Great value even if not luxurious

Advantages: location and value is good - very near lots of restaurants and the beach, although you don't have to pay beach front prices. You just have to walk an easy five minutes through another resort and there you are on the wonderful Grace Bay beach. The best part is that once you're there, the hotel does have ample beach chairs and umbrellas and an attendant to give you towel and kids toys. This was a really wonderful aspect of Villa del Mar. There are also several pools to jump in, so they never feel too crowded. The staff was also generally helpful (with one exception noted below). They have cold water dispersed around the grounds to fill your water bottles. Drawbacks: the first floor room we stayed on smelled a bit moldy. It is nice that they have breakfast included, but it is very basic - think roadside motel in the US - toast, white bread, dry cereal, bananas. One day they had a waffle maker out. The attendant was totally disinterested and not very friendly. Overall a very good option - you won't be pampered - but you get good value in a beautiful location.

Kindness I’ll Never Forget

Ashley Z on Jul 28, 2026

I wanted to take a moment to recognize the incredible management team and staff at Villa Del Mar for going above and beyond during our stay. My wife and I were celebrating our 12-year anniversary with a quick Friday through Sunday getaway, and from the very beginning, they made it a memorable experience. I’ll be the first to admit—I can be a little high maintenance at times, and I’m perfectly okay owning that! The first manager I met was amazing and surprised us with a beautiful penthouse upgrade to help celebrate our anniversary. It truly made the weekend feel special. Then Saturday night happened… We had a little too much fun at Noah’s Ark, and a great time was definitely had. Unfortunately, I ended up with a pretty significant knee injury. Thanks to the adrenaline (and a few too many drinks), I didn’t realize how bad it was until the middle of the night. By Sunday morning, I couldn’t stand or even move my leg without severe pain. Checkout quickly became one of the most stressful parts of the trip. I was determined to make it back home to Dallas to get treated and really didn’t want to seek medical care while in Turks and Caicos. That’s when I met another manager who showed an incredible amount of kindness and compassion. She graciously allowed us a late checkout, helped coordinate everything, and made sure I was able to get checked out of the hotel and into a taxi for the airport despite barely being able to walk. My injury may have been completely self-inflicted, but the way the staff cared for us made all the difference. Their genuine concern and willingness to help turned what could have been a terrible ending into another reason we’ll gladly return. We visit Turks and Caicos often—typically twice a year, and on a really good year, three times. We’ve traditionally stayed at Seven Stars Resort, but for this weekend we decided to give Villa Del Mar a chance. While the amenities are naturally different, the location is outstanding. Being just steps from Grace Bay Beach and within walking distance of so many restaurants, shops, and attractions made it an incredible value. Most importantly, it was the people who made this stay unforgettable. To the wonderful management team and staff: thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such great care of us. Your kindness, professionalism, and hospitality did not go unnoticed, and you’ve absolutely earned returning guests. We’ll definitely be back—with family and friends—and hopefully we’ll be staying in that penthouse again! And I promise… I’ll try not to be nearly as reckless next time! ??

Hidden Gem: far exceeded our expectations

GabGo798026 (Saint Louis, Missouri) on Jul 09, 2026

This is long, but I always read reviews so I want to make sure I provide some detailed information in my review. Took my first trip to Turks and Caicos in mid June and just got back two weeks ago. I cannot believe it took me this long to visit and this is by far my favorite destination when it comes to islands! We will be back again… and again… We booked through Costco and were looking at hotels on Grace Bay for the beach, the nearby shops, etc. For the same price of many of the hotel rooms, we found a two bedroom two bathroom suite at Villa Del Mar -directly behind Grace Bay Club resort. I’m going to be honest, at first I wasn’t thrilled because I wanted to be on the water and at what I thought would be a “nicer” property, but agreed to this location because of the solid reviews online and we had two adult women traveling so each of us appreciated having our own space. Villa Del Mar far exceeded my expectations! The suite was very basic, but it was clean, we had a large balcony that looked out over the beautifully maintained pool area, the beds and pillows were comfortable, we had a washer and dryer, the air-conditioning was very very cool, the location was perfect, and most importantly, the staff was awesome - from everybody working at the front desk, to the bartender at the tiki bar, to the housekeeping staff. Regarding the staff: we interacted with quite a few people, but most often Olivier, Wesline and Wilkin (at the tiki bar). Olivier was our guy! He was so helpful and we most often interacted with him. He was very friendly, funny, knowledgeable, had great recommendations and was always on top of getting cabs and things like that. Wesline was lovely! She was incredibly helpful as well, had some great recommendations, and shared some really cool local background regarding the islands. Now to their small, but shockingly impressive, tiki hut … Wilkin was the daily bartender and he was great! He was really friendly, funny and made some great drinks! I actually thought the drinks would be horrible here because it’s smaller so I figured they would have crap level alcohol, but I was pleasantly surprised at the decent alcohol, Prosecco and quality of drinks Wilkin made. OK, now the property… Really well maintained and just super chill. It was nice to sit out on the balcony in the morning with coffee or breakfast and just watch the families in the pools. The location was perfect! We literally just walked out the front door and straight through the beach club path onto the beach, where Villa Del Mar had its own set up run by two amazing twins! Those guys are great. Super friendly and always got us an excellent set up. Plus, we had access to any of the food and drinks in the surrounding areas because nothing is all inclusive. And we could easily walk to all the shops and many of the restaurants (because this property does not have a restaurant, which actually ended up being just fine). I just can’t say enough about the property, its operation and the location. Again, I was surprised at how much I loved it, plan to stay here again and head to spread the word! I will say I think Costco does a great job of vetting properties that they make available on their site. The only thing I didn’t love is they don’t have a fitness center. That’s important to me when I travel, but was able to work around it for this trip.
