Our 5th stay at this amazing hotel. Great staff, good food and an amazing beach bat. Great for cruise watching :)
Thoroughly underwhelmed

Let me start by saying that in the past I have followed the reviews on Tripadvisor and in most cases been happy with my choices. This is not the case here with the Binniguenda Hotel. Return guests have become oblivious to the lack of certain things at this hotel. Let me start with good and why it received 2 stars instead of 1. The actual hotel grounds are beautiful and well kept. The bar and wait staff are exceptional. Thank you to Lorenso, Saul, Abraham, and Freddy at the pool bar. Now for the rest.... You can't get a coffee before 7:30am when the buffet opens. There is a coffee maker in the room but there is no creamer, sugar of even stir sticks. The food at the buffet other than the fresh fruit in the morning is actually terrible. Lacking in everything. I have been to dozens of all-inclusives in many countries including Cuba and this was the worst that I have seen. We spent money eating out to avoid the dinner buffet. The lunch is from 1 to 5 and then you have to wait until 7:30 pm for the dinner buffet. There is a massive gap between the eating periods and this must be hard on little children. Now if possible, the a la carte restaurant was much worse. Almost all of the food was sent back untouched by us and everyone else in the place. The terrible food consistency continued to the Niru Beach club. It is hard to get excited about the meals when the highlight is Hot Dogs and chicken wings. The rooms were clean but lack a fridge and simple things like a pad of paper. This is the first hotel that I have visited that didn't have a fridge in the room. To make thing worse, the rule sheet that they hand out tells you that you can't bring outside purchases of drinks and snacks into the hotel rooms. We did anyway and were given the evil eye by the front desk. Some previous reviews justify things by saying the price was cheap. For a few dollars more we could have gone to Dreams or Las Brisas but I made the mistake of trusting the reviews, rolled the dice and lost. This was our second time to Huatulco and probably will not be our last. It will however be our last at this hotel. I just wanted to make sure that other readers know what they are getting or not getting when they book here.
