Mole was great. We did not stay in the Level hotel, but the more modest part of the resort. The rooms were basic. but very clean. The beds were comfortable. The furniture was dated but who cares? We just stept there. The air conditioner worked great, but it was a bit loud. The shower had fantastic water pressure. The shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided seemed to be good quality. The free room fridge was a nice touch and we used it daily. We found the food at the buffet excellent. There was good variety evrery day, at every meal. The food was flavourful. Only on New Years day did we find the food a bit disappointing, because it was left overs from the day before. The food at the Fish House and Mole restaurants were very good. Service was great. Overall, this resort was great value for the money. We were a family group of 5 adults and 2 young childrent, and everyone had a great time.

Hidden Gem

Fran John S on Jan 05, 2026

Nice smaller resort with great staff. We ate breakfast and dinner several times in the Fish House rather than the buffet. The wait staff was very welcoming. Our concierges at the poo and beach could not do enough for us. A short walk to the Lobster House is worth it. There are 2 and we tried both. The coffee and ice cream spot by the kids pool was our afternoon treat. We normally go to the Paradisus Cancun but do to renovations we came to Melia Cozumel & it didn’t disappoint!

Only complaints was food

sakristiansen on Jan 05, 2026

My only real complaint was the food. Buffet was just ok, specialty restaurants were also just ok. Fish house was good, Mexican was ok but the taco restaurant wasn’t good. Kids both got bones in their tacos. Even coconut rum was top shelf and not available, I got denied twice but my wife didn’t and I saw other women allowed so maybe send the wife if you want Leveilled up alcohol.
