Great Location, Thoughtful Touches, Would Stay Again

Neha G on Sep 28, 2025

This was my first time on the Big Island, and I’m so glad we stayed here. I first saw this place as part of a Costco Travel package but ended up booking direct since it was cheaper. I asked for a two-bedroom villa on the second floor. They said they’d try but couldn’t guarantee it, and luckily we got it! The location in Waikoloa (Kona side) is perfect. There’s plenty to do nearby, and it’s just about a two-hour drive to Hilo for things like Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. The views from the balcony were amazing, and the villa itself was super comfortable and fully loaded. It really felt like home. We cooked breakfast most mornings, and it was so convenient having King’s Shops and Queen’s Marketplace within walking distance. A-Bay (Anaeho‘omalu Beach) is also right there, which was a big plus. They really thought of everything. We had beach gear ready for us (chairs, mats, umbrella), which came in handy. There’s no daily room service, which was fine with us since it gave us privacy, but you do need to handle your own trash and keep things tidy. The staff were great. They gave us clear instructions for after-hours check-in, friendly tips when we stopped by the office at King’s Shops, and always helpful. Parking was designated, so no stress coming back late. There’s also a pool and gym. Overall, beautiful property, convenient location, and super thoughtful touches. I’d definitely stay here again!

Perfect vacation condos

Brian D on Jan 27, 2025

This is not our first stay at the waikaloa fairway villas as we find this property close to adventure and activity . Just a few minutes from A bay , top end shopping and food . The property is very clean and the staff are amazing . The condos are very well stocked for essentials every time . Feels just like your "home" .From doing your own cooking to doing your laundry it's all right there in the condos . We will be back

Would not stay here again

This review is for Fairway Villas-Waikoloa PARKING: each unit is assigned a parking spot, if someone else is parked if your spot, expect nothing to be done. If it’s after hours, you’ll be told “just park in a spot that’s not reserved and then figure it out tomorrow” and during hours, the office person will write it down and do nothing. AND if you happen to see property staff riding around on a golf cart, you’ll be told, there’s not much they can do other than put a note on the other car. It’s frustrating to pay so much money and not be able to park in designated spot that’s actually near your unit. POOL: salt water infinity pool that’s heated and a hot tub! Really nice!! UNIT K2: I don’t even know where to start. Upon arrival, beds were not completely made or even put in the right place (bed was pulled away from the wall I’m assuming to “make it up” and just left out in the middle of the floor instead of being bc pushed back against the wall. Another bedroom, the top cover wasn’t even put on all the way. There was a couple of dead mosquitos that had been squished on the wall and just left (bug guts and all.) The furniture was so rickety I was worried it would fall apart when I put my suitcase on it. I was a little relieved when I noticed a luggage rack/stand in the closet so pulled it out and was disappointed again when it was broken. A cooler, beach chairs, umbrella, and towels were provided but didn’t count on the beach chairs because they were broken. We had three people staying in the unit. There was more than enough bath towels (3 per person), hand towels (2-3 person), and beach towels (2 per person) but only one washcloth per person for a week’s stay. When asked the office staff about extra washcloths, she stated “well they only provide enough for each person.” On a positive note, the view was pretty! EXTRAS: Queens marketplace is super convenient and close by! It’s expensive but I think that’s just Hawaii in general. Lots of options for anyone you’re traveling with! Cute stores for shopping! Starbucks ???? Lava Lava Beach Club: super expensive (again I think that’s just Hawaii) but they will validate your parking for 3 hours! Do not pay for parking before entering the restaurant, make sure you know your tag number and they’ll take care of it before they seat you. A-bay beach-it’s open to the public so it can get crowded, make sure you park in the free lot so you don’t get a ticket.

Do not stay in D31

53jasm (Vancouver, Canada) on Nov 26, 2024

Pros: -Roomy condos that allow families to “stretch out” and have some meals in room -Pool is slightly heated so not ice cold like some resorts -walking distance to Kings and Queens shopping centers Cons: -each unit is independently owned so there is no quality standard - even if you book direct through the Outrigger -D31 is badly in need of replacement mattresses, pillows and bedding -the furniture is mismatched and not comfortable (including what’s on the patio) -the TV didn’t work upon arrival -the shower squeals loudly when running -I keep finding dirty dishes in the cupboards
