We have stayed a many resorts on Cozumel for over 20 years. We mainly come for the weather water ad beaches. The Melia is perfectly located for a beach experience. The beach is long and not crowded, and the rooms are very close to the water. The resort is very relaxed compared to other resorts as far a weird rules about towels drinks and mini bar. The key to your room is part of the wrist band so you don't have to deal with that either. the rooms over the pool ca get loud in the afternoon but the rooms in the older part of the resort are very quiet. The staff is VERY friendly and happy, which says a lot about management. Also we were surveyed twice by management during our stay which says alot about their care about how things are going. an other incident was during a dinner at the Mole restaurant the music was very loud and made it hard to talk, a quick request to the waiter alerted him to the issue and they turned it down quickly. Talking about staff Adrian at the Snack restaurant is a gem. He was friendly, taught us Spanish and was a highlight of our experience.
Also a BIG plus is Very good WiFi everywhere.
I found the food was good for a resort and there were lots of options my only suggestion would be to make the food a little hotter.
Great Choice For Families!

Positives: small, personal, amazing staff, so many things for kids through teens to do! Suzy made this truly a vacation for us as she led games and activities by the pool that kept our kids excited and entertained so we could relax but still have them close by! She’s amazing!!
Negatives: we did not know about the limited people allowed in the two non-buffet restaurants, Fish House and Mole. Only 5 people every half hour due to kitchen size. Very disappointing as we came with a group of 17 (adults and kids/teens) and looked forward to all eating together at nice sit down restaurants. No where in our booking process did it mention how small the restaurants were. After lots of rigamarole, the food manager let us book a group table at Mole the last night and apologized for the inconvenience. So just be prepared that the two non buffet restaurants are very hard to get into (and you need to book them two days ahead).
Don't do it!!!!!

I honestly don't know who is writing all of the positive reviews. This place is very low quality. We came as three couples, specially requested king beds in our reservation yet upon our arrival there was only double doubles. No one seemed to care. Only a lobby bar, adult pool bar and buffet restaurant bar. Don't try to get a drink. This is probably the only place in Mexico that doesn't know how to make a margarita, we tried all three bars and none were drinkable. Food is not bad but very limited selection. Service was horrible no one seemed to care. I am not one to complain and definitely not one to leave reviews but this place was so bad that I felt compelled. I can tolerate bad food and even bad drinks (there is always beer) but that lack of caring from anyone in the staff was just terrible.
First stay at Melia, first of many.

This is the first time we’ve stayed at MELIA Cozumel. Definitely recommend as it is super clean, enjoyable and with one of the best beaches at Cozumel.
Christian Ku Maas from The Mole restaurant was just amazing, knowledgeable and willing to provide with the best advise on what to eat and drink, had amazing cocktails recommended by Chris. 5 stars for the staff and specially Chris and his attention and service.

Melia Cozumel was our first destination vacation and we were glad that we chose that destination.
We also leveled up and received beach service second to none. Exception quality, bar none. DIEGO and GERALDO were amazing!
