Amazing

Nena416 on Dec 12, 2025

Everything was fantastic — from the first impression at the lobby to the very last minute at the resort. The design of the entire property is beautiful. I requested an ocean-view room, and they gave me a room literally on the beach with a gorgeous view. It was spotless. The food was great. But most importantly, the people who work there are amazing — every single one of them.

Great

I would like to thank circie from the level beach area. She really made our stay enjoyable. She was very informative and helpful. Good recommendations. Ivan was very helpful and kind and so was the guy in charge of the snorkeling equipment and jet skis. All in all it was a very pleasant stay!

How could it get your award this year, TripAdvisor?!

Aelita C (Austin, Texas) on Dec 12, 2025

The location is great - the beach is kids friendly, it’s sand, the water is usually calm. Some shows are very good. Landscape is clean and trimmed. The staff from top to bottom are very friendly and doing everything possible to make our vacation memorable. Coffee in the buffet is very good. They even entertain kids in the pool once a day - it was very nice! Thank you, Everyone! But the food itself is horrible. The options are chicken, chicken and tilapia. Dear taco chief, a tortilla, mashed meat and onion cubs are not tacos yet! Sorry, it cannot be called a Mexican food. And what is on your shelves for lasagna is also offensive for Italian cousin., and I can go on and on and on. We were told that we could stop by at Level lobby 24/7 for snack. My husband did it twice to pick up an apple - they stopped serving apples there. It is very small resort, and if it weren’t wrongly advertised, it would be judged according to expectations. This place is designed perfectly for very small parties up to 6 people. It is not mentioned anywhere in the description, therefore, our family gathering of 20 adults and four children didn’t come out the way we expected, and the way of larger resorts would deliver easily. This resort is unable to accommodate dinner reservations for groups larger than 6–8 people. Before booking our family reunion, we researched this property thoroughly, and at no point was it mentioned that the resort is too small or that the restaurants do not have the capacity or staffing to handle larger groups. Having dinner together is an important part of our vacation: spending time as a family is the main reason we are here. In addition, the buffet quality has been unexpectedly low. One family member ended up eating breakfast cereal for dinner because the dish labeled “lasagna” was not edible, and the pizza looked more decorative than consumable. There were no green salads (there were whole leaves of lettuce offered on the second night - it’s still not a salad yet), no gluten-free options, and the cheese selection was extremely limited. We left one day earlier - they asked us to provide our reason to leave the place earlier. It’s laughable even to ask for it, we were reporting our reasons to Alfonzo every day during the first half of our vacation, then we gave up.

Nice Low Key Resort

PTmomma on Dec 09, 2025

Just returned from 6 nights at Meliá Cozumel. We enjoyed our stay. It was worth it to upgrade to Level. We had a quick check in with a very helpful, Alfonso, our level concierge, checking in with us daily, Our room was very well appointed with a comfortable bed and pillows and a gorgeous view of the water. Our housekeeper was on top of keeping our water and mini bar stocked. The biggest downfall of the room was very noisy air conditioner that cycled on every 10 minutes. I would suggest upgrading the patio furniture for Level rooms, but completely adequate. The highlight of this resort was the staff. Diego and Circe were a wonderful team taking care of us at the adults only pool and level beach area. They provided friendly and diligent service even when they were busy with a big group. Ian, from activities, helped us set up our excursions and even helped a a last minute cancellation. Enrique was always willing to fill our water bottles at the buffet bar, Miguel was a consistent friendly server at the buffet. The entire staff at the Fishhouse were fabulous, treating us like royalty. I was impressed with how everyone worked together as a team. The resort is smaller, in a good way that allows you to get to know the staff and enjoy a quieter experience. We spent most of our time on beach or adults only pool which was quiet. There is more activity at the family pool, which is also much warmer. We enjoyed the game room and would have enjoyed the courts, except for my recent knee injury. There are nightly shows, but overall evening activities are limited. If you are looking for a party scene, this is not the place for you. The beach is beautiful. There was a day or two of seaweed, but that is Mother Nature. We loved the Bali beachside beds in Level area. You are limited to a number of Bali bed reservations based on your number of nights stay. This wasn’t presented upfront on websites when we were doing research. That being said, the concierge would get us set up w a bed or palapa if there was a cancellation or opening. It worked out just fine. The biggest negative to this resort was the food. It was fine. Choices very limited. It might be tough for a picky eater. We did enjoy the Level cooked to order breakfast and the FishHouse. Buffet selection was limited. I would suggest adding a sandwich station and an ice cream machine. Also know that your reservations for restaurants are also limited. Our Level concierge, Alfonso helped us make reservations. There was one day of really bad service, waiting 15 minutes to be greeted at the Mole Snack bar. I believe they were understaffed that day and it wasn’t the norm during our stay. The ceviche was yummy! Drinks were great, using premium liquor for Level guests. Despite the meh food, we would book here again, mostly due to the service and relaxing quiet beach!
