Not every unit is the same, ours was shoddy and dirty
DjNkahelelaniK on Jul 21, 2026
Dead roaches everywhere, in drawers, in the shower, there was Punic hair I the bathroom around the toilet floor, the air conditioner in the bed room barely counts as a ac unit, the living room was so hot that we had to buy our own fan to help reduce the heat. The carpet was soggy under the ac. The iron was broken and sparked when plugging in, had to purchase our own iron not have wrinkled clothes everyday for our convention. We had multiple other members of our conference staying in the same building and when they came to our room they felt terrible at the condition our room was in. It was miserable. They had fully ac entire units, hard wood floors, entire couch units, all while we were sweating profusely trying to all sit in the bedroom to avoid the living room! With soggy carpets and roaches! The kitchen had dead roaches so we had to clean and wipe everything down before feeling like it was clean enough to use anything in the kitchen. The bedroom had pubic hair on one of the sheets, had to wash all beddings before we felt it was clean enough to use safely. We forgot our air pods in the unit and after numerous emails no response back! Hate to have to call Kauai Police but may have to if no response back.
Roomy 1 bedroom apartment style with pools and near beach

Spacious 1 bedroom with full kitchen and access to inexpensive paid laundry. Rooms generally face either beach (across the field) or the pool. Like having a small apartment. (Be sure to use self-check-in link they send, rather than trying to find the front desk in another building in the shopping center!)
Beautiful hotel/condominium located in Coconut Coast of Kauai.

This was a family trip for us, and we booked two rooms adjacent to each other (I contacted the hotel in advance to request that). Registration is done online couple days before arrival, and the entry code was sent to us the day of the arrival. The hotel condition needs some upgrades, especially with the room conditions, but everything else exceeds our expectation: the well-kept garden, the friendliness of the staff, the ease of access using the keyless entry, the clean pool area and BBQ grill, etc. We also like the location: it's a short walk to the shoreline, and there's the plaza complex with convenience store and shops (the farmer market is held three times a week there in the parking lot of the plaza). There's no daily housekeeping; towel exchange can be done at the hospitality office located in the plaza (information in the booklet). Housekeeping service can be scheduled for a fee (if stay longer than a week there's a complimentary housekeeping service).
Great place to stay!

Amazing! We absolutely love staying at Plantation Hale and have for many years! It is a hidden gem! We love the proximity to our Sleeping Giant hike as well as to all of our favorite restaurants and shopping!!

Pool was clean and great. I rented 2 rooms and I asked if the rooms can be close together Upstairs and downstairs, they accommodated me with what I requested, that was a plus for me.
