Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana

ZebraCrossing1 (Washington DC, District of Columbia) on Jul 20, 2024

Hyatt Zilara is a great resort. The Blind Butcher is one of the best restaurants at the resort, but all of them are very good, including the club lounges. Juan, our Butler was very attentive and always ready to help. Antonia and Deborah are the great bartenders at Club Bongos and make your drinks just how you like them. The resort, the pool, the beach, the food, the customer service were all top notch. Definitely worth the money.

Great Vacation

ReadytoGo2100987 (Charlotte, North Carolina) on Jul 20, 2024

The resort was absolutely beautiful.. and CLEAN! Close to the airport, but didn’t hear any airplanes. The staff at this resort is top notch. They are very knowledgeable and accommodating to your request. The only negative is that the food isn’t all that great. Expected higher quality.. The beach is gorgeous but full of seaweed, which isn’t the resort’s fault, just the time of year. Would definitely return but would only go for a couple days not a full week. Not much to do on the resort.

Paradise in Punta Cana.

I recently enjoyed a 4-night stay at Zilara with my wife in mid-July 2024. As a frequent traveler to Mexico and Belize, I am experienced with traveling to vacation spots in the Caribbean. From my vacation experiences since 2020, this place is second to none. It may not be first alone...but there is nothing better. I've been to a more luxurious location in Banyan Tree Mayakoba; visited a better culinary experience in Atelier Playa Mujeres; and enjoyed a greater cultural experience of Belize. But for the money, no place combines luxury, dining/drink options, landscape beauty, newness, hospitality, and nightlife better than Hyatt Zilara. On its own, its a great experience...add in the benefits of a second sister resort of Ziva, then it's spectacular. Top 5 things that set it apart? 1) The beach and water. Never been to a beach that you could walk out sooooo far and the water still be shallow and clear. If you are going to Zilara...you can walk out to the barrier shielding the beach from seaweed and the water will only be chest high. As far as seaweed, it's nothing to speak of, if you've experienced parts of the Riviera Maya (Cancun, Playa del Carmen) or Belize. And this is high season for seaweed and yet the beach was beautiful. And the beach seating on Zilara side was plentiful. 2) Dining at the resorts (Zilara and Ziva). Many food options at the resort that are very good for an All-Inclusive hotel. Additionally, the buffets cater to Vegans and Pescatarians. The dine-in restaurants did a great job of accommodating by shellfish allergy by cooking my food separately (when needed). 3) Drinks at the bars. All the bars are great and will do a double shot if requested...but the 2 best bars are Bongos (club bar for Zilara) and One Eyed Cat (Zilara Martini bar). ASK FOR THE CLEOPATRA at One-eyed Cat. 4) Nightlife. Always something going on at night. One of the best I've seen for offerings. This is not a sleep resort. 5) The workers! They are beautiful, kind, hospitable, and professional. Special acknowledgement goes to LEIDY in the Bongos bar! JAIRON and CRISLEIDY in One eyed Cat! PATRICIO on the beach waitstaff team. And our great butler FRANDY. Now a few things for improvement or misses. 1) Wine options need to improve all around. 2) No liquor options in cart bar within our expensive club-level room (just snacks and beer). I wish i could have a whiskey or rum in my room. Big miss. 3) Don't allow reservation of chairs at beach and pool area. This is a big ZIVA problem for the side with families, but I can see this becoming an issue for Zilara in high season. This is too nice of a hotel to allow for unattended seats with "reservation towels" placed on them. It's a fight waiting to happen. 4) Curtains for patio! No need to have an outdoor hot tub if everyone can see you and your partner, when you may desire privacy. 5) Umbrellas are too small for shading on the beach. You will either need 2 umbrellas to enlarge the shade or utilize the shadow of the coconut tree to expand your shade range. 6) The resort map provided SUCKS. You'll figure it out eventually...but I'm on vacation, it shouldn't be this hard to locate different lawns or locations. Last items...While associated with hotel, Punta Espada golf shuttle to and from hotel was 10 minutes and worked smoothly. The water park is an awesome offering for families...we enjoyed the lazy river experience and left shortly thereafter.
