Perfect Stay

We adored every minute of our 7 night stay. Shopping and restaurants very close by and equidistance from the North and South shores making it very easy to explore the entire island. We booked directly through Outrigger and had a first floor courtyard view room-very spacious, comfortable, great patio. Nice to have the full kitchen and in-room laundry. Beach is non-swimmable but it wasn't an issue and was a great place to watch the sunrise and seal(s) every single morning. Amazing pool and hot tubs. Kiddie pool and slides looked great if you have little ones. We had an issue with our AC and it was taken care of promptly. Excellent staff. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Excellent

Excellent place to stay pool and beach are right there. Note this is not a swimming beach but there usually are seals that come on to it to visit. East side of the island so easy access to both N & S
Great family condo and pool in Kaapa

This is our first stay at the Waipouli and we were very happy here. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the location right off a major road and across from a Safeway but once you’re inside it’s like a whole new world. We had a second floor ocean view room which was great. Lovely views of both the ocean and the pool. I loved just sitting on our lanai at night enjoying a glass of wine. It was honestly worth it for us to ensure we had a pool or ocean view otherwise you face the street/Safeway totally taking away from the ambiance. Our unit (D building) was clean and spacious- really nice kitchen and a huge bathroom with shower and jacuzzi tub. Loved having the washer/dryer. It was key for us having a separate bedroom from the kids who happily slept on the very large and comfy sectional couch (didn’t even need to pull out the sleeper part). We all loved the pool and the kids esp liked the water slides and hidden cave in the pool itself. And I liked that we could easily rent chairs (nice Tommy bahama ones), umbrellas and boogie boards right downstairs. A few things to improve on: -pool has comfy loungers but not enough shade umbrellas! -pool isn’t really a lazy river esp since you can only bring in noodles and no floats. We felt it was misrepresented online -we would have loved a more casual / affordable place to eat in the resort itself. Oasis looked great but very pricey esp for kids.
Hostility from towel attendants made an otherwise nice stay stressful

The towel attendant here physically pushed me after an extremely rude interaction. I was told in the morning I could exchange my pool towels at any time. Then later that day when I went to exchange towels. I was first told to put my dirty towels in a communal hamper. After I did so, I was told there is a daily maximum and I could not get any more. The employee acknowledged I was given the wrong information, but that it was not their problem and I, the customer, should have known the policy better than the employee that morning. If I wanted, I could fish my towels out of the dirty hamper everyone uses. So I upended the hamper to get my towels out then the employee pushed me from the cart and swore at me in Hawaiian and told me to fish the towels out using my hands. Otherwise it was a nice place and probably would get 5 stars, but when 1 interaction goes so poorly it can ruin an entire experience.
Super resort!

Our family stayed here for 8 days and could not have been happier with our choice! First off Kapaa is center of the island making going north or south easier. The beach was so nice, never many people and an added bonus was we got to enjoy observing the monk seals that frequented the private beach. The landscape was well maintained and beautiful and amenities were perfect for a family vacation. Added bonus is Safeway is across the street. If we travel to Kauai again, we will stay here to be sure.
