Terrible experience overall

Problems with our Air Canada Vacation experience at Bahai Principe Bavaro, Punta Cana Sitting on bus at airport for more than a half hour waiting for others to show up, meanwhile the “guide” was pushing his $5 US Presidente beer and others were trying to sell drugs from parking lot Check in at resort was disorganized and confusing Arrived to our rooms which were very musty smelling. In fact when we got home all clothes smelled of foust and had to be washed (even our clean clothes) Mosquitoes in rooms every night and we got bitten even though we tried to keep doors closed at all times Buffet times were inconvenient with them closing 10:30 in the morning thus having nothing available til lunch with them closing again before supper Buffet food was generally cold unless ordered direct from cooks. Wouldn’t eat prepared cold cuts cheeses etc because flies were landing on the food. Even though we tipped, bartenders were generally not good. As it’s billed as an ALL inclusive, the beer and liquor selection was terrible with extreme premium prices for normal beer and liquor Although there were some nice staff, most were not friendly Nephew booked a scuba experience from what appeared to be a resort sales guy but there was a gross lack of safety practiced during the trip especially being hauled up too fast from their dive. Specialty restaurants were ok except for the Mexican which had an abundance of mosquitoes in the restaurant Pools closed too early at around 6:30 each day Pool attendants were taking towels off chairs while nephew was in pool and forced him to pay for more Left gift for maid each day with a note to put diet pepsi in the fridge and we never got it 3 days in a row. We had to find the maid and tip her again The room was very dated, the beds were hard and the bathtub was rusty. None of the tv channels worked. None of the glassware in the room was sanitized or sealed in plastic. The maid washed the glasses using tap water that was not even fit to brush our teeth The hotel had no face cloths Beach was full of seaweed and it stank – no efforts to clean it as other resorts were doing No indication of when the pool party would be. On Friday we found out it was held on Tuesday and it would only be held once for the week Lack of entertainment options Service in the buffet was lacking – had to ask 3 different servers to bring our first cup of coffee and wait awhile
Terrible

Lengthy review- I have traveled around the world to many destinations and stayed in many hotels- this is by far THE WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. On the very first day, our room was changed four times due to incorrectly placing our group. We needed two queen beds- twice they put us in king rooms, the third room had a broken ac and alas we moved onto our fourth room which was outdated like the others The buffet was disgusting. The food was not edible. I had food poisoning after the first breakfast I had there. The restaurants however were decent but you are only allowed one reservations every three days which is ridiculous. The customer service was horrendous. Check in was a disaster. Some people at the front desk and guest services were not friendly. Very few people were nice and helpful like the waiters and waitresses we had. The pool was nothing special. Expect to wait 20 minutes for a drink while other rude guests are on top of you yelling their native language for a drink on the spot (which they of course get). I felt very unsafe at the hotel. There were no cameras in the villas while you walk up to your room or really anywhere. I did not see one camera and very few security guards around the resort. Even though all people are “guests,” there were very questionable people who “stayed” at the resort who made us feel very uncomfortable and we questioned our safety multiple times. At of the four days we stayed, we saw about 30 roaches. In addition, our legs were swollen from all the mosquito bites we had. I am not exaggerating when I say I had over 40 bites. One thing I did observe, however, Americans were not treated nicely here. The workers clearly favored their natives or anyone who spoke their language. Many workers do not understand or speak English. So if you are from America, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Run far away from this place. I don’t even know how it is approved to be a hotel. Disgusting.
