Great value

This is an older hotel that is far from the airport, the wifi seemed to work only in the lobbies of each floor ( nice seating area) That being said, its clean, its safe, the people are extremely friendly, lots of pool chairs around the pools and on the beach. It has a list of drinks posted with their ingredients at the bar for people wanting to try something new. We walked from our hotel to the Decameron coral (20 min walk on the beach) and got to enjoy free drinks there which was nice. I think its a great value for your money, but if you are accustomed to 5*, you wont like it here. If you are looking for a great deal with Mexican authenticity, clean rooms, friendly atmosphere then you will like it here. I personally enjoyed the food, the breakfast omelet lady would sing when so worked. I will miss that.

I really enjoyed my time here. Don't let the 1 hours drive here deter you, it is worth the drive. The food was really good and they did a good job switching up the menu. Also there are 2 other decameron resorts close by that you are also allowed to visit and partake in all activities and food options. The entertainment staff are all amazing and really work hard making sure everyone has a great time. Bar service is top notch as well. Nothing bad to say about thus place at all. I will definitely be returning in the future.

The location is a tad out of the way at approx. 1 hour and 15 min from the PV airport, the Sunwing Representation is very sparse at arrival and very limited English spoken at reception. Once arrived and settled, this little resort has a lot of charm. It is quiet and seems to cater to a more mature Western Canadian crowd mixed in on weekends with locals and their families, added charm. We were allocated accommodations in Building 2, quiet area with basic rooms, king bed, very clean and comfortable with all your basic necessities. A hair blower was made available after a formal request. For a 3.5 star resort, the food was very good with lots of variety, pork, beef, chicken and fish most nights, pasta to your hearts content. The kitchen servers are very attentive and do their utmost to accommodate your every whim, even provide you with bigger coffee cups in the morning. The A la Carte restaurants are very challenging to book (only on line), but again, with the help of our Sunwing Rep, still made possible and the Steak House is very nice. The best feature of this resort, cleanliness, the well spread of 4 pools, so many bathrooms through out, always kept clean, never out of paper and never any water found on the floors. The staff work tirelessly to make your stay the best that can be. If you are mobility impaired, this resort could be challenging as some stairs are throughout, but some elevators can be also found as well as some ramps, but the steak house would be more difficult to reach. (the adult building and pool area are also only accessible by stairs) Again, anyone finding fault with this 3.5 star, great value should pay the extra and visit Secrets and Sandals in other parts of Mexico. This resort still has the authentic feel of Mexico with all its charm. We will be back.
Overall 3.5 stars

Overall decent at the right price point. Most staff speak marginal English. They do try the best they can. The room in block one we were in was nothing special. Block two were decent block four also decent. It does cater to my guess is locals. Food was ok. Breakfasts were good. Bacon runs out quickly and not replaced. Omelettes were good. Lunch and dinner buffets were ok. Getting into the ala carte restaurants impossible so can’t comment as we never got in. Also some alcohols did run out did not have much for top shelf alcohol. Our price was $1500 pp airfare included. Would possibly go back at the right price. Special shout out to bartender Abraham who gave us amazing service. Also Jaime was someone to ask if you needed help. The head desk also went above and beyond as we showed up at 4am and they had snacks for everyone.
My only gripe is the behavior around the adults only pool.

This is our third time here, but first time in adults only. Thing that annoys me are what I call “pool pigs”. As soon as the sun comes up they put their towels on the lounge chairs to save them but don’t occupy them. Took pictures this morning and of twenty some lounge chairs only two were occupied. This is totally unacceptable and rude behaviour and should not be tolerated by the resort. Other than that the experience has been good.
