Gorgeous property, the cacti were spectacular. The bar makes a stellar Cactus Pear Mojito.
Excellent choice, would stay again

We chose this hotel as the vibe /appeal was very southwest. Coming from the east coast for a visit , something other than the "cookie cutter" resort was what we wanted and it didn't disappoint. From the Adobe style buildings, the dessert landscaping and the location at the base of CamelBack mountain and Mummy mountain was the perfect blend. The hotel grounds are absolutely stunning! Complete with varieties of differnt Cacti, palm trees, flowers and more flowers, even a few orange trees! I liked how the resort was laid out. Individual clusters of Adobe style buildings placed among the landscaping with winding walkways gave it a welcoming and unique feel. We booked the basic resort Casita room but being a Bonvoy member we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite and a deluxe oversized Casita room. Both were awesome and very clean. Fresh crisp linens , extra towels, well apointed furnishings complete with a safe and fridge. Both had an outdoor seating area which was nice to have morning coffee. Housekeeping was some as well. They kept it spotless and stocked. Thank you! The pool area was great also. Lots of chairs, unlimited towels, bar and restaurant (Hoppin Jacks) We did rent a cabana a few of the days and it was worth it to have a little space to yourself. It came with a stocked fridge of water and soft drinks, a huge container of sun screen, a fruit platter and a dedicated server. Emily and Mike were two of the servers at Hoppin Jacks we had during our stay and they were just awesome! Kudos to the two of you! you pampered us! Ritas Cantina was a hit as well! The food was fantastic and the servers worked hard! Thank you as well! We did not eat the Lincoln steakhouse but we were told it was really good. It's a big resort and its spread out so it never felt crowded, even when a few conventions were taking place. Overall, it was an amazing time. The staff was very welcoming and they did an excellent job. The grounds clean and very appealing. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. It's a little pricey but it was well worth it. Best hotel stay ever.

I stayed at JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa for Spring Training, and we had the best time! The resort was incredible: the team was so warm and welcoming, the atmosphere felt vibrant and fun, and our room was so spacious and cozy. We also loved the on-site Starbucks which made grabbing a morning coffee so easy. The resort is located ~15 minutes from Scottsdale Stadium, which made it so easy for us to get to while being able to come back to a relaxing, clean, and quiet atmosphere. We can't wait to come back!
Relaxing Week Needs a couple of tweaks

Let’s start with the property. Love the vibe very adobe Arizona, thoughtful beautiful landscaping water elements and flowers. They were very accommodating in changing our room the first night as there was a room above us and a lot of thumping through the ceiling. We moved to another room right away that was quiet and we slept well. Loved our room as it had a coffee station with an empty fridge and small microwave, which easily held a few yogurts, berries, OJ and milk. The room was spacious, bathroom not huge but it had two sinks, walk in closet. All good. The pool area is lovely food service, drink service all good. We especially appreciated the pitchers of water brought to your table and lounge chairs. Speaking of, there are plenty of chairs, towels, umbrellas. No need to race down at 7 am to reserve your lounge. Here are the 3 reasons I did not give them a 5 stars. First, we like to work out in the morning and with all the acreage of property the gym is inadequately small. There is very little room, if any, to lay out the mats and do floor work or use the balls. It’s overcrowded with 10 people let alone all the equipment is in use. The fitness center should be triple the size, spread out more and better designed. No comparison to the fitness center at the Phoenician down the road. They should enlarge and move the gym, have a glass wall that you can look out when on cardio treadmills etc. The current space would lend itself to a Kids game room. Here’s #2). Then there’s the beautiful spa, which you are not allowed to use at all unless you purchase one of their astronomically priced treatments. Yes, a manicure is $200. We are already paying a resort fee and the room rate is expensive as you’d expect with a luxury property. Although they advertise the Spa as one of their amenities, you cannot use the steam, sauna, showers, lockers, rest area unless you purchase a treatment and even then you can only use it the day of your treatment. It’s never busy because their price point is ridiculously high. Lastly, we found the restaurant food good but many items with inflated pricing. Ie. breakfast buffet is $41 per adult with all the regular foods you’ d expect nothing special. On the menu, at Rita’s, plain pancakes are $22, Avocado toast $24, the All American classic is $26, yogurt parfait $18, steel cut oatmeal $18, smoothies $15. Continental may be the better bet because it includes juice, coffee, breads, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereals. You’re still spending $34 for breakfast but it would be way more if you ordered the items separately. Lunch items are mostly averaging $25 and plus for any add ons. We travel extensively and stay luxury. We look for value. We get facials and massages but $250-$350 for a basic 60 minute tx. Is not value. If the facials and massages were between $125-$150, we probably would have had 2 treatments over the week. Instead I’ll wait until I get home. Just a suggestion, they should have areas of rooms for adults only and areas for families to avoid our inconvenience of unpacking getting settled then having to repack and move rooms as was our first night after a very long day of travel. It would have been nice if they had treated us to something for the inconvenience. Nope. Lastly. F/Y/I they do not have an adults only pool.
Good Room And Grounds

This is a really nice hotel in Paradise Valley—easy drive to the Arts District for great food, shows and museums, 20 minutes from airport. Grounds are beautifully landscaped, density is low and our room We stayed in a Resort Casita room and it was great—recently renovated, spacious (although small bathroom), and free parking near our room. There is a nice patio with table and chairs, but the siting of the rooms does not give much privacy as you can see directly into the bedroom across from us. There’s a nice, large pool. However, for the basic chairs by the adult pool you have to pay a fee—rather ridiculous when you’re paying $1000 a night for a room. Also surprising was the fact they only give you one robe in the room so you need to call for a 2nd one, which took 45 minutes to arrive. First time we’ve experienced only one robe in a luxury hotel, a practice which should be eliminated. We had drinks and chips/guac/sauces at Rita’s that were excellent. Also a terrific meal at Lincoln—fabulous steak, Thai chili prawns and salad. Only bad thing were the too bright recessed ceiling lights which definitely ruined the atmosphere and attractive lighting elsewhere--please get dimmers for those. Both restaurants are on-site. Other issues were a pile of garbage that was next to a main walkway for 2.5 days—finally ended up calling to ask for it to be removed. And room signage is very poorly marked—something that should be remedied. But despite those problems, overall a good stay.
