While the location is great if you want to visit the Disney parks, this hotel is in desperate need of improvement. The rooms are plain and lack the charm of Disney Hotel Paris. Customer service was superficially friendly, but had no substance. For example, we checked in early but our room wasn’t ready (which was fine) but nobody contacted us to tell us when it was ready. Plus we had a rollaway bed as part of our reservation and when we arrived back to our room at 11.30pm the rollaway still has not arrived and we had to call to get it done. There were almost no food options unless you booked prior, no room service, no information sheets in the room to tell us about the facilities. Just a really disappointing stay

Convenient location but the rooms are looking dated.

Cons: Price, dated location, small inconvenient bathroom, obnoxious parking fee. Pros: Nostalgia, decent sized rooms overall, availability of 5th sleeper bed, quiet, comfortable beds, location/access to parks, EMH perks. Details: Our family of 6 stayed in 2 rooms over the Thanksgiving break. Since each room holds a maximum of 5 people, we needed 2 rooms, which leads to my first major MAJOR con: The price. It's just obnoxiously expensive for what you get. On the other hand, I can't imagine having more than 4 people in one room, so I was happy to have the second room (and second bathroom!). We have stayed before with 5 in a room, but when they were small children. Adults would be very uncomfortable to have more than 4 people in one of these rooms. The rooms are looking dated. We stayed in the Frontier tower, even though I requested any tower BUT the frontier (it's a bit more of a walk). We were on the 3rd floor, which wouldn't have been my preference, but it turned out to be very quiet and we never had to wait long for elevators. (The stairs are only accessible for emergency exits.) The headboard in my room had some peeling vinyl, the carpet has seen better days, and the exterior hallways had scratches/tears in wallpaper in places. Just needs some TLC all around. The bathrooms are very compact and are not too convenient because the toilet, shower, and vanity/sink are all in the same small, small place. This is a dated setup compared to Disney World hotels, but this is not Disney World... The rooms are fairly good-sized, and we had the 5-sleeper options, which was probably why we ended up in the Frontier tower again. We were also in connecting rooms, which was nice for a family. I don't know if the other towers have many 5 sleeper options, and I would definitely opt for the 5-sleeper room if it's available. (Teenagers don't like to share a bed.) The beds and bedding were very very comfortable. The heat/AC was quiet and worked very well. We have used the pool before on previous stays, and even though this stay was over a very chilly Thanksgiving break, we did use the pool once. It was still fun, in a classic retro way. The cold weather made the pool area pretty empty for most of the time. We didn't hang out much at the Tangaroa Terrace or Trader Sams (too cold) but I did go there for breakfast on morning of checkout. Great service! The best service we had during the entire trip. A petty and annoying aspect of this hotel is the parking fee. If you're paying the significant premium to stay on site, the exorbitant parking fee is just a slap in the face. If the "good neighbor" hotels can charge $10 parking, why does DLR need to charge $25? For hotel guests, they should have a lower rate. All in all, even though we live closer to Disneyland, we could make up the price of the increased airfare and more expensive WDW tickets to go to Florida after about one or two nights, given how much price gouging goes on at the DL hotel. WDW is just a better setup for out of town/non-local visitors. I would compare the Disneyland Hotel to a moderate/value at the WDW resort in terms of amenities, but the cost of the DL hotel is a deluxe at WDW. My rating is closer to a 3.5 than a 4, but I bumped it up for the nostalgic factor, and the way that the different towers all have a different theme and different displays. Of course, one could visit the towers and see the displays without being hotel guests, and I would encourage any Disney fan to do so! Overall, it is easy to get around within the resort, access to the parks is a quick 10 min walk, and the Extra Magic Hour perks are very, very worth it. You must be ready to get up early, but it's wonderful when you have that head start on the hoards of people in the morning, especially at California Adventure.

This was my fourth visit to Anaheim, and the first time I decided to splurge on a Disney hotel. I was not disappointed. From the moment we checked in we felt the Disney magic instantly. Our room had some beautiful Disney touches and we had a lovely view over the gardens. We were a short walk through downtown Disney to both parks. Unfortunately our children fell very ill with stomach flu during our stay, the hotel cast members went above & beyond the call of duty to look after us, including the in-house nurse. I was so appreciative of the kindness we experienced.

    Great service!

Our Sunday flight home from Anaheim was delayed by 3 hours. Why is that relevant to the hotel? We'd ordered Pokemon Sword and Shield to the hotel from Amazon. The game arrived on Friday, apparently after their mailroom closed. They normally reopen on Monday. We were ready for disappointment, but late on Saturday night we got a call - apparently they'd phoned in somebody to retrieve our package from the mailroom on the weekend. Thanks to them, we barely noticed the 3-hour flight delay as we engrossed ourselves in a new game.
