I really would rate this place 3.4 stars. The location is great. Place seems tired but I had a good night’s sleep and there was nothing super out of place. Seems like a discounted Inn for bus tours. The updated bathroom in our room was appreciated. Staff seemed lethargic from my observations.

Stayed at the Banff Ptarmigan Inn recently and unfortunately had a very bad experience after using the spa facilities. Shortly afterwards, my partner developed a severe fungal rash that required a doctor’s visit and medication. Medical professionals advised it was most likely contracted from an unclean spa or hot tub environment. What was most disappointing was the response from management. Rather than showing any concern or offering even partial compensation or goodwill, the manager immediately denied responsibility and dismissed the issue entirely. No real investigation, no empathy, and no attempt to resolve the situation despite the medical costs involved. I understand hotels can’t control every circumstance, but cleanliness and proper spa maintenance are basic expectations, and customer care afterwards matters just as much. The complete lack of accountability left a very poor impression. Would not stay here again and would strongly caution others about using the spa facilities.

Great location, very clean, friendly staff. However, very much a budget hotel. No basics like T Bags or milk supplied. Basic buffet breakfast.

This was a central location, ideally placed for buses and walking to other locations. The staff, especially Sue in the restaurant, were incredibly helpful. Food was good quality, only minor negative were meals (breakfast) had slightly too many potatoes!).

The staff as a whole we're lovely and very polite and helpful. The room was very rustic a little dated but the facilities were modern. Very clean small queen beds but very comfortable. I would highly recommend some war plugs for sleeping as the freight train blows his horns on average 10 times a night and it's loud. The hotel is 5 mins walk to town. Plus we got a complementary bus pass each for the 3 days here so it took us to the gondola and all around the area. Parking was included in our room but I'm not sure if it was free due to been out of season. Lovely restaurant but the breakfast finishes at 10am. Over all we would highly recommend this place it was wonderful. Great local. Staff. Hotel.
