Once again, I had a fantastic time. Meet some great people. The Employees are great. These are some of the Employees that stand out. He is the major reason why I will be back. He is truly a great ambassador of this Resort. Rezzak embodies what great Hospitality looks like. He truly is a great asset to the Resort. Thank You for taking so good care of me. Much appreciated. From 2nd visit: Once again, I had a fantastic time. -------------------------------------- From 1st visit: I selected this Hotel because of Adult Only. My Stay was fantastic. Next time I want to stay in a Bungalow. Gema made my transportation arrangement and both drivers were nice guys eager to tell me about the place they live. The Driver that drove me to the Hotel made a stop at an overlook. From there you could the see the Ocean and Beach below. Making a Reservation directly with the Hotel was easy. I was able to pick 2 Spa treatments and 2 Excursions. Unfortunately, the Ziplining was cancelled and instead I did the Boat Tour. I am glad that it was cancelled. I had so much fun on this Boat. We saw a lot of cool things and learned about the History of the area. I had a great time. The check in process was very straight forward. They explained to me where what is and to use the App to navigate the Resort. I got a nice Welcome drink. Since My room was not ready yet. I walked around to check the place out. The Lobby is a great place to hang out for a while. The App is a very cool thing and very convenient It has all the information you need but rest assured that if need assistance Hamid and Juan can help you or anyone else at the Front Desk. With the App you can make your own Reservations at any of the Restaurants. You can plan activities etc. I had dinner at every Restaurants twice except Fusion. It’s a nice Restaurant but if I can sit outside and enjoy my Meal, I prefer to eat at Mar y Fuego and Mediterrenas. The food is very good at any of the Restaurants. The Buffet Restaurant has a great variety of food. Anything you can imagine they have. Fresh fruit, fresh great tasting pastries, a Salad bar, cold cuts, Pizza, Bread. It’s just a great place to grab a snack in the afternoon. Have coffee and some dessert. The Breakfast Buffet also has a great selection of food. Everything is fresh and tastes great. You can get Soda, Beer, Water or whatever you want enjoy at that particular moment. Everybody is eager to make your stay worry free and as relaxing as possible. My room had a little problem with the Patio Door and the maintenance department was very responsive and fixed the problem right away. The Shows and Parties they put on are very good and a lot of Fun. People are just having a good time. You can great Drink throughout the day. You can eat and drink as much as you want. The concept of an all-inclusive resort is great. You know exactly what you will spend for your Vacation. Tips and Taxes are included in that. If you book excursions, you know already what they cost and what is included. No surprises. However, in my opinion you should still tip from time to time. They work hard. If you stay for a week or more, you see that they work in the morning in one area and in the evening in another. A lot of the people that I will mention at the end did exactly that every day. One example is Eudy. In the mornings he works in the Buffet Restaurant and in the evening, he works at the Mediterrenas. Great guy. My Spanish is very poor. I am trying and making an effort, and I am sure they appreciate it. Some speak very little English. Like the Housekeepers. So, although we both spoke very little of each other’s language we were still able to communicate. And let’s face it everybody has a smart phone – yes there’s a App for it ?? Below are the names of some of the employees that I interacted with on a daily basis during my stay – these individuals made my stay very special. They took care of me and always had a smile on their face. They are a big part of why I will stay here again. Rezzak Hamid, Juan, Gema, Eudy, Gleni, Misael, Francisco, Victor, Elian, Elizier, Antonio, Nayely, Henry, Cesarina, Ramon, Carlos and Pedro the Driver that drove me to the Airport. And a special thanks goes to Maria who is an outstanding Massage therapist. I had two AWESOME Spa Treatments, and this is one thing for sure that I look forward to during my next visit Thanks for making my 1st visit to this Island truly memorable.

Awesome week at the Viva V Samana !

Marcilraymond (Montreal, Canada) on Oct 26, 2024

Stay from October 16 to 23, 8 people If you're looking for a super-fancy or modern-boutique resort, stop reading..... For others, you will find at Viva V a resort located in an idyllic location where the welcome and authentic flavors of the Dominican Republic are there. 1- You are almost alone on a magnificent beach. You can walk 4.5km to the left where you will only see the beautiful jungle and a few villas. It doesn't look at all like Punta Cana and its strip of hotels. The slope into the water is gradual and there can be some nice waves to have fun with. There are no palapas but the multiple palm trees provide plenty of shade. And there are plenty of chairs! 2- The swimming pool is small but quiet, it is enough for the small clientele to cool off. 3- The cocktails are mostly very good. Don’t hesitate to chat with the bartenders and let them know your preferences. Every effort is made to offer you a quality product. We were very well served by Walky at the beach bar. 4- As for the food, it's so subjective from one person to another. There is less choice than the big resorts but there are also fewer duds. Simpler menus but fewer choices means fewer failures. Authentic, tasty, you will discover the tastes of the Dominican Republic. If the local cuisine doesn't excite you, there is the full salad bar, grilled meats and fish and above all the superb pizzas cooked in a wood oven. Don't forget to have a dessert, they're really good too! 5- The rooms are perfect as they are, comfortable beds, large shower, no need for more. 6- The entertainment team is exceptional! Not like other resorts where they keep urging you to participate in activities. Here, they invite you to participate without pressure. But you're going to want to know them! We had a great time just chatting with them between activities. And language is not an obstacle because the team is international. We got to know Connie from Glasgow, Uli from Germany, Frederica from Rome, etc. They are great ambassadors for the Viva chain of hotels. Please note: tips are not the only way to get good service (but very appreciated). A smile, a HOLÀ, a GRACIAS, a few words in Spanish, with the help of Google translate, in short these little efforts are very appreciated by the staff and you will receive in return not only good service but the most beautiful smiles! Remember “Dominican” time is not the same as “North American” time. As they say "it's island time", no stress ! So go to Viva V Samana, be zen, relax and take advantage of this time to slow down and recharge your batteries.
