Bad experience at the lobby

DrCDavisB (Chile) on Jul 13, 2024

Not great at all. We booked this hotel and we were informed only 48 hrs before our arrival that there were renovations in the hotel but never mentioned the “size” of the renovations. It was a disgrace, honestly. Half of the hotel was in construction/renovation activities. When we arrive to our room there was no lights working. The front desk indicated that there was no maintenance staff to fixed and this was due to the renovations but by next day it will be fix and if we wanted to change room they can do it but did not recommended as the other rooms where in worst conditions. No apologies whats so ever in fact they told us that is was just one night so can be that bad. Horrible.

Do not stay here

BRUNO G (Moncton, Canada) on Jul 06, 2024

We quickly saw the hotel but very hard to actually enter it, no clear directions and signs. Hotel is in terrible shape, the worse marriott property I’ve stayed at and I’m lifetime platinum status. Hallways and rooms are old and dirty. They need a major renovation. Location is ok. Staff were pleasant. Parking is difficult and expensive. Overall it is really how old and run down everything is . Not acceptable for a Delta property. They need to unload this location as it is embarrassing to the brand

Staff is great, but hotel is in disarray.

mic_sam (Vancouver) on Jun 27, 2024

Mixed emotion here. I arrived not knowing the extend of the renovation. It 100% affects your stay. Fortunately, Im here for one night only. My room is very very dated, but clean. On the 12th floor. Nice view of Quebec North. The hotel was obviously in serious need for renos. Perhaps management should have closed down rather than putting patrons in this mess. Room service is very limited, floors are messy with dust everywhere. Elevators are an absolute nightmare. I will say that the staff are working really hard to ensure their best customer service compensate for the inconveniences around. I would avoid staying here until the renos are completed at all cost. I might give this hotel another chance based on the customer service I have received and the reviews that will be posted eventually.

Dirty, broken down, with incredibly dangerous elevators

Shannon M on Jun 22, 2024

My husband and I are staying here for part of our honeymoon… wish we would’ve stayed across the street. Construction everywhere, tiny bathrooms, overall just grimy and dirty. Staff was amazing. I’ll start with that. They were very kind and eager to please. The bed was pretty comfortable. The shampoo/conditioner/body wash is amazing and smells great. That’s about all the good things I have to say. Pool is murky and cloudy, they gave us dirty towels on more than one occasion, several of the outlets don’t work, the lampshades in our room were broken, there is construction all over the place, you have to get on two different elevators to get to your room (more on that later), there are large gaps between the door and the frame so the light from the hallway pours into the room all night, the A/C unit fan is behind the curtains so if you want the room to get cool, you have to sacrifice your privacy and leave the curtains wide open, the wallpaper is peeling in the rooms, the bathroom door jams all the time so you have to jiggle the knob and force it open half the time, and THE ELEVATORS!!! I cannot even describe how dangerous these elevators are. There are two sets. One only goes up to the third floor and then you have to get on a different one to actually get to your room. The ones that go from the garage level to the third floor bounce and shake like crazy and make horrible noises every time you get on them. The ones that go from the third-top floors seem better at first and are cleaner and larger, but the doors open before the elevator stops moving! It typically continues moving for about a foot after the doors are fully open. At one point, the elevator stopped about 6 inches below our floor and never actually made it all the way up so we just carefully stepped up onto our floor and hoped it didn’t come crashing down. So dangerous. The construction makes the whole building look ugly and makes it difficult to access. We will absolutely not be staying here again. It’s in a really central location which was convenient, but it’s definitely worth walking a bit farther to not have to stay here. Sorry.

Kudos to the Concierges

Mike M (Lewes, Delaware) on Jun 21, 2024

This hotel was perfectly located and had a friendly staff. I especially liked the help provided by the concierge who helped us find a piano bar and some great restaurants (Bistro Hortus and the Continental). They were doing some maintenance on the facade over the entrance which was protected by scaffolding. The room was large, clean and comfortable.
