This was a comfortable place to stay and we enjoyed the beach club. The only downside is the traffic noise so ask for a poolside room. The hotel was mist accommading and mived us when we asked for a quiter room. The wifi is spotty and didnt work at all at the beach club.
Great Hotel, Super Location

We stayed at the Hotel Castillo when our AirB&B had a power outage. Otherwise we never would have known about this great hotel in the Santa Cruz area of Huatulco. The staff is efficient and will look after everything. We had laundry done and it was prompt and not that costly. The pool area has comfortable sun beds and the service at the pool area is very good. Our room on the second floor had a large patio with furniture and was sunny all afternoon.

Really enjoyed our stay. Very clean but a little dated. Food was not to bad. Staff where amazing very friendly and eager to please. Staff at front desk seemed a little disorganized and not that helpful. Language barrier could have been the problem. Hotel is close to everything. Taxi is very inexpensive. The beach club is very nice but short on lounging chairs and umbrellas. Water is a little rough for swimming but has a nice pool. Good staff and everything is kept clean. We would definitely go back.
The Santa Cruz Location is the Ideal!

We have enjoyed the Hotel Castillo Huatulco for about 12 years. It’s a very clean, friendly family hotel. The front Lobby staff and all staff at this hotel are absolutely outstanding. Within the last couple of years an additional section of the building has been added with many more modern rooms. All rooms either overlook the pool, the gardens or the street. The Santa Cruz location of this hotel is ideal – it’s a short walk to the Santa Cruz beach and the Market and a shuttle bus or a 12-minute walk to the large Chahue Beach Club. Adjacent to the hotel we enjoyed daily walks over the mountain pathway into the delightful little town of La Crucecita. Taxis are also plentiful at a very low cost or the local bus runs right past the hotel. Meals at the Castillo have a good selection. The location for lunch - under a huge Palapa at the Chahue Beach Club - is second to none. Other Santa Cruz restaurants and small coffee shops are all located close to the hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised about everything with this hotel! From check in to check out, the staff were super duper friendly and helpful, cleanliness at the hotel was above and beyond, and the location was spot on! The lobby bar was great...the bartenders were really friendly and attentive and the drinks were amazing :) Hubby and I loved being able to walk out of the front lobby and be at restaurants, shops, and local beaches within minutes of walking. Literally everything you could want or need is just across the street. And if you need a change of scenery, there's a trolley that runs every 30 minutes from the hotel to the beach club! If you want to venture anywhere, taxis are readily available and reliable with consistent pricing. The equivalent of about $4CAD (including tip) gets you into La Crucecita town square. Can't ask for better! May I suggest you take a jaunt into Ricky's for dinner one evening...you won't regret trying their pizzas (I mean, who would have thought I would have found the best margarita pizza in Mexico? But I did!) We found the food at the hotel okay for breakfast, and dinners were especially nice...the beach club offers up some amazing lunches including seafood and lots of traditional Mexican fare. We will be going back in April for sure...thanks to everyone at Castillo for such an amazing stay, we heart you all!!!
