After hearing about this place for a while, we finally had the opportunity to experience it. This place is wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and kept very orderly and clean and secure. Every morning I would enjoy my coffee on the lanai watching the caretakers clean the saltwater pool, hot-tub, gas grills and all of the tables, chairs and lounge chairs daily. Unit 309 was fantastic! It’s a one bedroom condo with two pullout beds, two full bathrooms, in-unit washer/dryer and plenty of living space. It seemed like this unit was recently remodeled as all of the appliances were new. The condo’s decor totally captured the Hawaiian vibe, fun, relaxing and all done tastefully with elements harkening back to Hawaii of the 50’s & 60’s. This is an Ocean front condo with a lanai that is outfitted with table & chairs, loveseat and a lounge chair, enough to seat 7 people, all with a fantastic views of the ocean, pool, hot-tub and beach. We will definitely be returning! Hopefully we’ll be able to request #309 as it is exactly how I would imagine a Hawaiian vacation home to be like.

My family and I had a wonderful stay. We were fortunate to have the ocean-view suite, and that truly took the experience to another level. Having breakfast while overlooking the ocean and falling asleep each night to the sound of the waves made our stay incredibly relaxing and memorable. The staff was consistently friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit, making us feel valued from start to finish. Thank you for helping make our trip such an enjoyable and unforgettable experience.

Great location, very spacious, fully equipped. Condo has SO much potential, but aesthetically needs Major updating! Having inside laundry is great, however, the laundry unit sounds like a spaceship is taking off.. Accommodated four people. Needs a pull out couch to accommodate any additional family members or you might need to go to Costco and buy a blowup bed. Living room furniture, very uncomfortable. Front desk personnel was very friendly.

The oceanfront view from the room is absolutely fantastic and was the highlight of our stay. Waking up directly overlooking the ocean made for a memorable experience. However, the property is showing its age, and our room had a noticeable moldy smell. Fortunately, the odor improved significantly by keeping the windows open and turning off the air conditioning, but it was still a major drawback. I had seen similar comments in previous reviews and can unfortunately confirm that this issue persists. While the location and views are excellent, the condition of the rooms could benefit from some updates.

We stayed at Kona By The Sea for five days. The staff were very friendly and you really felt the Aloha spirit. This was everything I wanted. We were on the 3rd floor. The ocean view was perfect, the turquoise waving coming in right below us brought back memories of when we lived on Ohau years ago. Our room was very clean and spacious. The water pressure in the shower can't be beat. This is a condo, there was a washer and dryer that were great to have. The lanai had nice furniture and a perfect view. Right down the road is Ali Gardens market. The shaved ice is huge and sooo good. We went to Punau'u Black Sand beach to see the turtles. There were 13 out of the water when we got there. This was a must see. Our hotel location was perfect no matter what you choose to do. I definitely recommend this hotel/condo.
