Disappointing Check-In Experience at Grand Fiesta Americana Guadalajara

Aro Z on Apr 06, 2026

So far, our stay at Fiesta Americana has been disappointing specifically due to the check-in experience. During check-in, we were informed that breakfast was not included in our reservation, despite Expedia clearly advertising a complimentary buffet breakfast for two per day with any room type. This is not a continental breakfast, but a full buffet — which is important to clarify, as this is exactly what is being offered. We were told that Expedia did not include this information in our reservation, even though it is visibly part of the offer on their platform. While we were informed that we are Expedia VIP guests, there was no real effort to further verify or resolve the discrepancy. The situation felt more dismissed than addressed, rather than handled with the level of care one would expect. Having stayed at several hotels within the Fiesta Americana brand — most recently in Oaxaca — we expected a consistent standard across the chain. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that. Check-in is the first impression a hotel provides, and in this case, it felt somewhat below expectations — more procedural than genuinely attentive. This is particularly disappointing, as we chose this property trusting the consistency and service standards associated with the brand. Room 1408

A lovely stay in Guadalajara

RealSeattleEric (Lago Vista, Texas) on Sep 12, 2025

My wife was in Guadalajara for some surgery, and we needed a place for her to rest and recover while we took her to follow up therapies and appointments. A wonderful hotel, despite a slight hiccup (we were booked into a room on the third floor and told we had to move 3 nights into our 8 night stay due to construction in the restaurant below). This was a bit stressful and frankly, unprofessional (if they expected to move us why not book us in a different room in the first place). That said, we were moved to a higher floor, same corner Master Suite (much nicer view). The staff was lovely (shout out to doorman/bellman Fabian who greeted me by name every time I saw him. Given that I was working during her recovery (between her appointments, the view was inspiring and the desk a nice setup for working). Also, the gym was great. Had all he weights and equipment I needed to keep up my daily workouts. We would definitely stay again.

A great hotel to stay in a fine location. I have stayed here frequently for the last 7 years because the luxurious feeling at a reasonable price. The staff members from the lobby to the restaurant and house keeping are amazing. You are made to feel really special. I absolutely recommend this hotel.

My Husband 60th Birthday Celebration

ivanyam (San Pablo, California) on May 20, 2025

This time we started the big celebration visiting Guadalajara city and from there we went to Cancun. We stayed at Grand Fiesta Americana Golf Country Club. We had 3 fantastic nights. The location was perfect for exploring the city, and the service exceeded our expectations. The hotel is just about 20 minutes from the Guadalajara Centro Histórico and there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. The room was spotless with a comfortable sized bed, modern decor, and a great city view. From our pick up at the airport by Victor to our dropped off by Ramon Ramos Rizo this trip was awesome. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helped us book local tours and airport transport. Yasmin Flores, chief concierge referred by Edgar Rodriguez, chief concierge at Live Aqua helped us with the transport from the airport to hotel and back to the airport. Yasmin assisted us with service to Tequila and Tlaquepaque, both pueblitos mágicos (magic towns). Ramon drove us and stayed with us both day. We were able to get into the Cathedrals, walk the beautiful streets and eat delicious food. Aranza went out of her way by helping us get something we needed. Bell Boys - Rodrigo, David y Alberto were very friendly. Security Captain Miguel Security - Joram Rest Manager - breakfast buffet - Thania Waiters - Alejandro, Jose and Eduardo Check in - Claudia, Valeria and Carmen Housekeeping - Adriana Plasencia and Susana Barguero Rest. Capitán - Daniel Waiter - Naomi Bartender- Rafael and Brandon Courtesy service - Elena Mora and Martha Thank you very much to every single one of them for make us feel very special. We definitely will return and recommend this hotel.

It was average

The hotel is beautiful, in a great location with great amenities. However, I had an issue with water not draining in the sink and shower. They moved me to another room, and the same thing. It seems to be an older plumbing system in the building. It was also hard to communicate with the front desk as they didn't seem to speak english very well, but we used translator to get over this part. I was also surprised to be charged $10 (US) daily for using the small k-cup equivalent maker in the room, which it was never enough for me anyway. There's a Starbucks next door which I ended up hitting on the way out daily.
