The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village experience

Everything was great, even though they were in a restoration project because of the damage done during the last hurricane.
My only suggestion would be to have trash cans placed in the bathrooms. I am conscientious and would not place personal hygiene items & facial tissues in the toilet, but other guests possibly would not be that considerate, thus, could cause plumbing problems.
Business mixed with pleasure trip.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, it was nicely updated with plenty of room. Unfortunately they were installing a new roof at the time, so a lot of construction was going on & the main pool was closed. There is a second pool which was nice & a short walk away. It also had a bar.
Pleasant staff but upon check-in, the evening front desk clerk did not know what time complimentary coffee was served in the morning. It was pretty good coffee.
The hallways are exterior which is a bit of a pet peeve of mine & they looked a bit run down.
There are several restaurants & shops on the property.
Overall it is a nice property.

Worst experience ever. I should have read the reviews online. The hotel is under construction and entrance to lobby area is blocked off. You can park your car but it goes around in loops to get to the lobby. I was okay with that UNTIL….. yoga class which was plastered as a plus was cancelled with out prior notice and we even asked the front desk that night. THEN …. Highly advertised adventure with the dolphins, boat left before the due time of 11:30. We were on the dock 11:25 no sight of a boat. We even passed by the lobby to make sure it was going before heading to the dock and because there were thunder we’re hearing. She said they are there, rushed to get there and no BOAT. it was a complete disappointment to stay here. Don’t waste your time. Restaurant is barely open and the place which has a nice patio overlooking the marina is all closed. It should have disclosed this on their website
Nice rooms, but ehhhh.

The property and rooms are quite nice. Security very friendly as we left and returned each day. We booked the property 9 months ago, but due to recent ( not Ian) wind damage there was major construction going on. It was noisy starting well Before 8 am and this was so disruptive, but no discount, extra points, meal credit, etc was offered. Huge cranes, most hotel entrances blocked off so I had to schlep luggage a good distance, etc. one day we had to wait 5 minutes to go outside due to a crane hoisting a dumpster to the roof. The next day was about a 3 minute wait. I understand they needed to take care of things but at least offer something other than a generic printout of “our apologies” at check in. The pool was also quite tepid and not refreshing. The dolphin cruise was fun, but that is a one time thing. There was no water taxi. Not sure what the resort fee was for when it was very “Un-resort” like. We were there for 7 days, so an expensive trip for s sub-par feeling.
Lovely people, good food---but know before you go...

It's important to know before you go that the hotel is under construction since the hurricane. It's not their fault, but it is what it is. The upside--daily housekeeping, great food, lovely people. The downside--construction. I had some miscommunication issues with the front desk. The General Manager fixed it immediately. I was thoroughly impressed as his solution was more than fair. Shout out to the wonderful woman in the restaurant who helped me get my child fed every morning. There was also a wonderful bartender at the pool on Friday of last week. He was incredibly helpful and hard working. Rooms are big and comfy. We stayed for one week. It's a big property so be aware of that. Also, thumbs up on the excellent coffee offered daily in the lobby. My advice is just to know before you go...
