Great drinks, lots of sun, but expect an older crowd!

Lauryn C on Mar 07, 2026

Just spent a week at Select Casa Marina and had a great time. I would suggest the upgrade to Select side if you are a coffee or alcohol drinker because it was worth it. Another thing to note is the adults only side is more elders (65 plus), just something to consider. I was not looking for a party resort, but the environment was full of impatient oldies / and no music allowed to be played out loud at pools and beach without complaints lol. Entertainment was limited to evenings only. The pros: - Room was clean, renovated, comfortable bed. A bit lack of storage and we did have issues with the lights going out in the bathroom but was fixed within the hour of bringing it to the front desks attention - Drinks were great, big variety, and many upgrades on Select side (Baileys, better rum) - Beach and pools were nice, clean and bar is right next to pool so everything is in close proximity. - A la carts restaurants were amazing, worth going to every night for dinner. Good menus and selection. Try Herman’s it is an amazing experience! - Property was well maintained and workers were great! The cons: - If you weren’t at the ONE bar on the select side, the other bars don’t have blenders to make slushie drinks. - You can only get coffee or espresso at the select bar or coffee bar (aside from buffet) - Buffet food was 3/5 and quite repetitive. It’s important to note that even though it’s advertised as a different buffet for select side (I was expecting different food selection) it is the same buffet with a separate seating area. - Some of the “beef” or red meat was questionable. I think it was mostly pork but titled beef - Beach is small, we knew this before going. we only secured loungers 1 of 7 days on the beach, but it is only a short walk to access the beach from the pool so it wasn’t an issue. - Lounge chairs were hard to get, you needed to be up by 8am to get them. Overall, great experience. I don’t think I would return just because of the age range of the resort I felt a bit out of place being in my 20s but did enjoy my time there!

Disappointed with the after care customer service at the spa.

I'm still waiting for spa receipts for my insurance and it's impossible to get ahold of anyone at the spa.

Heartwarming

Linda S on Feb 24, 2026

Just finishing a 4 week stay at Select Casa Marina. This is our 4 th year vacationing at Casa, the reason being… we love it here. A couple changes to note are … the Friday lunch BBQs, new safes in each room have been updated, the TV’s and the wifi is dependable throughout the resort. Add that to the beautiful grounds, pools, and amenities! But most important of all and the main reason for our return is the staff, the personal touch, the kindness, the recognition and respect we feel from everyone is heartwarming. Thank you Casa Team, we will see you next year, Chris and Linda Stackhouse

Great Service and Amazing Atmosphere

Vlad V on Feb 19, 2026

The atmosphere of the resort was amazing and gave you everything you needed ranging from good food, to a relaxed environment to an energetic nightlife. Service at the restaurants was fantastic as well. We had a waiter named Yovanny Duran who was very warm and funny with us, which really enhanced our experience at the resort. Overall, I would definetly recommend this place and come back sometime in the near future.

Looking a Non-Stressful Experience

Curious23161403426 on Feb 14, 2026

The is the first all inclusive Adult Only that my friend and I have had a stressful experience at which is why I give this resort a rating of two (the food was great!). I reserved a room deluxe garden suite with balcony. When we arrived they "upgraded" us to a suite without a balcony. I then asked to be moved to a room with a balcony. From then on, it was just down hill. We were there for seven days, not day did we have hot water, I tried to take a shower with cold water and was left with soap in my hair as the water pressure simply went from a trickle to absolutely nothing. Out toilet failed us three times and so we became we acquainted with the house plumber. I asked for an extra blanket three times as the weather was rainy and cold but the blanket never materialized. We were on the "Select" side which is Adult only. I thought is would be quiet and peaceful and it was anything but. We could not use the hot tub as there were a group of people drunk with boom boxes shouting, singing, spilling there drinks in the tubs and smoking in the tub and the guards did nothing to stop it. No peaceful time there. We could not use the pool as it was ice cold. They are not heated so no sun, no heat. We went to an enclosed by glass walls a la carte fine dining restaurant, one of the same drunks from the hot tub came up and pressed herself up against the glass and was banging with her hands. Then she came in and was very loud and obnoxious. She did not have a reservation and the head waiter did nothing about it until I got up and complained that she was disturbing everyone who was trying to have a peaceful meal. I have been to a lot of resorts and never have I experienced anything like this. Never have I had anything negative to say about a resort in the Dominican but this one?....Don't go there! I have requested a partial refund for my room but I doubt I will see a dime. One more thing, if you are looking for a beach to walk on, this resort only has a tiny section which is closed most of the time.
