Housekeeping service at the all-inclusive resort was disappointing. Our room was frequently left uncleaned, and on several occasions we had to wait until the late afternoon for it to be serviced. Left out our cleaning sign early everyday. We had to call somedays to request cleaning, which should not be necessary at a resort of this standard. Overall, the inconsistency and lack of attention significantly impacted our experience.

Here’s my review and it is not good. Definitely not a 4*, pushing it to be a 3*. Upgrades and repairs are needed badly. Check in was extremely slow. Thank goodness there was only 6 of us as most times the lobby was full of people for check-ins. Rooms are outdated, water leaks everywhere, no hot water (only once), drawers fall out, plug ins don’t work, no outside handle on sliding door, shower water floods the bathroom and so on. Beds are comfy though. The food is not good, in fact both my husband and I lost weight. Trying to get into an al la carte is disastrous. We did manage to get into the Brazilian and it was one of the worst meals we have had, the chicken was raw, so beware. Mexican night was also disgusting. The food is always cold. Desserts have no taste whatsoever. The beach is lovely but impossible to get a lounge chair. Now, that brings me to what totally ruined this vacation for me - FRANK ( if that is really his name, but I do have a picture of him that I will post)THE POOL GUY! We had four loungers by the pool, I stayed and the rest of our group went to play pickle ball. I had to use the bathroom, when I came back, 2 young Mexican girls had taken over two of our loungers. I took the towels, thinking they were ours and the two girls were in the pool and starting yelling at the pool guy. He got out and came storming over to me yelling saying those aren’t your towels! I said, oh sorry I thought they were and he grabbed them and put them back on the chairs. Then he proceeded to yell at me some more saying you can’t save chairs! I tried to explain that I had just gone to the washroom but he just yelled over me and walked away saying MOTHERF@CKER. I was in tears and shaking for over an hour. Meanwhile, every other chair was saved and not a person in them! This man has anger issues and should not be around the public. The girls were obviously workers at the resort on their day off because every staff member that went by them stopped to talk to them. Then when my group came back, two security guys, lifeguard and another worker stood by us and talked about us. Yes, we know what you were saying, we understood parts of it. The next day he went at another couple and we also saw him yelling at an 80 year old. He would walk around pounding fists and yapping. We saw so many fights over saving chairs it was insane. They don’t say anything to the Mexicans who save chairs and I would say 80% of the vacationers were Mexican. They 100% need more chairs. I will be filing a complaint. The rest of the staff were lovely and very helpful. Just typing this review has me shaking again. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK! Thank goodness we got a really good deal. The others that were with us have been there two other times and said it really has gone down hill and they won’t be back either.

Pros. Great hotel. Lots of sandy beach access. Pools are nice. Lots of bars throughout the resort. Staff are very friendly. Right across street from edge of Bucerias. Cons. - The food isn’t very good (buffet or Al a carts) - and I’m not a food snob. - Dinner reservation is through an app and it only worked once our entire trip. Had to line up at 8am in Libby to book a dinner reservation and usually sold out. They rotate which restaurants are open for dinner (not all are open). - pools and beach need more chairs. Lots of space for extra chairs. Impossible to find a beach chair. Everyone blocks chairs off with towels and leaves. Hotel has signs everywhere saying this isn’t allowed but they don’t enforce. - coffee is terrible at the resort. Good coffee shop across the street - evening entertainment is at a theatre across street from hotel. Outdoor, concrete amphitheater. Entertainment is hit and miss. No alcohol available. - no washcloths in the rooms. Hand towels only. Very strange. Overall a great vacation and Bucerias is beautiful. Next time we won’t stay here.

I recently returned from a trip to the Grand Decameron Complex and I don't think that I would ever return. The staff is so amazing and very friendly (minus one pool cleaner), they really go above and beyond to make your experience great. The rooms are dated but I am not in Mexico for my room. The ocean front rooms are the best as you can see whales from your room! There are no swim up bars, which I was well aware of and I am happy to hop out of the pool to grab a drink. The thing that I have not seen anyone mention is that they DO NOT LET YOU DRINK IN THE POOL. You can sip you drink on the edge of the pool but if you go any further than the edge security or the pool cleaner will come and scold you for drinking in the pool. I found this super odd, drinks were in closed cups or in plastic cups so no glass. My main goal of a vacation is to float in the pool with a drink in my hand and not being able to do that is reason alone for me not wanting to return. The food was alright but nothing great. Getting a reservation is next to impossible unless you plan to line up at 630AM. I had a hot shower once in the 8 days that we were there. The rest of the time it is just warm/on the colder side. The crowd at the resort is on the older side so just be mindful of that. The adult pool is actually the "quiet pool" and they do not appreciate people being loud or anything like that. My favorite thing is all of the iguanas that are around the resort. I love seeing them all come down from the trees when it is their lunch time. They don't mind being around people and just saunter past you as you are at the pool!

--- ## Review: Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias, A Trademark All Inclusive **Travel Date:** March 2026 **Trip Type:** Friends --- We booked this knowing it was a more budget-friendly resort, and it delivered about what we expected. The lobby was clean, check-in was smooth, but our request for Block 4 was ignored and we were placed in Block 5 (which was noisy from nightly shows). Staff were very friendly overall, but the smoking rules were overly strict with not enough designated areas. ---## Rooms Nothing special, but clean and comfortable. AC worked well, Wi-Fi was hit or miss, and noise in Block 5 was noticeable at night. Housekeeping did a great job. ### Food & Drinks Decent overall—always something to eat, but nothing amazing. À la cartes were hard to get into and some weren’t open. Drinks were average, and coffee wasn’t great (ended up going to BICI Coffee Bike Shop most mornings). Service was a big plus—everyone was friendly and helpful. **Huge shoutout to Oscar beach activities staff (Ocean Sports)**—he was the standout of the trip. He ran all the beach activities (paddle boards, kayaks, boogie boards, catamarans), everything was included, and he made it fun every day. Easily the best part of the resort. Good pool and beach setup with plenty of loungers. Entertainment was typical—nothing special but enjoyable. Enough activities to keep you busy. **? Pros:** * Friendly staff * Clean resort * Great beach & included activities * Oscar (Ocean Sports) was amazing **? Cons:** * Room request ignored * Noisy rooms (Block 5) * Strict smoking rules * Food & drinks just average * À la cartes hard to access Good value for the price, but nothing high-end. **Would I return?** Maybe for the right price. **Best for:** Budget travelers, friend groups, and anyone who just wants a fun, easy trip. Also a great location—close to downtown with fun spots like The Drunken Duck (Voodoo Monkey) and Jax Bar & Grill Bucerias. Felt very safe with strong resort security.
