Hot and noisy

Rented through Outrigger. The grounds were nice and the staff were very friendly. But our unit left much to be desired. As soon as we opened the front door there was an overwhelming mildewy smell and it permeated the entire unit. I think it is because the unit doesn’t have a/c and is not well ventilated. Although a standing fan was provided the unit was very hot in the afternoon. The ceiling fan seemed stuck on a low setting. The noise from the main roadway was also very loud even into the night. The kitchen was equipped with basics but the cookware was pretty beat up and there weren’t enough of basics like coffee filters. The furniture on the lanai looked dirty and the tabletop had a crack in it. I frequently stay at other Outrigger condos throughout the islands and have really enjoyed them but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll return to this one.
Great location, but no A/C

Kiahuna Plantation is in a great location - it is within walking distance to a beach and has the Poipu Shopping Village across the street. The grounds in this resort are beautiful and taken care of very well. The unit I stayed in was clean and functional, but it is relatively old just like the other units in the resort. I reserved my unit through booking.com, and their description of the unit stated that it had air conditioning and a washer/dryer. Upon arrival, I found out that the unit's "air conditioning" is only 1 evaporative cooler in the bedroom, which did not even cool the bedroom, let alone the whole apartment. The unit also does not have a washer/dryer (which was also specified in the description of the unit), so we had to use Kiahuna Plantation's common laundry building. This is an issue with Booking.com and not Kiahuna Plantations because Booking.com is the one with incorrect information on their website.
Nice room but very noisy and hot.

I have mixed feelings about this resort, the grounds were very beautiful and well kept. The room was clean and it had a kitchen. It was very easy to get around. Only a short walk to the beach and they give you access to the fitness center around the street. However I had 2 very big problems with our room. First there is no air conditioning. It was 90 degrees and very humid during our stay and we were very uncomfortable at night. Our second day we had to go to target to buy a couple of fans just to make the nights tolerable. The second issue is there are no glass windows, just shutters so it’s very noisy. We could easily hear our neighbors conversations or people walking by outside and twice a night we could hear the sprinklers come on and it would wake us up. The 3rd and most disappointing thing was we paid for an ocean view room and we got a partial ocean view room at best. If you stand in the exact right spot you can see a little bit of the ocean but it was very misleading. On our next visit to Kauai we will be staying at a different hotel.
Brian C is a lying liar who tells lies, and I have the photos to prove it.

This property is absolutely stunning and there is practically an army of groundskeepers working from dawn to dusk keeping it that way. Flowers everywhere, fallen leaves swept off immaculate lawns multiple times a day. Brian also claims that he's been coming here 20 years and he's just now decided that the pool being at the athletic club across the street (which the website is very up front about and guests can use all the amenities for free) is a problem for him? I call BS on that. My wife and I are in complete agreement that when we return to Kauai, we want to stay here again.

We have been many times over 20 years. Its become a dated property that lives off it's beach reviews. The upper units suffer from street noise .It's a very busy road with a fire station close by.They advertise a pool but it's across the street and it's a busy street.I guess because of lack of staff the grounds aren't maintained like before. We found many better places to stay.We go twice every year. You can stay somewhere else and walk to the beach.
