Wonderful stay, would definitely return

We loved the location, the views, the spaciousness of the bathroom and the bedroom, the balcony and how nice all the employees were. The hotel is very nice and feels big enough but also not huge. We loved the huge pool and that it is a single depth. The things that we did not love: The food was pricey and good but not great, there are other places to eat nearby or downtown. We would get small water bottles in our room but nobody told us (until we asked) that they were complementary. The pillows had thick fabric covers (almost felt like upholstery) that we didn't like. Our mini fridge was not working well. We would have liked a coffee maker in the room and a screen mesh to keep mosquitoes out when opening the balcony door. Some areas of the pool felt slippery, likely due to algae or mold. Our bathroom was leaking a little from the sink and the toilet tank. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the small cons did not bother us too much.

The Stay was good overall, the Hotel room still not at the 5 Star levels, some parts of the building are quite olé and Need to berefurbished.

Beautiful location and friendly staff. Food and beverages were pricy, especially for Mexico. Very little water pressure and the shower water would turn cold in the middle of the shower. Also had stains on our sheets that had to be changed out and the hot tub was not working. Just little things that could be easily corrected.
Great place to relax. Quiet and not crowded. But rooms need to be updated.

We stayed for 1 week in a top floor hotel room facing the pool area and beach. On the plus side, the public areas are modern and well maintained. This includes the huge pool and the restaurants. The view is stunning and it is almost a private beach. The staff was very helpful when you needed something. It never seemed crowded and there were always lounge chairs available around the pool and on the beautiful sandy beach. Location is very quiet. AC worked very well. The view from balcony is stunning. All you hear is the birds and the crashing waves. There is hot water in the shower if you wait long enough. On the "needs improvement", rooms are very dated and need full renovation. The tiled floors are very dirty, especially the old grout. All the furniture needs to be replaced including the very old balcony chairs. The onsite restaurant prices seemed very expensive so we never ate there. There are many excellent restaurants within 10 minute walk which is where we had breakfast and some dinners. Taxi to the rest of the town is about 8 minutes and $80 Pesos. You can't drink the tap water of course. They only provide a few small bottles of water so we had to buy a lot of extra water bottles.
So much potential, but......

This was our third visit to the Camino. The pool, the friendliness of the wait staff, the laid back atmosphere brought us back. Several issues have us seriously reconsidering a return visit. While Edgar has made some improvements to the supper menu it is still very inconsistent. some meals were very good, but quite a few not so much. Supper was usually significantly understaffed to the point where on one evening we waited two hours just to have our order taken! While quests at breakfast have place mats and cloth napkins, supper is served on bare tables with paper napkins!! The all inclusive bar menu has shrunk to the point where only the base bar mix alcohol is included. if you don't want the mixed drinks you'd better like beer or the cheap house wine. I'd humbly suggest these are two areas where cost cutting is going to be counterproductive.
