Hyatt Zilaria cap worth it over Secrets

The was the longest trip my girlfriend and I ever took. We went from December 12-20 and we both agree that it was the best all inclusive we have been to. For context we both have been to secrets Cap Cana and Akumal while she has been to a few more with her family. The food was the stand out here the best of all my the resorts we previously visited. When we first arrived our room was not quite ready however the concierge did give us a quick tour and guided us to check out the buffet. This buffet was interesting. The staff served you and at times they could be a bit inattentive but the food was excellent at the buffet. The only downside is the food at the buffet was the same at breakfast every day which after 8 days was tough to swallow no pun intended. We spent a lot of time at the pool which was great as we were not club level. The service was outstanding giving specific shoutouts to mayreni she constantly checked on us even when we were in the pool! The hot tubs were amazing especially in the morning but the pool was cold at times. All of the restaurants we visited were great, we went to them all for dinner except the French one as it did not seem to interest either one of us. We also ordered room service multiple nights because why not! It was great every time especially the burger and chocolate cake late at night. Our room was nice, although there were things that were disappointing. Compared to secrets which had tablets in the room to order room service or check the activities of the day, everything was done through the tv and calling the desk. Additionally there was no tub in the room and service of the room itself while done was not as consistent as secrets cap Cana. Overall the food and entertainment greatly outshined any downsides and as a result made this vacation one of the bests of our lives.
One of the better all inclusives with very good food, staff, quality, pools. Just needs a bit more entertainment options

Great people such as Sebastian helping with a ton of allergy restrictions, and Fraudicio helping with various arrangements. The staff all have a smile even with a bit of a language barrier if you don’t speak any Spanish. Very warm staff and a desire to help ensure things go well. Rooms are spacious, modern, and clean, with daily room service and turndown service. Large room safe which I always look for. Just make sure you don’t leave your do not disturb light on if you want service. Restaurant quality beats out most other all inclusive hotels for my family of 4 (2 parents and 2 young adults), even though there can be long wait times at restaurants on the Ziva side since those restaurants are accessed by both Zilara and Ziva guests. Service can be slow in the specialty restaurants if you don’t flag the waitstaff down to ask to order. Buffet for breakfast at Zilara was the best I’ve ever seen, even comparable to hotel stays I’ve had at high end European hotels. Pools are very nice, water park was a good use of a couple of hours, and beach is very pretty although there can be a lot of seaweed on some days (they do continuously try to clean it up). Entertainment staff is also great. The two criticisms are more for management to address: 1) need for more Zilara/adult only rain day activities, 2) need for more Zilara-only evening entertainment beyond just the piano (which is still good though) at One Eyed Cat. Adults need some evening dance options for example.

Our family (15 people total were very happy with the Zilara Cap Cana. This is by far the best all inclusive we have been to in the last 10 years. The staff were all friendly and anticipated our needs, which was helpful with a group this size. Edgar and Patricio at the restaurants, Wilin at the pool and Albania and Morania at the Spa. All excellent. We will book again for 2026.

This was our third time staying at this resort! We love the direct flight and ease of travel from airport to resort! We cannot say enough about the fabulous Darling Mendez! Hyatt Resorts can never let her go!!! She is the most fabulous person and has always bent over backwards to ensure our family felt taken care of! Customer service is the most important thing in hospitality and Darling goes above and beyond and deserves the recognition for her outstanding dedication to guests! We also appreciate her colleague, Heidy Mendoza and our butler Louis who was also wonderful! Rosario, who was our server, in the restaurant, Tempest also needs to be recognized for his outstanding service as well! The spa is amazing, restaurant choices are great and the resort was clean! We hope to come back again next year!

Resort was clean and very easy to navigate. Staff was amazing. Especially Willie helping us find chairs around the pool and Edgar with dinner reservations. Food was delicious.
