Not suitable for multiple day stay

The room is not cleaned daily. We stayed for several days and the room got filthy and apparently, they do not clean the rooms (towels, beds, vacuuming, garbage, etc) until 7 days unless requested. We did request, 2 times, and even after that the room was not vacuumed and the toilet was not cleaned. Our dirty towels remained on the floor for days. If I pay for a hotel room I expect the beds to be made and the room cleaned daily. I would not recommend this hotel. Ever.

Not A Wondeful Experience

Front Desk- We were staying from NB due to a family emergency. I called to negotiate a rate with sales due to the fact my mother would be staying for weeks while my father recovered. I never received a call back from sales, once I arrived I asked the desk three times(was told they would talk to sales). We found other accommodations for my mother and we checked out. Upon check out I asked about the rate, and it was the same as I was told over the phone initially with no change from sales. One night we were given bracelets for the pool- another night we did not. Key given by front desk for pool did not work and we had to go back to the desk to get a new one. Breakfast - We stayed four nights and each morning the breakfast became progressively worse. One of the staff members serving was wearing sweat pants? Looked like he just came from the gym. The man bringing the food out looked more professional. The potatoes were not cooked and raw, eggs were large chuncks, cold and hard. Coffee was consistently cold and the juice was watered down and tasted like it needed to be changed. The hot water was hot for my tea though.. Housekeeping- When we checked in, our room had two beds- one of which had a large noticeable stain on the sheet by the pillow and a hair. Which was neglect by the housekeeper as it was very visible. Bathroom was extremely dusty, baseboards included. There was a large stain on the chair which we are sure was blood.

A convenient & well-maintained little gem in St. John's

I was very happy with the service provided by the hotel: from the email communication regarding current major road work in front of the hotel, to the complimentary upgrade from a regular King room to an Executive King Suite (Bonvoy Gold elite). Room number was provided to me in the afternoon of my arrival day on my Mobile Bonvoy app. Check in & check out at the hotel was super fast and easy. Breakfast served by a waiter was just the normal fare with egg, sausages & potatoes. Muffins, boxed cereal, milk, juice and fruit were all self-served items. Tables were well-spaced to allow social distancing at the breakfast area on the main floor next to the reception. Complimentary hotel parking was plentiful and the parking lot was well-lit when we arrived at midnight. The hotel is about a 10-minute drive from St. John’s airport and there are lots of restaurants and shops around. Walmart Supercentre with a lot of other stores is only 5 minutes away. Trans Canada Highway is also a 5-minute drive so the location is very convenient. I highly recommend this hotel.

Honeymoon Suite

Stayed in the honeymoon suite and was more than expected. Very clean, comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. Staff was eager to accommodate . Pool was fun with the family . Thanks Fairfield!! We certainly enjoyed our stay.

Self Isolating in NL. Could not have picked a better Hotel!

Right from the time that I reserved my room at the Fairfield, I knew I had chosen the right place. Tara who had taken my reservation was at the front desk when I arrived. I was tired and overwhelmed and she calmed me right down. Both Tara and Anna (also from the front desk) always made sure that my breakfast was delivered to my door each morning. Tara even went out of her way to pick up an order of paint canvases from Michaels for me. I was a little concerned that about being stuck in a hotel room alone for 14 days but the staff here has made me feel very comfortable and are always quick to bring me whatever I need. The employees that I have names for are Tara, Anna and Kevin (or maybe Tom) but there has been many others (who I don't have names for) that need recognition as well. Anyone working the second two weeks of August have been incredible as well. I would recommend this hotel to everyone , no matter what your reason for staying in St. John's. I am very impressed with everything from the cleanliness of my hotel room to the helpfulness of all staff that have made my stay enjoyable. Thank you to all. Judy
