Poor Customer Service

Cynthia J on Aug 05, 2026

Extremely disappointing customer service. I have made multiple attempts to contact the hotel by phone regarding my reservation, but no one has been willing to help or provide a solution. I have also been working with Wyndham to modify or cancel my reservation, but the hotel has not responded to Wyndham's requests either. It's very frustrating to be completely unable to communicate with the property when you need assistance. A hotel should be reachable and responsive, especially when guests are trying to resolve a reservation issue before arrival. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend booking here unless you're comfortable with little to no customer support if something goes wrong.

Genuinely good hotel

So…. This hotel is probably my favorite out of all of the one’s i’ve been, we got room 6114 in sector 6 i have seen the other reviews so its nice to see how much it has changed in those times, anyways, staff was nice the food was good, it’s not like crazy 5 star restaurant but its good, i recommend Restaurante Tropical (Tropical Restaurant) and if your a meat lover, go have dinner at the restaurant near Restaurante Flamingos, i forgot the name :( pools were nice i guess it was warm but i’d prefer it cold, it’s probably cause it was insanely HOT this time of year activities were fun also the iguanas were chill. Sadly we weren’t able to swim in the sea cause there was a blue flag and my mom is scared i might get bit by a jellyfish, by the way the shows at night are super cool. So to sum up my 4 days we had: hotel fun, food good and beach is nice

Not the decameron of old. Prob 15th trip to this property. People are still great but good luck sourcing out what restaurant is open. World cup viewing was a gong show. TV in lobby bar showing cartoons and couldn't turn the channel to watch mexico vs Korea today.WHAT?? the beach bar removed their TV all together. Another 150 buck would have got us the Riu up the street. So disappointed. There won't be a 16th trip

We had always wanted to stay at this hotel again and 23 years late we did so! By far the best aspect of this hotel for us was th

We were in block 5, 2nd floor and found the room to be comfortable. It was clean, cool, we had a great room attendant who kept our room in good shape for the 2 week stay. Although older, and not fancy the bed was comfortable and it was quiet. The buffets were all quite busy as the hotel was full. Not all the restaurants were open each day so the largest restaurant tended to be full a lot. I must say the restaurant staff worked very hard keeping everyone happy in the dining room. I found the food overall to be very good. There were enough options to vary meals each day and if you liked something it was also available. The fish ceviche was always good, fresh! There were few other non mexican tourists at the resort and there were many bus tours in and out over our 2 week stay. It was busy but we were always able to find a spot at the beach each day. They could put more seating at the beach as it is spectacular! We only went to the adult only pool as other pools were busy with lots of kids. Overall it was great, restful vacation. Would recommend this hotel to families and over 50!

Low budget, need low expectations.

We stayed in room 1210 in block 1. The view from balcony is very nice. Unfortunately the AC would barely keep the room at24C even after complaining twice, the bathroom is very small, shower door ready to fall off, Luke warm water from shower, toilet seat ready to fall off and no potable water from taps. You are allocated one big bottle of water in your room each day. We were told that buildings 5-6 are newer. Pools all got very dirty each day, scum very apparent. Iguana poop everywhere and they often climb on your chairs. They do try to clean it up promptly. Buffet food is below average with the only hot items being omelettes and pasta. Although the Ala cartes food was pretty good, you had to get up early to go wait in line for a reservation for that day. Entertainment in courtyard at 8pm was always really good, entertainment staff got people up dancing and the music was of good quality. Bar drinks were good but buffet juices were badly watered down. Coffee was too weak for our tastes but found a shop across street that was good. Depending on tide beach was nice to walk on, water was good to wade in, waves fun for younger people. There are Tiger Eels in the water but they are harmless. Budget to eat off resort at least a few times. La Vita Dolce is excellent. Upsides are cheaper resort and shorter flight(4.5hrs from Calgary). We will visit PV again but not this resort.
