Meh

Charli P (St. John's, Canada) on Sep 04, 2023

Came for a wedding. Checked in through the app 72 hours prior so they knew we were coming and would be there prior to the standard 3pm. Met with attitude at the front desk about an early check in but was “graciously accommodated”. Room needed to be defeathered; housekeeping barged in without knocking. Wifi in room did not work, but we weren’t in the room long enough to really need it. Rooms need a facelift and updating (the wallpaper in the bathroom reminds me of the old Fairmont line). Beds were comfy and view was lovely.

Clean comfortable an near the action

woodmister (Edmonton, Canada) on Aug 29, 2023

The property was clean. The service was great. Excellent walking access to the St John’s harbour. Pretty close to the start of the Terry Fox historic run. Close (within walking distance) to shopping and restaurants. The bed was good. The shower was fine. The hotel is well appointed. The pool is special. This property is close to much of the action and sights of St John’s.

Good location but short staffed

Ann D (Northville, Michigan) on Aug 03, 2023

Our room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were very kind and greeted us warmly. The hotel location was an easy walk to the waterfront shops. The hotel seemed short-staffed and was unable to clean up meeting rooms or bring towels to the pool after multiple requests. A nice place to stay, but bring your patience.

Old and inconvenient

thea12345678 (Aalborg, Denmark) on Jun 26, 2023

The first annoying thing - I paid for one more night than necessary due to my flight was delayed and no one at the hotel picked up and helped me changing the reservation. I had free cancellation on my hotel booking up until the day before check-in, but i just wanted to postpone my stay with one day. I called the hotel multiple times, but no one picked up and I would be in a plane, if I lay a message asking them to call back later. I had no e-mail address to contact and I didn’t dare to cancel everything and risk not having a room at all. That was quite annoying and looking back, I would be better of just canceling all nights and stay at another hotel. Second annoying thing - I had breakfast included in my stay, but before I was able to “enjoy” it, I had to go to the hotels front desk to get a coupon. Most mornings there was a queue of people checking in/out, that you had to wait in before you could get your coupon. And even though i had breakfast included all days of my stay, they couldn’t just give me coupons for all days. I afsked the hotel staff why, and they claimed it’s the only way they can handle it. But come on - that’s not normal practice for hotel breakfasts. Normally the waiter asks your room number and note it. Sheratons solution is very inconvenient for the guests. Third annoying thing - Very limited healthy choices in the breakfast buffet. Artificial flavored yoghurts that could be topped with cornflakes - no granola. And limited fruit and melons. Rest of the breakfast was quite heavy. I had breakfast two days during my stay, because most days I did’t want to go though the queue at the front desk to get lousy breakfast. Fourth annoying thing - the room was old and worn out. If you are more than 180cm tall, you have to bend your knees to get your head under water because the shower head is quite low. All in all - not recommending this to anyone.

Nice but

dallymc1728 (South Alton, Canada) on Jun 22, 2023

We stayed as part of an incentive trip. The hotel has amazing food and the staff is friendly. The lobby and restaurant are tasteful and modern. It is a great location to walk downtown from and you must try Craig's Cookies across the street. Beautiful views when it's not socked in. The rooms are dated and a little worn. Like the leather headboard had wear marks - funny but also ew. Carpets had stains. We had to ask for enough towels and the glasses weren't changed. The room service glass stayed in the room until checkout which was odd. The other strange piece was someone knocked then proceeded to open the door, said they were from housekeeping and they had " the spray" when asked what spray and blocking the door they sighed and left.
