Easy to Find but Difficult to Enter.

Easy to find but very difficult to enter. Very near the Old City which we walked two a few times. There was construction in front of the hotel and it appeared there was construction on the hotel building itself. The temporary parking for check in was very limited and difficult to enter and exit. It was impossible on our motorcycles to stop there. I had to park in a no parking, construction zone, walk a block, go to the third floor to check in. Check in was very slow. I did have a language problem since they speak Quebec French. However, they were very patient and spoke enough English. They were extremely nice. Everyone in Quebec were very nice, contrary to what I have heard. The parking garage entrance is not marked very well. To get to the parking garage from our room we had to take two elevators. This was also required to exit the hotel. There there were luggage carts available. The parking garage is very non motorcycle friendly. A full size pick up may not fit. The room was clean with 3 bath, 2 face, 2 hand towels. Lighting needs to be brighter. It is a long way down to the parking garage which is under the hotel. One must take two different elevators to get there, even to exit the hotel. The location is the big plus. If I was to stay there again I would call and ask if the construction was finished, can I easily park in front of the hotel to check in, and do I need to go to the third floor to check in. Considering it is Quebec City the price was OK. By the way, in Quebec the pedestrians TAKE the right of way. Drive carefully.

Stayed 1 nite here after I dropped my kid off at camp. Check-in was somewhat difficult, because female desk clerk had a very thick accent. Otherwise, awesome place, with attention to detail on all levels - bed and pillows were super comfy, modern TV, excellent WI-FI. Was granted quiet room on upper floor, as requested. Impeccable room and bathroom. Nice italian coffee machine. Year prior I had stayed at the Hilton next door, but was disappointed. I'll certainly be returning to this Delta next year.

Great spot for the money.

Please take this review for what it is. This hotel is outside of the old city, but not by much. A few minutes walk and you’re right where you want to be. If you’re going to be outside most of the day, it doesn’t necessarily matter where you’re staying as long as it’s safe, clean, quiet and comfortable. Parking is adjacent to the building and an easy walk. Renovations are ongoing out front. Beds are a little stiff, but otherwise no issues. The room was clean, folks were kind, breakfast was fine. For the money, you can’t beat it. It’s pretty easy to overlook hallway carpets and dated finishes when you utilize Quebec City to your advantage.

Delta Hotel Quebec City - Great View of the Hilton Heated Pool

Recently spent at weekend in Quebec City and stayed at the Delta Hotel by Marriott with my GF. While this hotel is generally located in an area close to Old Town and public transportation (bus lines), our experience at this hotel was less than average. Being Titanium and Platinum Marriott Rewards members, we were not treated in anyway that would reflect our level of loyalty to the brand. For example, our upgrade request was rejected although upgraded room(s) that we had requested were clearly available. We were offered a choice, however, of one candy sweet ... I guess to share between us. The Reception clerks did their best to deny our upgrade requests. Eventually, although not an upgrade, we were assured that we were provided with a king room on the 12th floor with a great view. The great view was of the heated pool at the Hilton hotel, which was being enjoyed by the Hilton guests. Thanks for the view. We'll definitely check out the Hilton next time.

Avoid this hotel

Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel. As a Marriott Platinum member I can assure you it no longer meets the Marriott standards. We’ve stayed at this hotel a few times in the past without issues but the hotel has significantly gone downhill. We arrived at 3:20pm on a Friday afternoon at which time we were advised that our room was not ready and no upgrades were available despite contacting them 2 days in advance. Since they no longer have a club lounge we were told to wait in the lobby. When our room was ready I was told that parking had to be paid via the machine in the parking garage despite the Marriott App promoting you to check yes/no for parking. After questioning them about the app, they finally added it to my bill ($25/night) and gave me a parking ticket (as it was done in the past). They advised me that as a Platinum level member I qualified for two free breakfast however my kids (11 and 13) would not be getting vouchers. As we were going to bed, we soon realized that numerous electrical plugs were not working (resolved the next day). The next morning we woke up and headed for breakfast, as we walked out the elevator at 7am, we all stepped into vomit. When I advised the front desk she grimaced and checked her own shoes, and said they would clean it. After breakfast we headed to our rooms to get ready and soon realized we only had two towels, despite a 4 person reservation. Our room wasn’t cleaned on the second day (we were gone from 8:30-4:30, and asked by the front deak if we had the “Do not disturb” sign, we of course didn’5), the pool felt like it was 110F which was unbelievably hot (never used to be that way). The hotel is going through some desperately needed renovations but there is no need to have old raggedy towels etc. Beyond disappointed with this hotel and we’ll be sure to stay elsewhere next time.
