Cancelled our stay due to customer service

We booked the 4BR penthouse for an upcoming family trip, but were really worried about some of the reviews regarding poor customer service, a 7am reservation deadline, and slow dining service. One review indicated they tried to make dinner reservations at 6:55 am and were told to try back at 7am; but when they tried again, the line was busy. When the line finally went through, they were told all reservations were taken. Other reviews shared that some of the employees were outright rude. Staying in the penthouse for an all-inclusive stay is expensive, and so I was really concerned that we wouldn't get our money's worth staying at The Alexandra.
I called The Alexandra to ask some questions about what we can expect. My
first question had to do with making reservations at restaurants. The woman I spoke to said she had to transfer me to the property, which she immediately did without waiting for me to ask my other questions. I didn't have the chance to say "wait!" or "but!" -- as she had very abruptly transferred my call.
At the property, nobody answered. It sent me straight to voicemail.
We considered this a bad sign and went ahead and cancelled our reservation.
