Not a resort. The experience was similar to staying at an Airbnb

Not a resort. The experience was similar to staying at an Airbnb. No room service, no housekeeping (unless you pay an additional fee with each request) on top of the hundreds they charge upon arrival for cleaning services ($412). Only one mid restaurant that is closed on Sundays and Mondays. No bar on property, except when the one restaurant bar is open from 3pm to 4pm on days the restaurant is open. The front desk is only open 9 AM to 7 PM, so if you have an issue during that time you’re on your own. When we checked in, we didn’t find out that our air conditioning wouldn’t turn on until after 7pm and the front office staff had already left. The AC is on a child lock system, and one of our doors was off its runner so it would not allow the AC to turn on. Our room got up to 88° and we just had to wait it out till the next day when maintenance was back working after 9AM. Beautiful property, should not be allowed to have resort in its name.
Absolutely Worth It!

We booked unit F304 via Capitol One credit card. It was impeccably clean, fully stocked (even had an air fryer!). The 2 bedroom was very spacious and was a perfect fit for our family. We didn’t hear a lot of hotel noise at night which was nice. FYI, for this unit you will need to purchase basic food items like salt/pepper/olive oil, etc. The room had boogie boards, beach chairs, sand toys and snorkel gear- such a wonderful bonus! Every single staff member on site was very friendly and kind. We had a view of the pool area and every morning staff was cleaning the pool, testing the water and they even changed out the family hot tub water during our stay. Additionally, every morning a diligent employee would deep clean the grills that are open for general use. All of this is to say, this resort is top tier with cleanliness and professionalism. The restaurant was wonderful too. There is a Safeway across the street but I would not plan on doing your major shopping there, it’s the most expensive of grocery stores nearby. I strongly suggest planning time for a Walmart grocery trip (there’s one in Lihue) and getting your food items there or doing a Target pick up order when you arrive on the island. There is also a Costco with great prices on alcohol, etc. 3 years ago we stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Poipu and aside from the access to their complimentary snacks throughout the day, Waipouli Resort is truly just as great for a lower price. We will 100% be returning!
No security cameras on site. Not safe.

We had the battery stolen from our rental car. This facility has no security cameras. This will cost us hundreds of dollars all because of incompetence. Do not stay here. It is not secure.
Beautiful, Well-maintained Property

We booked this resort through a Costco travel package. Beautiful and very well-maintained property and rooms!! The customer service both before and during our stay was top rate. Due to a death in the family, we had to re-book our entire trip from Oct to Dec and the resort manager worked directly with us and Costco Travel to get everything transitioned smoothly for us to allow the trip to proceed instead of being cancelled, even during the very busy Christmas holiday season. The property location was perfect being on the east side, equal distant from the north and south shores, to minimize our drive time to activities. There is a Safeway grocery store across the street and the property is walking distance to tons of restaurants and Boss Frogs to rent snorkel equipment, boogie boards, etc. It was also only a 10-minute walk on a paved pathway to the luau at the Sheraton resort down the road.
Nice, but …

Nice resort, conveniently located but limited beach access. We stayed on the second floor at the western end of the pool. The waterfalls are very load and are running 24 hours, we could not sleep with the windows open, although the place itself is reasonably quiet. The kitchen was suitably equipped to cook simple meals. Part of the furniture should be replaced, especially the filthy sofa.
