Perfect destination for an all inclusive. The staff were amazing, and so friendly. Amado provided great pool service. I enjoyed to variety of food options available as well. And the room was beautiful! It was a relaxing trip and I would recommend this resort to anyone, and hope to visit again!

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Brian S on Dec 13, 2025

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic I am not a big fan of going on vacation. It’s not just the packing; it’s the stress of not being home where I can best manage my pain and not being in control when problems hit, as they always do. This trip’s drama came on day one, with snow in Chicago and the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced thanks to American Airlines. We ended up spending what should have been our first day in paradise in an expensive hotel near O’Hare battling to get our checked bags with my shots. As we waited in line at the airport, we (my husband, the chatty Kathy) talked to several couples and families booked in various resorts in Punta Cana. Listening to their struggles made me realize how lucky we were to have booked with the Hyatt Zilara. While others were just out of luck, Lia of the Hyatt Zilara went out of her way to make up for the time we lost – even though (obviously) the Hyatt had nothing to do with the delay getting there. While others heard about how weather is uncontrollable, we were offered an extra day at the end of our stay. When we told Lia that we couldn’t extend the stay, Lia went to her manager to see how they could help us. We ended up receiving a credit we could use for incidentals (like spa treatments). Honestly, I’m so used to hearing, “There’s nothing we can do,” it was kind of a shock to be treated like someone who matters. But that’s the thing about the Hyatt Zilara, I’ve felt like a VIP since stepping on the property. We were welcomed with a glass of delicious purple bubbly and a cold cloth to help cool off while we completed the registration process on a comfortable couch. I have never been so pampered. All my worries about travel have melted in this amazing paradise. The room is huge, the bathroom is bigger than either of mine (his and her sinks, dual showerheads, makeup lights), there are plenty of outlets and charging stations, a desk, couch, king sized bed (with a mattress that doesn’t bother my hips!), and the balcony OMG the balcony. I’m writing this on the balcony sitting on a lounger the size of a twin bed with pillows supporting my back and my feet up watching the palm trees blowing in the breeze on a beach of white sand. But it’s not the amenities or the amazing food selection that makes Zilara so special, it’s their staff. It's hard for me to ask for help, shoot it’s hard for me to ask for a glass of water with dinner, but the people who work at Zilara make it so easy. They actually seem to want to be there. From the room attendant to the wait staff to the pool attendants, no matter who you ask they help – and they are happy to. It’s impossible not to relax. I should note, we went in early December which is not peak season. I honestly don’t understand why it’s not, because the weather was 80 with a nice breeze and it was a bonus to have less people on the island. If you can afford to go all-inclusive (so worth it) do yourself a favor and pick the Hyatt Zilara (adults only) or Ziva (for families) in Punta Cana. I felt absolutely reborn wading into the ocean in the moonlight.

Wonderful Resort - Great Food

R0sie2015 (Canada) on Dec 13, 2025

There is a lot to love about this resort! We stayed in the Club Level Junior Suite There a few downfalls, but not many: 1. The Club Level Pool is in the shade part of the day as is the Club Level bar. 2. The Club Level Pool area is directly behind a designated smoking area and the breeze blows the smoke into the area all day. A man smoked a cigar there for over an hour today and the smell was terrible. 3. It says that there are 7 à la cart restaurants but three are on the family side and are difficult to get into and loud. We chose to stay on the adult only side. 4. If you need conditioner for your hair, definitely bring your own. Body wash, conditioner, shampoo are supplied but really not very nice. If you have thick hair you will never get the knots out with this stuff. 5. The coffee shop is open air and not air conditioned. It’s a warm place to have a nice cappuccino. The good stuff: 1. We found the food really good! We have stayed at a few places in the Dominican Republic and this was by far the best. Having a breakfast restaurant was fantastic. We didn’t go the Buffett once on our stay. 2. M & Ms and Pringles in your room every day! lol 3. It was relatively clean. No complaints. 4. The beach was relatively calm. Sand was beautiful. You could walk quite a way out. The water was warm. The beach walk is short. You can’t walk for miles here but it was nice. 5. This was not a “party resort”. There was a bit of entertainment and a nice bar to relax in. So it suited me as heavy “partying” is not my thing. Still lots of fun. 6. The employees are friendly and do a great job!! They are engaging and make every effort to make your stay enjoyable. My tips are: -bring an insulated mug to keep water/drinks cold. -bring your own conditioner. -remember you are not in North America -this is definitely a 5 star resort here.

Five years and counting...

Renee B (Wilton, New York) on Dec 12, 2025

It's my last night at Hyatt Zilara in Punta Cana, and I couldn't wait to write this review. This is the 5th year in a row that my mother and I have come here, and it didn't disappoint. This all-inclusive resort has top-notch service in all things: housekeeping, dining, you name it! There's plenty to do, if that's your thing: water sports, crafts, and music and entertainment. One of my personal favorites is silent disco. Public spaces are clean, food, which can be challenging at resorts, is very good, the water park is fun for all ages, and the spa is worth the trip. I have six shout-outs for this year. 1. Antonia is bartender extraordinaire at Bongo's, which you experience only by purchasing "club" access. 2. Alexander, our assigned butler, did whatever he could to make our stay more special. We're pretty low maintenance guests, so efforts on his part were much appreciated. 3. Jaime, the manager at Chinola, which is technically on the sister property, Hyatt Ziva, but a spot to which we had access, made us feel like family. Mom & I were eager to try their Turkish/Mediterranean inspired menu, but unbeknownst to us, we came on a night where they were doing only prime rib. We left, but not before Jaime stopped by to make apologies and to ask if we'd come back another night. We promised to return the next night. When we did, we brought newfound friends with us and he tended to us personally. He made us feel welcome and special. 4. Brunilda, my masseuse at the spa, was fantastic. She worked her magic on me with a truly relaxing massage. 5. Demetrios...I hope he'll forgive the spelling if I messed it up. He was our waiter at the French Polynesian restaurant called Brando's on Wednesday, 10 December. He was fun, had great energy, and provided good recommendations and service. 6. Bryan at Shutters is last but not least. Shutters is a beachfront restaurant (like Chinola on the Ziva side) at which breakfast & lunch are open only to club-access guests. He greeted us every morning of our stay with an effervescent smile. Our water glasses and coffee cups were never empty on his watch for which we are grateful. Looking forward to doing this for the 6th year in 2026...
