Mediocre room. Mediocre food. Mediocre service. Mediocre beach. And, worst of all, mediocre management.
The beach faces north, which means you get neither the majesty of a sunrise nor the glory of an ocean sunset.
Most of the beach is a minefield of broken shells, which means walking barefoot is both uncomfortable and painful. Additionally, the beach has a strong undercurrent, resulting in only the most confident and comfortable swimmers being able to play or cool off in the ocean.
There is no coffee maker in the room. And when they bring you one, the electrical cord is too short to reach the outlet. So it has to be placed on the floor to make coffee.
Service staff frequently get orders wrong. The food is bland, so we ended up eating out every night (which was a wonderful experience as Huatulco has many fabulous restaurants).
The massage service in the spa was excellent. Of course, this is a third-party provider and therefore above the property's standards.
The rooms are comfortable, but not elegant. This property is definitely showing its 20-year age.
If Ramada Inn and Best Western are your idea of comfort and value, then the Camino Real may be for you. But if your standards and desires for a memorable holiday are greater, there are much better options than this mediocre resort.

This was a great resort and the staff was amazing! The food was a little on the pricey side and they don't offer all inclusive but I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. My fiance definitely want to go back and we can't wait.
Great, but outdated.

Loved the property, the tranquility and the staff! The beach is semi-private which is amazing. Restaurant menu is a bit limited but its temporary (Pandemic). Rooms desperately need an update, they are beautiful and spacious but the furniture feels old. Overall, we had an amazing time and would recomend for a quite and relaxing getaway. No music or parties here. Huge pool with beautiful beach and garden view.

First of all staff was super friendly and the look of the place is quite pleasant.
I've got to say now that our room was disappointing from the very beginning. The layout is very dated. We found one broken mirror inside the main closet that has not been changed. The phone was old and with a broken cord. The curtains had holes all over the place and the inner pool had not been cleaned before giving us the room.
The main pool of the hotel its great but tons of little mosaic tiles were missing or loose. Both me and my baby boy got injuries becuase of that same reason.
The main manu could have changes to make it more appealing to regular users. Flavor was good but also would have been good to offer children's menu which the place lacks.
Finally two key notes for this time: 1st the beach was dirty with single use plastic (we even encountered a syringe which should not have been there at all). Attention needs to be put to make a more pleasant stay for guests. 2nd and most importantly, on Sunday there was no service of sanitation of sunbeds nor cleaning of the pool. There is NO EXCUSE as to not have enough personnel to go through thorough cleaning at all times as we are all trying to have some normality in pandemic times. Hope things improve in the near future.
Nice hotel on a beautiful beach

The staff is great first of all . Rooms are nice . Spacious and comfortable. Some rooms have small private pools. The main pool is like a lagoon . Many palapas on the beach . Be careful of dropouts and waves breaking on beach . I think experianced ocean swimmers only. Beach vendors and tour hawkers are very low key. Have not tried the Spa . They have out door massage.
