A beautiful heritage hotel
ssH6799NS (Sydney, Australia) on May 18, 2022
Our rooms were comfortable and beautifully appointed. The hotel is massive with many hallways and rooms. It can feel a little impersonal due to this. We were pleasantly surprised to be able to use the facilities at the Sheraton next door as the kids loved the waterslide and pool there. The food was enjoyable and the restaurant right near the beach was beautiful in the evening. A lovely touch is the Easter Egg hunt they put on for the children. It was well thought out with lanes for each age group so the little ones didn't miss out.
Beautiful Hotel
Kenneth P (Toms River, New Jersey) on May 17, 2022
We recently stayed here for our vacation to Hawaii and the hotel is just beautiful. Our room in the historic section of the hotel was great, we loved our room and housekeeping was wonderful, notably Lourdes. A few observations however will hopefully improve visits from future guests, first the front desk associates and workers at the hotel are very business like and not all that welcoming. They greet you with a lei but it’s not a very warm welcome. The pool was under renovation which was fine, we were told we could use the pool next door at the Sheraton. We could not swim at all on our vacation because the main pool at the Sheraton is freezing and there are so many screaming kids, so that was out. There is an adult infinity pool but we were told we were not allowed to use that one. The only place to really eat at the hotel is the Mai Tai. A very limited menu. I think Surf Lanai should be opened for lunch and dinner as well so that it gives your guests. Choice of eating venues. Not everyone can afford to eat at Azure which is way over priced. We were also there when a film crew was filming for a Hallmark movie. This was a bit inconvenient for your guests and it should have been roped or blocked off. Instead the film crew was quite rude telling guests where they could walk and could not walk and they were telling the guests to keep quiet and whisper when talking. This isn’t right. Block the area off next time. Please also place larger size trash cans in your guest rooms. They don’t contain much garbage at all. On the overall, a nice stay in a beautiful hotel. This hotel does take a beating because of so many guests, so I hope maintenance is on top of everything on a daily basis. Thank you.
